Emphasis on good design and a warm, welcoming minimalism in an open, flexible floor plan of 500 square feet.

We are a builder/artist and a musician/writer married for 39 years who are both in the midst of preparing for some degree of retirement from full time professional occupations. With the recent renovation of our large home, our goal is to provide our guests a beautiful, quiet, comfortable, safe and serene place for rest or study. We are also conscientious in terms of energy efficiency, environmental safety and sustainability since we believe that every person must do everything he or she can to contribute to the stewardship of our world. We live here at Blue Note Garden and make every effort to ensure your stay is a pleasant and productive one.

We found Blue Note Garden just after selling a 17-acre horse farm on the West side of town. We loved the barns and seven-gabled Victorian Gothic farmhouse we built on that property but we also spent a great deal of time repairing farm machinery and mowing pastures.
While we miss the farm and all of its animals, Blue Note Garden has no grass to mow, four seasons of wildflowers, and the house is as solid as the rock it is built on. We cannot imagine living anywhere else.

This guest suite is perfect for the solo traveler. Maximum occupancy is one person.
Please also note that our minimum stay is 7 nights. We do a meticulous cleaning of the guest suite between guest stays and cannot afford to do that for anything less than the minimum rental charge of $750.
