4 Bedroom barn conversion with Hot tub, sleeping up to 7-9

This beautifully converted property has been a holiday cottage with Sykes cottages for the past 6 years. Set in the heart of the copuntryside with beautiful walks on its doorstep, is ideally situated as only 10 minutes from SHEFFIELD city centre and boasts many outstanding features including wooden floors, exposed beams and stonework.

Peak View comprises of;

Four bedrooms: 2 x double, 1 with ensuite (shower, basin & WC), 1 x single with pull out truckle bed, 1 x twin with pull out truckle bed. Ground floor wet room with shower, basin & WC. 1st floor bathro


Gas (LPG) central heating. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, colour TV with Freeview,Sky,Media Player, video, DVD, playstation, CD,etc. Wireless broadband . All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. . Cot & highchair. Off road parking for 2 cars. Small Patio with hot tub, garden furniture & BBQ.

Dosent look like pic

Booked this for a family get together due to us all working alot but wish i hadnt . Where do i start . Well first of all DONT stsy in bed cos hot water gies of at 10amso u wont be able to have a shower till late afternoon . Paying all this money u would of thoight u would have hot water all day . The cooker was disgusting dont look like it been cleaned in months . We had to sweep patio before using . Theres cob webs all over . The hot tub is worn and all 3 children got a rash from it . Dont thinks its getting cleaned after each visit . The park is scruffy . The trampoline had no padding round it and the net not put on properly . This was a shame because the area is so pretty . Tbe owners dont look at the small details . They ha e a bad attitude . Dont want to know once they have your money .they wont give damage deposit back they lie so they can keep it .. we made the most of it as a family but just a shame with tje amount i paid this is what i got . To be fair go to the area but u will get better than this for your money ( u may get hot water lol ) and owmers that care about the people that rent there property not like this one that doesnt and just care about the money . Hope this helps as i have been honest . I use home and away and never had this problem before but u get bad ones every where and i was just unlucky ( lol thats my life ) .i did take pics as proof so in the middle off trying to get some money back think i need some good luck xxxx

Owner's Response: These guests damaged the Trampoline net and pulled the security strap off the hot tub. Unfortunately when I didn't refund the Damage deposit, they brought up all of the above (nothing mentioned prior to this). These guests will not be welcome and I would not recommend to any one as I have had over 100 unprofessional messages resulting in the police warning them that if communication did not cease a harassment order would be placed.

Charming barn on a farm

My friends and I loved the feel of the place as soon as we arrived. Modern enough with all the charm and character of the barn still.

It felt remote enough but amenities were easy enough to locate and drive to. Although if we went again we would probably make use of the local Tesco delivery service!

Anita was lovely, giving us a few tips on a walk and local pub along with a few bits and pieces to start our weekend off with.

The weekend as a whole was fab... We had the weather. It was sunny and warm, apart from the rather random snow storm Saturday evening, which was utterly beautiful as we sat in the hot tub drinking champagne.

The barn was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. The lambs at the farm and the horses of Anita kept my niece happy.

The sign of a wonderful stay... Would we return?

Peaceful and Yet Convenient

Great Location with great walks nearby and Sheffield a short drive. Tesco will deliver shopping which is fab! The accommodation is 3 decent size bedrooms, easily sleeping 6, the 4th bedroom is a single room, with a single bed. It does have a pull out bed underneath, but when that has been pulled out, there is no floor space left. Ideal for young kids who will just be sleeping in the room. We had some issues with the cleanliness of the property, spider webs that had been there for some time, dirty windows, a very dirty oven and cup ring marks on bed side table. However this is the country and it is a farmhouse, so that has to be taken into account. The hot tub accommodates 4 and as recommended by the owners, don't turn it off, it circulates constantly thus keeping a nice temperature! Overall the property comfortably hosts 7 although there are sleeping facilities for 9, the latter 2 most likely kids. There is a large TV, Nintendo Wii, DVD and although there is WiFi, its was a bit temperamental, although it was trying to compete with 8 ipads! For a base to explore, its ideal. I've rated the accommodation as only 3 star, however I'm sure it could easily score higher if a little more attention was given to the cleaning regime, particularly the items I've already mentioned.

Beautiful Location

Ideal location in a beautiful area. Lots of places to explore nearby, while still being close to amenities if required. Welcome pack was a nice surprise and appreciated. Cottage was a perfect size for our party (2 Families of 4)

fantastic holiday

we booked the cottage to celebrate my 60th birthday - we had a fabulous time - cottage very well equipped - hot tub was brilliant and the grand-children loved the play area - fantastic location could be into sheffield in 10 - 15 mins but the cottage is so peaceful and you would never think you were so close to amenities - we would definitely holiday there again so much to do in the surrounding area

Good reasonably priced holiday accommodation

We had a great stay at this cottage. It was roomy, well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The welcome items were a huge bonus after a long drive. The hot tub was a definite treat after a busy day out and a stunning view from it. Superb location for exploring and a good reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend.

Originally part of the Duke of Norfolk estate’ the barn is situated in the small hamlet of Hollow Meadows, just 4 miles from Ladybower Reservoir in the lovely Peak District National Park and the famous Snake Pass, yet only 15mins from Sheffield City Centre. A great location for easy accesss to all areas including Ponds Forge Leisure Centre. But if you want to relax you can snuggle on the sofa and watch a film. Sit at the table and eat a great meal or relax in the hot tub in the open air.

Nearly 700 lime trees line the Rivelin valley, making it the second longest lime tree avenue in Britain. Hollow Meadows holds a scattering of smallholdings, farms and dwellings and is ideal for exploring many bridleways and footpaths. Nearby are the impressive dam at Ladybower, used by the 'Dambuster' squadron to practise for their raid on the Ruhr Dams in 1945, and Hathersage, believed to have inspired Charlotte Bronte to write Jane Eyre. Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, and Sheffield, with its attractions and exciting nightlife, are only a short drive away.

Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose are able to deliver grocery shopping direct to the properties.
