Would like to thank the owners for the cream scones waiting for us on arrival.
We have rented holiday homes all over the world and this has been one of our best breaks ever.
Booking the cottage was so quick and easy with the owner very responsive.
Information sent was comprehensive and helped with planning our stay.
The cottage was very clean and tidy and a true home from home. The welcoming scones, etc, flowers and basics in the fridge was also a pleasant surprise.
Cottage was nicely decorated and furnished - comfy sofas.
Kitchen small but well equipped with dishwasher and decent size fridge/freezer.
Little garden was useful for our al fresco dining - we were very lucky with the weather.
Location-wise, you are minutes from town with a choices of pubs, a bank and other little shops.
Food at the Earl of Chatham across the street was excellent and a very friendly waitress. In fact, have to stay most people in Cornwall are delightful and friendly.
Must not forget the Co-Op grocery store nearby which is so well stocked and we really didn't need to venture further for food during our stay. My Tesco home delivery was not necessary.
Some lovely walks in this part of the world including some that mean a car isn't always required.
All in all, a loverly rental property and an excellent base to venture out and see all the delights that Cornwall has to offer.
Definitely stay at Petroc Cottage again (and again!)
We spent a wonderful time there. Two great weeks in a nice and cosy home. Everything you need is there, fully equipped kitchen, cosy living room, wonderful garden. Everything you want to go, you can walk: shopping, Pubs, cafés. Could have moved directly in there. We definitely return.
Petroc cottage was a great place to stay, it is a cosy warm and inviting house, well decorated with all mod cons, yet still seems to retain the old world charm, with its log burning fire and exposed stonework. It was very clean and tidy upon arrival and we were welcomed in style with a plate of cornish cream teas awaiting us, as well as fresh flowers.
Lostwithiel is a great location for exploring the surrounding areas, and these have much to offer including some great countryside and coastal paths, as well as seaside towns and lovely gardens.
Within lostwithiel you will find yourself very well catered for as we found some lovely pubs and restaurants with good food to a high standard.
Overall we had a great time in the cottage and really enjoyed our stay there. I would recommend it to all as a home away from home in a great location.
We really enjoyed our week at Petroc Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything that you could need to make it a real home from home. The location is great with good pubs nearby that serve delicious meals. We had a fabulous meal at 'The River Brasserie', I wish it were closer as I'd be a regular!
If you don't want to use your car you don't have to as there are lovely walks on your doorstep, however it would be a shame to miss all that Cornwall has to offer.
