About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms In Heart of Downtown St. Augustine. Walk Everywhere!

Casa Antigua is a 2 story, 1910 home built by Henry Flagler's Model Land Company nestled in the heart of downtown St. Augustine. This home is a piece of St. Augustine's magnificent Flagler era history, a time when many of St. Augustine's most impressive structures were erected. We just completed a full renovation/partial restoration on this home to bring back its original luster and incorporate all of the modern day, upscale amenities you love. The house features many beautiful architectural details such as original heart pine floors, 11' ceilings, spacious rooms, formal dining room with wainscoting, oversized windows, columns, marble fireplaces (non-functioning), and much more. Much of the furniture and decor was chosen to reflect interior design styles popular at the time such as art moderne, art nouveau, and art deco.

Casa Antigua is handicap accessible and is located in the most central and safest downtown neighborhood block. It is just a five minute walk from all downtown destinations such as the bay front, the fort, wedding venues, restaurants, art galleries, and shopping. Tennis courts are only 1 block away as well.

Spend some time relaxing in one of the rocking chairs on the large, columned front porch overlooking other historic homes and passersby. You will likely see historic reenactors and tour groups walking down the street. Enjoy fresh grapefruit from the tree out front in November and December. Our magnolia tree, jasmine, and azaleas bloom in the spring and many times into the summer.

One covered off-street parking spot is included in the rear of the house and one street parking permit is available, so you will have room for 2 cars. Additional street parking is often available, though a little harder to find during special events. The historic downtown parking garage is just one block away as well.

You will be renting the entire home which includes 3 large bedrooms with closets, 1 dressing/lounge room, 2 bathrooms with showers, a study/den, living room with 55" flat screen tv open to a formal dining room. Completely renovated kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware, pots, and pans. Washer and dryer included.

Linens, towels, toilet paper, dish soap and many other neccessities are provided. Guests only need to bring shampoo, conditioner, and other personal toiletries.

* Casa Antigua may not be a good fit for families with small children. Our home holds significant historical and sentimental value and, unfortunately, is simply not set up to accommodate the needs of small children.*

About Amanda T

I grew up in St. Augustine so I am happy to advise you on places to go and things to see in or around the city!

Amanda T purchased this house in 2014

Why Amanda T chose Downtown Historic District

Casa Antigua has been in the family since 1969. The house itself was recently completely renovated completed to bring back the home's original luster. Being that this project has so much family history and work invested, I'm looking for some really great renters who will be sure to respect that.

This property is ideally located right downtown, offering many options for entertainment and dining. If you plan to explore downtown only, you could easily take a shuttle from Jacksonville airport and never need to rent a car.

What makes this house unique

This is a great opportunity to stay in a historic home during your trip to the nation's oldest city. This home was just restored to its 1910 appearance, with minor revisions as to include all of our modern-day comforts.

This house is the perfect combination of neighborhood and city. Our street is generally pretty quiet at night, while you may occassionally hear other vacationers walking by. However, if you walk one block east you will find yourself in the heart of all the action.

Location, perfect...house ,perfect

  • 5 of 5

We spent one month at Casa Antigua and the stay was excellent. We were within walking distance of all the key attractions and the house was perfect for entertaining our guests. Amanda provided support for us throughout the stay and that made all the difference in making everything as advertised. Looking forward for a return next winter.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful historic property that is right downtown. Very comfortable beds, beautiful furnishings, and a large TV. Couldn't have asked for a lovelier place!

Heaven for Christmas!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for four nights over Christmas weekend as a different way to celebrate Christmas — and had a wonderful time! The home is VERY nice, beautifully decorated, and in a perfect location: A block or so outside the hustle and bustle of the old town — great for walking to just about everything, yet quiet for a relaxing stay. We had great weather and went to the beach one day, which was only a 15 minute drive away! The home was also decorated for Christmas — Florida-style! — with an indoor palm tree serving as the Christmas tree. A couple of minor complaints (already shared with the property manager): A hair dryer was provided, but it was stuck in the “on” position, so you may want to bring your own unless the owner has replaced this. We’ve also stayed in VRBO’s with better equipped kitchens, yet we were still able to prepare a Christmas dinner of prime rib, mashed potatoes and Caesar salad without any problem. The property manager and owner were very responsive to questions via email and phone, and the property manager met us upon our arrival, late on a Friday evening, to give us a “show ‘n tell” about the home. Our deposit was promptly refunded within a week of our departure. While we won’t likely make it back to St. Augustine any time soon, this wonderful stay had our adult sons asking about doing something similar for Christmas every year, before our stay was over!

So wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful retreat place. Located within walking distance of all that St Augustine has to offer. The house was well appointed and absolutely beautiful. We spent relaxing mornings on the wide front porch in comfortable rocking chairs enjoying the bucolic neighborhood the house is situated in. The owners provided us with much information and instructions were all very clear on the use of everything in this lovely home. We want to come back!
