Me and my friend stayed in this apartment for 5 nights during the winter (we spent our New Year's eve quietly in this chic apartment - drinking wine, eating pizza and watching the ball drop on TV). It's a perfect place to relax after a long tiring day in Manhattan. The neighborhood is very peaceful which is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is complete with everything you could ask for. Tony gave us maps and lists of places/restaurants which are really helpful for first timers in New York like us. They also gave us free coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. The bathroom is complete with toothbrush, toothpaste, robes, towels, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, etc as well. Tony told us that they want their guests to feel like they are staying in a five start hotel and he's totally right. We stayed in a hotel in DC a night before staying in this apartment and I could say that our stay at Tony and Gerri's was better than the one we had in the expensive hotel. The apartment also had a TV that is complete with premium channels, and a laptop. The kitchen is also complete with everything you need for cooking. We bought some groceries in the deli just half a block away from the apartment and cooked our breakfast everyday (we saved a lot of money!). Tony made sure we got everything we need and checked on us in the mid of our stay to ask if we need anything - they were very thoughtful. I booked this apartment basing on the reviews and it did not disappoint. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I'd definitely stay in this place again when I go back to New York and will tell all my family and friends to book this apartment when they visit the NYC.
Thank you again, Tony and Gerri! You are amazing hosts. This is our first time to stay in a vacation home rental and I must say that you guys set the bar high for our next hosts. :)
Tony took us on a tour around the immediate area. The Staten Island Ferry was a treat to be able to see downtown Manhattan in the morning and then again in the evening. It was always great to come home to our welcoming studio apartment. There was a great little restaurant called Beso that was on our walk back to the apartment. The apartment was well stocked with coffee, tea, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner. We even got a bottle of wine! Thanks for the kindness of Gerri and Tony for making our NYC trip memorable.
We arrived to our apartment, which was easy to find, in the afternoon. Tony was there to greet us and gave us an amazing tour of the immediate area and all the subway and city information we would need. Tourist books were available in the room and local take out menus for the nights you just want to relax. It had a nice secure entrance and private outdoor sitting area, which was nice after a long day in the city to sit and have a glass of wine. The ferry was about a 10 minute walk, depending on how bad your feet hurt from exploring the city! ;)
We felt safe walking to and from the ferry, even at night. Everything was provided for us in the room, from toothbrushes to coffee creamer. There is a mini Mart right around the corner for anything else you may need.
Thank you Tony and gerry for the wonderful stay and we really appreciate the gift as we were leaving. I am sure we will be back to visit and stay at your rental!
I stayed with my husband for our honeymoon in Staten Island. We loved the place. It was just perfect and had everything we needed and even more. It was very clean and we were offered new towels and linen in the middle of our stay. The electric fireplace made the apt. even more enjoyable.
The neighborhood is nice and the ferry is reachable in a few minutes.
The owners Gerry and Tony were so friendly and offered us their help in every situation. We had great conversations.
Thank you so much for this great week! It was so comfy and cozy.
We would recommend staying there to everyone.
Perfectly clean, quiet, safe, convenient place to stay for a NYC vacation. Every morning a ten-minute walk, picking up sandwiches at a deli on the way, to start the day with breakfast on the Staten Island Ferry and adventures beyond. Return at night on the Ferry, with you and your lady and the Lady, the Statue of Liberty, a romantic cruise you can say.
Very gracious hosts ready with maps and guidebooks to help show us the way, Tony made us feel right at home. He's a gent.
Firstly dealing with Evolve was a positive and smooth experience.
Our boutique home from home on Staten Island. Three of us stayed in the studio for two weeks . We loved staying in the apartment, it was spacious , very clean and had all the amenities we required. The outside space with the fountain was a delight, we had WiFi and great TV choice to help us chill out.
Gerri and Tony were attentive hosts who were there if we needed them although we liked to be independent.
The States Island ferry was a highlight and no more than 10 minutes walk from the studio. The ferry journey was a personal highlight as it meant we could feast our eyes on that magnificent skyline twice a day , and it's free and runs 24 hours a day.
We had a magnificent time and it waseems great to get away from the frenetic New York City but be back in it in 20 minutes.
We hope to go back some day and would love it if Gerri and Tony would allow us to stay in their lovely apartment.
