This exclusive detached stone villa sits at the heart of Costa da Morte, an undiscovered coastal area of unique rugged natural beauty away from the tourism masses of other regions. Within minutes from pristine sandy beaches and dramatic landscape, this property provides a haven for children to play whilst parents unwind in this tranquil rural setting. The villa has two massive living rooms that open out onto extensive terracing and well-tended lawn gardens perfect for al-fresco dining. The brand-new restoration merges old features (indoor well, stable, fireplace and antique bread oven) with modern style creating an ambiance where time stands still for your enjoyment.
With its pleasant temperature, Galicia is perfect for an active family vacation with plenty of options to maintain everyone entertained. Our guests particularly enjoy walks to the various local beaches and also like to take part of the more demanding 'Way of the Lighthouses or Camino dos Faros' gorgeous trek along this dramatic coastline. Galicia is a land of water and in its fifty rivers, rafting, kayaking and canyoning opportunities abound for the more adventurous. For instance in Razo beach surf (surf courses available) is another popular family activity among our guests while horseback riding in Baldaio estuary makes another great day out, both locations within easy reach from this property. For an easy day in, just buy the catch of the day in any of the local markets or just from the neighbor -make sure you do not forget the albarino wine, as gastronomy is indeed another attraction in this region. Change the pace with a visit to the Unesco World Heritage Site of Santiago de Compostela or mingle with locals in any of the many summer festivals for a taste of Galician culture. And of course, simply winding down on the beach is always an option!
The garden (3500sqm) with large flat areas for easy outdoor game play or relaxation is surrounded by a magnificent stone fence ensuring privacy for sun and siesta and piece of mind if you have pets. The ample swimming pool, BBQ and our many organic fruit trees (lemon, mandarin, fig, kiwi, ...) guarantee a very special time in this matchless property.
Costa da Morte is one of the most beautiful areas in Spain.

No crowds -no need to fight for a place on the beach :-).
Plenty of things to do -you won't get bored!
We had a wonderful time in your gorgeous villa. We liked the house a lot and
especially the huge kitchen and the tastefully furnished bathrooms! My
husband is an architect himself and he was enthusiastic about the atmosphere
in and around the house. Congratulations for the planning and refurbishing
of that old house. Teresa was a lovely and helpful lady, we tried to chat a lot! We made the most of our holiday!
Thanks a lot for everything.
The photos and description provide an excellent basis to start to look forward to a superb house from the moment you decide to book. The maid service was inobtrusive and thorough, the owner helpful and providing model long-distance customer service. Asalo as a village makes you slow down to a pace of several decades ago and we enjoyed a chilled out fortnight sampling different beaches of the Costa de Morte, from the grand sandy stretch with great surfing at Razo (where we were thrilled by the acrobatics of a school of dolphins close to land) to the myriad of ria beaches towards Camarinas. We enjoyed sunsets at Punta Nariga and building sandcastles in the twilight at Barizo. The price tag to dine at As Gargaz at Barizo was steep, but justified by the cuisine and the view: just book in advance in the busy season. The scent of eucalyptus and pine as you swim in the pool early each morning is a sensation worth the rental price and not to be forgotten: highly recommended
This property was absolutely amazing, we stayed for 1 week with 4 adults and 4 children, the property is beautifully maintained and very luxurious, and the pool was amazing! . The property is in a rural location so a car is essential.
We have just spent a wonderful week here. The villa is stunning - if is a real pleasure to spend time relaxing in the garden and in the pool. On Ricardo's recommendation, our 3 teenagers spent 3 days at Raz Surfcamp at Razo beach. They had a ball and would go back at the drop of a hat. The maid service was an extra treat and made it feel more like a hotel than a self catering holiday. We loved the vans which called at the villa - we bought bread, cakes, wine and fish! Highly recommended!
Finished to luxury standards, this beautifully appointed villa makes it easy to relax into the unique charms of Galicia. We loved oranges and lemons fresh from the trees in the garden, the high-grade entertainment system, sociable layout of the property and an unforgettable lunch at As Garzas, just 5km from the villa. The maid service was much appreciated and a couple of minor problems during our stay were graciously and attentively dealt with by the owner. Many thanks to Ricardo and his team for a wonderful week!
A lovely property in great surroundings. Well appointed, and lots of space - the children particularly enjoyed picking fresh oranges and lemons in the garden. It was great to come back at the end of the day to a clean and tidy house - Pilar and Anna did a great job.
Fantastic local beaches nearby, and some dramatic coastlines.
This villa has everything required for a great family holiday and is modern and very spacious. There are also three quiet unspoilt beaches within relatively short walking distance.
The only slight downside is the weak Wifi, but that may be due to the relative remoteness of the location.
This property sits in the idyllic village of Asalo within easy driving distance from Santiago (direct flights from London Stansted, Frankfurt and Rome with Ryan Air), Vigo and La Coruna (Vueling direct from Heathrow and Amsterdam).
This coastal area of matchless beauty includes cliffs, beaches, sand-dunes, littoral lagoons, estuaries, marshes and islands. In fact, Costa da Morte has been declared an EU Site of Community Interest due to the importance of its maritime ecosystems. The property is very close (3 km/2 miles) to the beaches of Ninons, Barizo and Seiruga (this with an estuary perfect for kids). The beach of Razo (18km/11miles) is a paradise for kite surfers, surfers and nature lovers alike.
Malpica (7km/4miles), a typical fishermen town with a daily local market and fish auction, is ideal to get your BBQ supplies. Carballo (20km/12miles) has good night-life.
This villa offers the opportunity to explore this beautiful area in style
Other Activities: kite surfing, archery, canoeing (lake and sea), bird watching
