Why Georgianna Strode chose Quincy

This house was originally my great-grandmother's. It was built in 1932 in Quincy, Florida and was moved to Lake Talquin in the 1960s. My grandparents lived there and they loved it! They had an organic garden for decades. Granddaddy made unique items in his shop and Grandma landscaped the property.

What makes this house unique

This house has much of the original charm -- the 5-panel doors, original door handles, hardwood floors -- the original farm kitchen sink is still there but it's moved to the utility room.

beautiful and cozy

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time. :) We saw Manatees at Wakulla Springs, we jumped off the dock and swam with turtles. We also drove up and went to Wild Adventures for a day. This vacation was a wonderful time for us.

Thank you for sharing your home.

Wonderful Quiet Retreat

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful clean, classic and rustic home. Caught lots of catfish. Great getaway, WiFi would have made it perfect. Just a suggestion, with the smart tv and no cable, WiFi would grant access to Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Tranqil and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The property was very charming. The house was just as described. Georgianna added cute little touches like fresh flowers for our day of arrival. She communicated with us frequently throughout our stay, answering questions and making sure we had everything we needed. My family enjoyed fishing from the dock, the amazing sunsets, relaxing and bonding while playing board games. We definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back soon.

Very nice cozy and clean cabin on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great time. We have always stayed in Tallahassee hotels for FSU weekends. But my family is growing and we wanted a place to gather, relax, eat, and catch up. This cabin was the perfect place for all of the above. The owner was very responsive and communicated all the logistics. Instructions were very clear and we had no problems at all. We will be back!

This place is like stepping into the past. Quiet and serene, decorated with antiques and family photos, you feel like you're visiting family rather than renting from strangers.
