Why Jonathan Willis chose Llandrinio

Fantastic place to stay
We booked for a weekend away for 16 people, adults and kids, so full occupancy, you’re never sure if you’re going to feel on top of each other, but couldn’t have further from the truth! Llandrino was so spacious, kids loved playing hide and seek....were at it for hours, from the large kitchen & dining area, the TV room, lounge, snooker room & never mind the bedrooms.
The space made our stay very relaxing, everyone could do there own thing, men especially enjoyed the snooker room, sound systems worked wonderfully throughout the house too.
The kitchen is very well stocked, never missed anything when cooking for our large group.
We would definitely think of returning, we couldn’t fault anything, checking in and out was simple too, no hassle.
Superb setting for our get together with friends , the house is set in gorgeous gardens , and had everything we needed xx
A unique home with bags of personality!
Finding a property to cater for the needs of a large family group, with ages from young to old was expected to be a challenge - until we found Llandrinio Hall. Celebrating an 80th birthday, a group of 16 of us enjoyed a fantastic 3 days in a property which can only be described as unique, oozing character and history, yet homely and relaxing. The space is perfect for a large gathering - neither too large nor too small. With a combination of music, snooker, cinema, gardens, table tennis, wet room and a well equipped / spacious kitchen are, we had all we needed to make a memorable and special occasion and something for everyone. In spite of its size and old grandeur, the hall feels well loved and lived in, making it easy to relax and enjoy its quirky personality. Great for self catering, with a beautiful outdoor space and views and a highly effective heating system rounded it off perfectly. Finally, our thanks to Sue (housekeeper) for great pre arrival help. Absolutely amazing from start to finish!
I spent a long weekend with 8 close friends to celebrate my 40th and this place was such a special place to do that. From the location, to the tree lined drive, this Manor House is absolutely gorgeous. Each room has such character...from the sitting room to the massive kitchen, and the walk-in shower room. It would be amazing for children too who would spend hours discovering the outdoors and would have such fun sleeping in the quirky bedrooms. It was so well equipped with towels in each room and lots of ice in the freezer!
We made so many memories there and we all fell in love with the place. So thank you Jonathon for finding this gem and letting strangers enjoy a little piece of heaven in Wales. We will definitely return one day.
An amazing and special place for a weekend away
We had a FANTASTIC time at Llandrinio Hall - it's an absolutely superb place!
The garden and surrounding landscape was beautiful; the kitchen well equipped and huge; the surround sound amazing; the rooms spotlessly clean; the cinema room awesome; the walk in wet room was just out of this world! I could go on...
Really, it was just faultless. Jonathan was very friendly and helpful during the booking process and the housekeeper, Sue, was absolutely lovely!
I would definitely return - and in fact, very much hope to do so!
What a great house. With a snooker table, table tennis, two pianos and a trampoline and huge garden for the kids (not to mention all the toys), you simply don't need to leave. There's also a telly and plenty of DVDs for rainy days.
Bedrooms are huge, plus the wet-room shower is the best shower I've ever used.
Llandrinio Hall is the perfect base for exploring the varied delights of both Shropshire (to the east) and mid-Wales (to the west). It is located directly on the English/Welsh border.
Shropshire has been surprising visitors ever since the Romans first settled here. It has some 32 castles and stately homes, the best of which can be found at Ludlow, Stokesay and Attingham Park in Shrewsbury. There’s even a Roman city at Wroxeter. Shropshire also boasts many national horticulture collections and speciality gardens, like Wollerton Old Hall and Stapley Water Gardens.
Mid-Wales has just as much to offer visitors, too. Powis Castle near Welshpool is built from red grit stone and was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1952 by the 4th Earl of Powis. It features magnificent gardens with rambling Italianate terraces. Beyond Welshpool are the Elan Valley reservoirs, the Centre for Alternative Technology and the Snowdonia National Park.
