Charming, cozy 1 bedroom cottage, with extra sunroom/den area on 8 private acres with 500' of stream frontage, woods and fields surrounded by the Ducktrap River Conservancy. Lots of wildlife on the property. The cottage is not located on the stream but a short walk will take you to a wonderful sitting area at the stream on the property. The cottage is comfortable, light-filled, relaxing, tastefully decorated and equipped with all amenities, Wood floors throughout. Washer/dryer and high speed WiFi are in the cottage. Bedroom with comfy queen size bed and bathroom are upstairs. This is a very quiet, lovely property to relax and unwind.. There are extensive hiking trails which are accessible out the door of the cottage on the conservancy which adjoins the property. Pitcher Pond is across the street, where you can enjoy boating , fishing and swimming. Just walk down the private driveway and walk across the street , and you are there. Lincolnville Beach is a ten minute drive . Belfast and Camden, both very interesting towns are nearby with restaurants ,theatres, beaches, shopping and all kinds of activities.
There are two other rental units on the property, and each one feels private from the others.
My husband and i are are artists and teachers. We have owned rental properties for 22 years. We enjoy the quiet and beauty of Maine.
Dyan L Berk purchased this cottage in 2000
We fell in love with the privacy the property has to offer, the sound of the stream and a close up of the natural world. It is only 10 minutes from the ocean and from the town of Belfast. We are both artists and have used the other building on the property for our studio spaces
Very quiet and private. Great place for artists writers and people seeking restful quiet.. Yet close to all amenities in Belfast, Camden & Rockland
This is a lovely home away from home. We stayed here for our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better experience. It was so quiet, surrounded by nature, and with beautiful night skies to watch. Yet restaurants and sights were only a short car ride away. The perfect combination.
The owners were totally nice, extremely helpful, and accommodating. They made us feel very welcome. The cottage itself is a dream. Cozy, colorful, and charming. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a little private time to themselves, yet not be cut off from civilization either.
Our family of 2 plus a baby thoroughly enjoyed a two-month stay in the cottage this summer. The cottage is set peacefully at the end of a private driveway and surrounded by a well-kept lawn and lovely tall woods that sway in the breezes. On hot summer days we dunked our baby in the little stream a few yards through the woods behind the cottage. And on some uncommonly chilly summer days we lit a fire in the wood stove and stayed cozy inside!
The owners are always friendly and helpful, happy to offer any local tips or assistance (and they shared fresh herbs and vegetables from their garden!) yet very respectful of privacy. The cottage shares a driveway with the main house so it feels private and quiet, but not too secluded.
We cook a lot and appreciated that the kitchen and outdoor grill were well-equipped. We liked the open layout of the downstairs kitchen/dining/living area, and the enclosed sun porch is a nice bonus space for hanging out and peeking at the wild turkeys and rabbits that occasionally scamper through the yard. The queen-bedroom had more than enough space for our travel crib and large luggage, with room to spare.
The cottage makes a perfect base for exploring the midcoast region and beyond, to places like the Blue Hill peninsula and Acadia. Belfast is the nearest town, less than 10 minutes north, and it's a cool one, with lots of amenities. A little cove off of Pitcher Pond is a few minutes' walk from the cottage and provides a beautiful place to take the owners' canoe for a paddle. We also enjoyed plenty of nearby swim spots: Lincolnville Beach, Knight's Pond in Northport, Norton's Pond in Lincolnville, and Balance Rock on Lake Megunticook. There's even a lovely organic farmstand across Route 52, maybe half a mile walk from the cottage.
This is a great place to hang your hat!
The cottage is located in an area close to ponds , ocean , hiking trails, boating , fishing etc. The natural beauty is breathtaking. The
2 towns Belfast and Camden are filled with activities, cultural events and special events.
The property itself is surrounded by conservation land and hiking trails.
Pitcher pond is down the driveway and across the street
