Our names are Darrel & Merrie, we met in Williams in 1973, and have been married 42 years. We have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren, all of whom we absolutely adore.
Merrie purchased this house in 2015
Merrie grew up in the area, and has always called it 'home'. She loves the mountains, pines and oaks, and the quiet pace of the location. She remembers this mountainside community from her childhood, and calls it enchanting. We are confident you will enjoy the property, and make many happy memories there.
We found this home in March 2015, and fell in love at first sight. Although it needed a lot of work, we knew we could make it prettier than ever. The views are amazing, both day and night, and the setting is more like being in the country rather than town. We still have a lot of plans for making the property even better, but we want to make it available to you right away. We know you will love it!!!
My husband, adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. Well located between the Grand Canyon and Sedona, it is also within walking distance of the town of Williams. The house was immaculate and well appointed. It felt cozy yet spacious, with a modern kitchen and updated bathroom. The house had very comfortable beds, lots of lighting and three big TVs. Merrie the owner was a pleasure to work with, responding quickly to my questions. For in town restaurants, check out the Red Raven, the Historic Brewing Company, Kicks on Route 66 and the Italian bistro. Just Roughin' It is great for a private Grand Canyon hike while the Hike House in Sedona also offers a tremendous privately guided hiking experience. Don't miss Bearizona in Williams for amazing up close animal experiences and The Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona for spectacular views. We enjoyed every minute of our first trip to Arizona and highly recommend the Bethel cottage as the perfect place to stay!
I would defenitly recommended to anyone. Price is right. Close to downtown and to recreational areas.
Our family of five had an excellent stay at Bethal Cottage. We spent three nights and visited the Grand Canyon and Bearizona. We will definitely be back!
This little house was the perfect cozy home away from home for our family of 5. Although the square footage is not a big number the house lives really large and doesn't feel small at all. Every detail was covered from the darling decorations, extra pillows, blankets and towels to the fully loaded kitchen complete with popcorn and hot coco. The home was exceptionally clean and the grounds were well kept. The owners were a pleasure to work with and expectations were clear. The location was great! Steps away from downtown Williams and a short hour drive to the grand canyon made for lots of fun adventures! We spent nights enjoying the fire and playing games around the kitchen table. It was a wonderful vacation and this lovely home and quite neighborhood added to the enjoyment! If we decided to visit Williams again in the future we will certainly try to stay here again....i cannot recommend it more highly!
We have stayed in many VRBO rentals and hands down this was our favorite. We loved everything about the home. It was quaint, very clean and accommodating in every sense. We really loved the town of Williams. It reminded us of a small country town in Indiana (which is where we are from). It was refreshing and peaceful to return home from our day trips to The Grand Canyon National Park, Page and Sedona to the town of Williams and your darling home. We highly recommend this home for a small group or family wanting to visit the Grand Canyon and northern Arizona. Thank you so much, Tony and Michele from Southern Indiana
We loved how this home was newly renovated and decorated! It had everything we needed for our 6 night stay in Arizona. The decor was so warm and inviting -we felt at home the minute we walked in. It is worth mentioning the beds/pillows - they were so comfortable, better than any 5 star hotel could offer! We had to make one call to the owner/Merrie who was very friendly and helpful with our question regarding the shower head (pull down from under the faucet).
The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. The Grand Canyon was only an hour and a half away - we visited it twice. We also spent time in Sedona which is incredibly beautiful. Our last day we took the 3 hour drive to Glen Canyon in Page and did a rafting tour on the Colorado River - totally worth the drive, highly recommend it. There are several restaurants on Route 66 to choose from but our favorite was the Pine Country Restaurant where we had breakfast more than once.
The only minor note to mention is that the lighting on the front stairs was not working so that area was dark when coming back to the house at night. This just needs to be fixed. The driveway & path leading to the front of the house however was well lit.
Thank you for offering your home to us, we had a wonderful & memorable vacation!
