About Mary Keeler

We are an active family of four who enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling swimming, beach combing local fare and fine dining.

Mary Keeler purchased this condo in 2004

Why Mary Keeler chose Cayman Islands

We frequently travel to the Cayman Islands, for a change we decided to stay in East End with our then 5 year old daughter. We immediately fell in love with this side of the island. This condo complex is all beach front. Even when all the units are full there is plenty of room on the beach and at the pools. There is always a breeze and no bugs. There a reef that protects the beach so the water is calm and kid friendly. There is a bar and resturant on site and wonderful concierges who can help you book anything.

What makes this condo unique

The Reef Resort is an all beachfront resort. There is some of the best snorkelling on the island and we are close to the Queen Anne Botanical Garden, The Mastic Trail, Rum Point and Kiabo Beach.

Mary's Condo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Mary's condo for 10 days in January 2017and only needed to call Barbara (the property manger) twice; once to tell her that we arrived and the second time at check-out to say that we were sadly leaving; we truly enjoyed Mary's condo and the island and had a great great time....our 10 days went by so fast.

Both Mary's condo and Reef Resort are very nice and very clean and exceeded our expectation. The Reef Resort is well situated to Rum Point, Star Fish Point, Pedro St. James, Botanic Garden and busy George Town/Seven Mile Beach.

A rental car is a must. We put 475 miles on the little KIA we rented and saw the entire island, including Hell and Rum Point (twice) – obviously Rum Point was our favorite spot.

We ate at the Tukka, Over the Edge, at the Reef Resort itself, Morritts and the White House on our last night on the island. All good food. Tried the iguana, crocodile and kangaroo at the Tukka, even ate at the Big Tree BBQ.

We shopped at the Cayman Craft Market in George Town and at the Craft Market in Camana Bay who’s vendors featured local island ware. All interesting hand made/home made items with informative stories behind each from the friendly resident Cayman vendors.

Saw a couple of blue iguanas at the Botanic Garden and took our picture with Jack, the 37 year old donkey, at Pedro St James!!!

Our last night was capped off with the pink house at the end of the Reef Resort beach shooting off a wonderful display of fireworks - but for whatever reason, what a way to conclude a fantastic vacation.

We have already made our minds up to go back to the Caymans and will certainly be booking with Mary again.

Relaxing and tranquil resort

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Mary's Condo for 8 days and it was an absolute paradise. We love everything on the Island, sometimes it becomes very hectic with four boys under the age of ten, but at the end of the day we would relax in the condo, on the beach or in one of the pools. It's very quiet on the resort, it's almost like your own private beach, it's never crowded! When we arrived the condo was very clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. There's a grocery store right across the street and we even rented a car from accross the street, so we could explore the island. We are very much looking forward to our next visit and staying at the Reef Resort in Mary's condo!!

Accommodations very Nice but...

  • 2 of 5

We had a very nice time staying at this location at the Reef Resort in Mary's condo. The location is very nice and having a walk out to the ocean every day was splendid. Room had all of the amenities we needed and was clean upon arrival. However, here are my concerns that are driving my rating very far down from where it should have been.

1) Mix up on dates. Upon arrival at the resort at 11:00PM we were told that we didn't have our room that someone was in it. I was in contact with Mary several times prior to departure and had the email showing that I was confirmed but upon arrival she didn't book days properly with her manager there. This was very frustrating for us and took about 1 hr to clear up. After several phone calls we were able to get in touch with her property manager who luckily had another suite we used, but could have been a very big issue had this not been the case.

2) TV(s) - No reception - emailed and called both Mary and property manager about this and no return call or email. To me this is just not acceptable. Not that we wanted to watch TV but I had 2 young kids. Talked to neighboring units next to us and their reception was perfect so this should have been something that could be fixed.

3) Giant Cockroach in Bathroom found on 3rd day. Now I know this probably happens even at the best places so I wasn't expecting anything much, just again a returned call or email from Mary or property manager.

4) Fridge leaked water - again no big deal but when reported had no return call.

Bottom Line - Resort was very nice, but be careful in renting thru VRBO as front desk at hotel can't help you since Mary owns this unit. I question the rental manager running this place as how do you screw up someones reservation and then never call them to explain or buy them dinner or something.

Owner's Response: I have rented to over 100 families and never had a complaint or a problem. The resort made an error with this reservation and with in an hour it was rectified at 11pm. I was in this condo 4 weeks prior to this guest's arrival and the TV reception was fine we even provide a blue ray DVD player and DVDs are available at the front desk. The refrigerator was not leaking either. There is someone on site 24/7 to assist with emergencies. The condo is inspected after every guest for any irregularities and the staff have checked the refrigerator. I have owned this condo for years and never have seen a bug in the condo or had a guest complain about one. I am sorry John and his family had such a difficult time at this wonderful resort.

The Reef Resort is a Must Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at The Reef Resort. It has everything we needed. We liked that it is so much more relaxing and quiet than the 7-mile beach area.

The Owner, Mary was wonderful to work with. She returned my emails promptly and was available by phone as well. We highly recommend using Mary and the Reef Resort, you will not be disappointed

Beautiful Resort

  • 5 of 5

Mary

I want to thank you for the opportunity to stay in your condominium at the Reef Resort in the Cayman Island.

Our 7 night stay was a much needed getaway for my husband and I and the Resort was very accommodating, in a great location and we especially loved the waterfront views.

We were able to see most of the island and swam with the stingrays, snorkeled and shopped.

The Cayman Island is a must see location and your resort adds to that great experience.

Thank you again
