Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Downtown Historic District - Casa Antigua Downtown

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms In Heart of Downtown St. Augustine. Walk Everywhere!

***This property is available to parties of adults only. No babies, children, or teens.***

Casa Antigua is a 2 story, 1910 home built by Henry Flagler's Model Land Company nestled in the heart of downtown St. Augustine. This home is a piece of St. Augustine's magnificent Flagler era history; a time when many of St. Augustine's most impressive structures were erected. We just completed a full renovation/partial restoration on this home to bring back it's original luster and incorporate all of the modern day, upscale amenities you love. The house features many beautiful architectural details such as original heart pine floors, 11' foot ceilings, spacious rooms, formal dining room with wainscoting, oversized windows, columns, marble fireplaces (non-functioning), and much more. Much of the furniture and decor was chosen to reflect interior design styles popular at the time such as art moderne, art nouveau, and art deco.

Casa Antigua is located in the most central and safest downtown neighborhood block. It is just a five minute walk from all downtown destinations such as the bay front, the fort, wedding venues, restaurants, art galleries, and shopping. Tennis courts are only 1 block away as well - we provide racquets and balls for you.

Spend some time relaxing in one of the rocking chairs on the large, columned front porch overlooking other historic homes and passersby. You will likely see historic reenactors and tour groups walking down the street. Enjoy fresh grapefruit from the tree out front in November and December. Our magnolia tree, jasmine, and azaleas bloom in the spring and many times into the summer.

One covered off-street parking spot is included in the rear of the house and one street parking permit is available, so you will have room for 2 cars. Additional street parking is often available, though a little harder to find during special events. The historic downtown parking garage is just one block away, as well.

You will be renting the entire home which includes 3 large bedrooms with closets, 1 dressing/lounge room, 2 bathrooms with showers, a study/den, living room with 55" flat screen tv open to a formal dining room. Completely renovated kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans! Washer and dryer included.

Linens, towels, toilet paper, dish soap and many other neccessities are provided. Guests only need to bring shampoo, conditioner, and other personal toiletries.

About Andy

I grew up in St. Augustine so I am happy to advise you on places to go and things to see in or around the city!

Andy purchased this house in 2014

Why Andy chose St. Augustine

Casa Antigua has been in my family since 1969. My significant other and I just completed a 9 month renovation to bring back the home's original luster. Being that this project has so much of my family history and work invested I'm looking for some really great renters who will be sure to respect that.

This property is ideally located right downtown, offering many options for entertainment and dining. If you plan to explore downtown only, you could easily take a shuttle from Jacksonville airport and never need to rent a car.

What makes this house unique

This is a great opportunity to stay in a historic home during your trip to the nation's oldest city. This home was just restored to it's 1910 appearance, with minor revisions as to include all of our modern-day comforts.

This house is the perfect combination of neighborhood and city. Our street is generally pretty quiet at night, while you may occassionally hear other vacationers walking by. However, if you walk one block east you will find yourself in the heart of all the action.

Wonderful Retreat, Perfect Location

Our girls weekend could not have been better! The location was perfect for walking everywhere, day or night. And the front porch was our favorite spot to gather and relax each day. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed and wanted to enjoy our weekend! Highly recommend!

Beautiful and conveniently located house

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a wedding and this house was absolutely perfect for the long weekend. We were able to walk to the wedding, to the shops and to many restaurants. And the beach was a short drive away! In addition to the house being at a great location, the interior was spacious and well decorated. One of the big pluses was the patio out back, which was a great place to relax. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

If you enjoy walking into town , sitting on the porch watching the world go by, beautifully appointed decor, great entertaining spaces inside and out, then this is the house for you ! When we walked into the grand foyer, we knew we had made the right decision. The house has great flow and energy ... perfect for our family graduation celebration. Highly recommend !

Gorgeous and Spacious home, very close to the downtown are of Historic St. Augustine

We rented this property for the weekend when our daughter got married, it was perfect! She and a few of her bridesmaids stayed there; it was easy for them to walk back and forth to shops and restaurants, nightclubs and the rehearsal dinner at the Columbia. The house was a perfect place for the bride and all 9 bridesmaids to get ready on the wedding day. Our 4 hair and makeup artists loved the spaciousness of the dining room and living room area, and the big bay window in the dining room provided great lighting for their work, they said it was by far the nicest "getting ready" area they'd ever worked in! The kitchen is very nice and modern, and the front porch and back yard are great as well. The upstairs bedrooms are big and beds very comfortable, there's also a cute little dressing area at the front of the house upstairs which provided a great space to hang the bride's dress and other special items.

When the photographers and videographers arrived they were amazed at the beautiful setting for our pre-wedding photos, again "the best photo shooting space" they'd encountered in the area, due to the natural lighting, the colors on the wall and they loved the front porch and front yard area for pictures! The owner was very easy to work with and communicated quickly, the property was immaculate when we arrived, parking situation is great with 2 dedicated spaces and about a block to the Visitor's Center parking area. We were also able to find street parking nearby.

Whether you're looking for a "Wedding Cottage", Family Vacation home or girl's weekend getaway you will LOVE this gem of a property!

Great location for seeing the sites of St Augustine

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two sisters and I enjoyed our stay at Casa Antigua. We all had large comfortable rooms. The off street parking was a nice feature. The location allowed us to walk to dining & historic sites. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this home to others.

Step right into the St. Augustine way of life!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent four nights in this delightful property with our daughter and her husband. What a joy! We all loved it.

Upon arrival there was a plate of cookies waiting for us on the porch, a bottle of wine, and a fully-decorated Christmas tree. All these had been installed specially for us, and were very much appreciated. The house, itself, was great: sitting room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a little "library" room and a nice annex room adjoining the main bedroom. The interior decoration was really to be admired: beautiful soft tones of paint-work, very good quality furniture, charming decorations. It was a house the way I would love my own house to be! We were so very lucky. Also appreciated were the very clear instructions about the facilities of the house (and how to leave it at the end of our stay), and the fact that there were lots of board games, videos, books, info about St.Augustine, etc.

What was wonderful about the house, too, was the location. It is slap-bang in the middle of the historic centre of St.Augustine -- you can get everywhere on foot. We really felt as if we had joined the permanent community and become part of the St. Augustine population, and were able to visit all the sites with the greatest of ease -- and full enjoyment.

The house was very well equipped -- both from the linens point of view, as well as the china/glass/cutlery/utensils point of view -- and there is a charming garden set-up, with space for eating outside (weather permitting -- we were there over Christmas, so it was too chilly to sit outside for long periods).

We fully intend to return to St. Augustine one day in the future, and would not hesitate for a moment to try to stay in the same house again -- nor would we hesitate for a moment to recommend it to friends. Thank you very much for a grand stay in delightful surroundings.
