Self catering Apartment 5 minutes from the Beach, and Marina by car.

Agave is a family orientated privately owned apartment in an established quiet area, with amenities very close by. Suitable for families, couples, and older groups of sports people. It consists of 2 bedrooms, bathroom and shower room. There is a fully fitted and well equipped kitchen, with washing machine, as well as a luxuriously appointed lounge leading onto the balcony which overlooks the pool. The condominium consists of 5 apartments, and is situated in an established area only a 2 minute walk from a park with childrens area, bistro, bar, restaurants, (good low cost food helpful friendly staff, and lively at the weekend), souvenir shop, who also can arrange ecursions and currency exchange. The property is surrounded by golf courses, some within easy walking distance, nearest one is an easy 10 minutes away. The beach is a 20/30 minute walk away, as is the Marina, along a beautiful palm fringed walkway set with exercise equipment every few metres for those inclined to try and work off a few pounds from the wonderful local food. The apartment has many personal touches as it it used on a regular basis by the owners, including resident guard seagulls, Tom, Dick and Harry, plus Bert the latest arrival. There is a new arrival for 2015 Rocky the cockeral a traditional, well known Portuguese Symbol, to replace a previous smaller cockerel, sadly stolen by a guest.

Please be advised that if you are a group of young people, we can not accept groups aged under 23,. Due to previous problems with this type of group, we are unable to accept bookings, without safeguards. We will require names and addresses and contact numbers of all members of any young group, and will hold the group leader as personally responsible for any damage or disruption and reserve the right to eject any group for any reason that we consider inappropriate, without notice. We are sure you will understand our policy.

If your group does not fall into this category, then you are very welcome to our house as we are in a quiet residential area, which is suitable for families, couples and older groups, who enjoy relaxation and quiet as part of their holiday.

General: The apartment is fitted with air-conditioning plus heaters for the out of season evenings.(available for a small extra charge) and is suitable for up to 6 adults.

The shared gardens are laid to lawn around the building and pool, there are 2 loungers supplied in the apartment, as well as foam beach mats. The balcony has a shaded drying area, as well as a seating area with 6 chairs, table and umbrella. The pool is approximately 30' long, and is maintained by the condominium owner.

The beach is a 20/30 minute walk, through a nature reserve, to Falesia beach, which is a quiet stretch of golden sand, with a cafe and restaurant, there are a considerable number of covered parking spaces. The town of Vilamoura offers a range of activities from golf to deep sea fishing, as well as some exclusive shopping, and huge range of restaurants. The local nature reserve has a fantastic range of birdlife including several rare varieties.

Golf: The apartment is surrounded by 3 golf courses;- Laguna, Old Course, and Pinhal, all within walking distance or with a 10 minute drive another 3;- Millennium, Vila Sol, and the Golf Academy which includes a driving range. In the adjoining complex there is a golf booking agency Tee-Times, run by a UK ex-pat, who can give invaluable advice about the facilities available, and offers good rates for golfers via the agency.

Local Information: The local airport is Faro, which is well served by budget and scheduled airlines from all over the UK. The airport is a 20 minute drive away, although there are the options of taxi, bus, or car hire at the airport. Car hire is not considered essential as the local services are so close, however one will be required to go on excursions, or alternatively by coach from the local tour company based in the adjacent complex.

Cabo Vincente, the most westerly point of Portugal is 90 kilometres away by road. 300 kilometers by toll motorway to Lisbon. Spain is only 75 Kilometres away. The nearest towns are Quateria, and Albufeira, which both offer beaches, bars, and nightime entertainment if required.

The Algarve is many things to different people from a bucket and spade beach holiday, to a fishing and watersports holiday based at Vilamoura Marina, with golf, walking, cycling, or visiting historical sites. There really is something to suit all tastes.

Why Paul R Butler chose Vilamoura

We looked at many apartments when we decided to buy, this had local amenities very very close by, including 2 excellent portugeuse Restaurants and two bars. the walk to the beach is lovely, however the little train passes a few meters from the end of our road, so getting into town is easy, we usually stroll down to the Marina, and get a taxi back.. We love Vilamoura, and are constantly finding out new things about it, and new things to do.

What makes this apartment unique

The balcony is a wonderful place to watch the world go slowly by, and is a great place to chill out. The pool is small, but there are only 5/6 apartments in Edificio Baltarik, so usually its like having a private pool, only overlooked by the apartments, so great for children. The area is very quiet, and well established, but just a few metres away is the lovely restauant Chez Carlos, and we have equipped the apartment comprehensively as both my wife and I are keen cooks.

