About Merrie

Our names are Darrel & Merrie, we met in Williams in 1973, and have been married 42 years. We have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren, all of whom we absolutely adore.

Merrie purchased this house in 2015

Why Merrie chose Williams

Merrie grew up in the area, and has always called it 'home'. She loves the mountains, pines and oaks, and the quiet pace of the location. She remembers this mountainside community from her childhood, and calls it enchanting. We are confident you will enjoy the property, and make many happy memories there.

What makes this house unique

We found this home in March 2015, and fell in love at first sight. Although it needed a lot of work, we knew we could make it prettier than ever. The views are amazing, both day and night, and the setting is more like being in the country rather than town. We still have a lot of plans for making the property even better, but we want to make it available to you right away. We know you will love it!!!

Great house, nice location

  • 4 of 5

House was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and furnished, super comfortable beds and linens. Convenient location in a quiet neighborhood. This small cottage was bright, clean and cozy. Owner was very hospitable. Felt very comfortable there. Enjoyed the birds and wildlife. We stayed in Williams because accommodations were too expensive at Grand Canyon--turned out to be a smart choice. Williams is small and friendly, with several good restaurants and cute shops. It was so nice to drive away from the hustle and bustle of the park and enjoy the friendly folks of Williams. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! Everything was perfect!! We were able to walk everywhere, took the train to the Grand Canyon, drove down to gorgeous Sedona (take the 17 freeway there if you go) and went to Bearizona! Thank you to Bearizona where we learned about the Javelina (looks like a wild pig) and then had a surprise visit by a family of them on our last night at the cottage😊 - make sure the trash cans are secure they are hungry little guys! We can’t wait to come back and visit!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This was truly a home away from home. Our family of 4 adults vacationed at the Grand Canyon and Sedona and came “home” to this lovely cottage to relax each night. This place is wonderfully furnished! Comfy beds, a superbly well-equipped kitchen, beautiful views from the deck swings, a large TV in every room, and all in a quiet neighborhood. We walked to get groceries and visit a very inviting downtown Williams. My husband actually said, “There is not one thing I can think of that is missing from this place!” Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! We will definitely recommend it to others!

COZY, CLEAN HOME-GREAT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5

Our family was visiting from Florida and stayed in this cute, absolutely immaculate home! The house has everything you could possibly need to vacation comfortably. Restaurants on the old Route 66 less than 5 minutes from house! Grocery store less than 5 minutes away! We picked this vacation rental because of its central location to majority of locations you might want to visit in Central/Northern Arizona. Grand Canyon was a straight shot up Hwy 64. Only 1 hour. We visited Sedona, Meteor Crater, Painted Desert, Wupatki National Monument, Montezuma's Castle, and went hiking in Oak Creek Canyon. I am very picky when it comes to staying in a vacation rental and how clean it is. This home was really clean! Loved it!!

Lovely little home

  • 4 of 5

This home was very clean, conveniently located, bed was very comfy and the kitchen was well appointed with any thing you could need to cook at home.

My only suggestion would be to leave instructions on the use of the tv. There are three remotes and we never were able to get the regular channels. So we watched Netflix which buffered a great deal.

Charming, cozy, homey, perfect

  • 5 of 5

Our family will be talking about this trip and this house for many many years. Pictures do not do it justice. First the size, it is a 2 bedroom only 1 bath but feels like so much more. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 10 & 12) and there was plenty of room for 2 more. Next the location. We are in love with the quaint little town of Williams. The house is just blocks (walking distance) to historic Route 66. The stretch of road reminds us of Radiator Springs from the Disney movie Cars. The neon signs, the stores, restaurants and more. Last the comfort. I love being able to come back to a house after a long day of sightseeing and cook a nice meal and relax. This house has an open kitchen, bbq outside and a fireplace. Perfect for eating and sitting around drinking hot chocolate (it was cold while we were there). We will certainly be recommending this house to all our friends and family. It’s just 1 hour to the Grand Canyon (which we visited 2 days in a row) a very easy drive. Just 5 minutes from Bearizona (highly recommended) and just an hour to Sedona (less to Flagstaff). Did I mention the Safeway is also within walking distance. 2 minutes in the car. As I’m typing I keep remembering things. Lol. I’m sure I can go on and on about how wonderful this place is. Thank you Merrie for keeping a lovely home. 😊
