Very safe neighborhood.
I have owned this condo for over 13 years and have lived there until recently. I grew up in Germany and the USA, and am now working as a professor in England. My friend Mark manages the property and lives on site in the building. I study animal behavior and have worked on Madagascar and Africa. My condo has unique decorations from my travels.
Anja Deppe purchased this condo in 2002
I bought my property because of its proximity to a beautiful white sand beach (2 min walk) and the great nightly live music at two bars/restaurants just a 4 min walk away. Its close to downtown and Tampa airport. Its spacious and has friendly neighbors. The entire sunset beach neighborhood is unique, where many locals know each other - its like a small village. I feel very safe here, even when I walk by myself late at night. I also like the 7-eleven across the street where I can quickly get what I need, and the beach Publix grocery store down the road. TI has everything you need, from post office to bank, and many shops.
I love my condo because its steps to the beach, and I can sit on the dock and watch dolphins swim by (almost every evening). Many of the residents have been there a long time, and we have a very neighborly friendly community here at the 40 unit complex where many units are owner occupied or have long-term tenants.
Our place was fairly nice and very clean. We did have to wait an hour to get into our place due to some miscommunication with the owner and their friend. The air was broke so spent two days with the air conditioner guy. He was unable to fix it so it ran 24/7 and we had to manually shut it off and on. Refrigerator and hot water were shut off for some reason at first, so cold shower and hot beer. No wash cloths provided, also no coffee pot. Communication with owner was very nice, and even sent me a birthday gift to our room. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go so that was very nice. It is in a good location Just think owner needs to be bit more prepared to rent out.
Treasure Island is a beach community on the Gulf of Mexico. Its a very relaxed "village" with few high rise buildings. Publix grocery store, restaurants, shops, live music, and bars all within walking distance. There is a beach trolley that goes up and down the beaches, as well as free beach cab rides. Paddle boards and Kayaks available for rent on the beach. Famous Fort De Soto Park 15 min drive away. Downtown St. Petersburg, 15 min drive, offers great cuisine, a cinema, theater, museums, a marina, and more.