Comprehensively equipped kitchen has electric oven, gas hob, combination grill/oven microwave, pyrex cookware dishes, 4 slice toaster, catering style flat plate sandwich toaster, compression orange juice squeezer, kettle, Cafetiere, Filter Coffee maker, Cutting Boards, fridge freezer, plus knife set, barbeque tools, and selection of pans. We have recently added a washing machine, and supply washing tablets. There is an iron, and ironing board, with ionised water supplied. Hall, is supplied with a mini drawer unit where Tom, Dick, and Harry stand guard. There are maps and guide books as well as a selection of vouchers and special offers from the local restaurants

Totally recommend this lovely apartment

Never having been to Portugal, I wasn't sure what to expect. But this is a true case of "it does what it says on the tin." The booking process was easy, the managing agent greeted us on arrival and we were provided with clean linen and towels mid-stay. The apartment is super....well equipped with attention to detail. Centrally located and within easy reach of the supermarket, restaurants, beach and Marina. We loved it. The fact that whilst we were there, we booked to go again, should tell you all you need to know.

Had a lovely time in Portugal, made even better by staying at this appartement. Carlos was very nice and helpful. Very spacious rooms, very clean. Very quiet, Shops and a couple of restaurants just across the road. 20 minute walk to marina. Would definitely go back and stay at this appartment. 👍🏻

A very well equipped home from home in a lovely location

The apartment is literally across the road from two lovely, very reasonably priced restaurants, Chez Carlos & A Carpo, a supermarket, a cocktail bar & an amazing breakfast bistro (fab sausages) which we visited every day!! It's a lovely walk down to the marina and/or beach (beach is stunning) but the best part was the owner subscribes to the Vilamoura bike system enabling visitors to the apartment the option of using a bike & cycling instead. We used the bikes almost every day at no additional cost. The owner Paul, and his representatives, could not have been more helpful during our stay. Will definitely return and recommend to friends & family.

Excellent apartment

We really enjoyed our time here. Nice apartment about a twenty minute walk through a nice park to the marina.

Carlos was very helpful and arrange transfers which were cheaper than a taxi, Paul the owner was very efficient with the booking etc.

We will be back and thanks again to Paul and Carlos, all the best

Perfect in every way!

This apartment found online was an absolute gem of a discovery! I have rented apartments privately many times and they are always good, but this was by far my favourite. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need during a family holiday, and is located in a lovely area with shops and restaurants on its doorstep. We stayed there for 10 days with our three daughters (11,10 and 7) and had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday. The pool is beautiful and for the most part the girls had the pool to themselves and when we weren't in there with them - we were able to sit at the balcony and watch over them. There is an impressive array of DVD's to watch if required and the settee was extremely comfortable. The balcony was really lovely as it was shaded whilst still having a lovely view of the pool and surrounding area and was the perfect spot for me to enjoy a tranquil cup of tea first thing whilst waiting for the rest of the family to wake - heaven! Sleep was not an issue as the apartment was cool (despite the heat outside) and the beds were very, very comfortable.

The location of the apartment was a 20-30 minute walk away from the Marina but we got into the habit of doing this each evening as the girls enjoyed the Marina - and all the different restaurants. The walk is really pleasant as it's through a scenic park area and perfectly safe. We went to the beach once during our visit - which was a bit more of a walk (train available) and although it was lovely we didn't return as the apartment and pool was just so much more fun and relaxing.

We ate at Chez Carlos (across the road from the apartment) one evening and this was really well priced food and some of the best quality and service of anywhere else we ate. In the Marina it is a lot pricier (especially with 3 children) but we were able to find some decent value places - and everywhere we ate was good quality food.

I normally don't like to return to the same places on holiday but I would go back to this apartment without any hesitation. I was given first class service from the owner and the agent and the drivers who brought us to and from the apartment -and the entire process was so friendly and professional. Portugal itself is beautiful and the people are all extremely friendly and polite and very helpful. We had an amazing holiday and I'm so pleased I rented this particular apartment.

Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is one of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land. The apartment area is near to Falesia Beach, and Nature reserve, as well as the Marina, making it ideal for both sunbathing and bird spotting. Close to the towns of Faro, Albufeira, Loule, and Quarteria, Vilamoura is bursting with sporting and leisure facilities (Tennis, bowling, waterskiing, scuba diving, golf, horse riding) for the whole family. It is a place for rest and relaxation but also for pursuing active pastimes and sports; with its huge marina and watersports facilities, a friendly and safe residential haven, but also a vibrant and exciting night-life centre, with a host of attractive waterside restaurants around the Marina, and in the town. Golf: Some of the best golf courses in the Algarve are in and around Vilamoura, its a Golfers paradise, with a range, and 5 golf courses within a few minutes drive of the apartment (or for the more sporting, a short walk to 3 of them) Pinhal, Millennium, Victoria, Old Course, and Laguna, with a bit further away Vila Sol. There are numerous golf agencies who can arrange low cost course fees, and there are various shuttle buses and taxis to take clients to the course if walking and driving are not an option
