My husband, Calvin, and I both grew up in Lancaster County and we have a deep love for the land. My husband was a farmer until his late 20's at which time he went into the ministry and we pursued missionary work in Nigeria. We have raised 5 children and have 8 grandchildren. My husband owns a hard wood flooring business and I am a licensed massage therapist, health coach and author. Our home is built on one of the family farms and we love to share our beautiful gardens with friends and visitors. The flower gardens and turtle resort are my husband's passion and it shows!
Stephanie Greiner purchased this apartment in 2003
Our beautiful home is hidden away in the midst of the fertile Lancaster County farmland. We are only 5 minutes from the nearest town, but we live in a secluded, quiet neighborhood with only one other house nearby. Since we are now "Empty Nesters" we wanted to share our homey space with others who can appreciate being surrounded by nature and beauty
Whether we're sitting on the back deck watching the turtles bathing in the sun, listening to the gently waterfall, relaxing in the rejuvenating hot tub or gazing out over the fertile fields, our property is truly a haven of beauty and peace. Many people have commented on how peaceful they feel in our home and while wandering the grounds which are peppered with busy bird houses, flowers and bushes.
The people who live there were great and they were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here again and the only complaint I have is that I wish I was notified in advance that the owners would be staying there. Otherwise it was an awesome experience and I loved hearing about the owners story.
This was a very pleasant stay. This was the first time ever using a vacation home to getaway. So I was nervous already but not to mention I am from Washington, DC and this is a very country setting. However, this was a great surprise. My family and a friend family stayed at the home and the owners made us feel right at home and ensured that this was a safe and relaxing place. Once Calvin showed us around the home, it was clear that this would be a nice stay for us. My crew got settled in and it felt very homey for them. The kids instantly felt like this was their new home...in fact that's exactly what they called the space they had. By far the best part of the trip was just the small adventures like going to the Tuesday only flee market, Hershey Park and factory, exploring the country side, the Amish residents, Calvin's turtles and the wonderful places to eat. It all made a great surprising trip for us City folk.
If I could find something that didn't work for the trip it would be that the advertisement appeared to have the whole home to ourselves as oppose of a functional basement apartment. However, it was still a great stay and after it was done we felt like staying longer which shows we enjoyed the stay. Oh the home also had every detail covered like wifi, provided towels and toiletries, pots and pans, eating and drinking utensils, TV with cable, even a pack-n-play for the children under 2yrs. All of this made it a great experience.
Our family greatly enjoyed our stay. The surroundings were beautiful, the home was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It's a great location for those wanting to visit Lancaster and Hershey. The home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac with a great view from the hot tub! The owners made it very obvious that they take great care to make sure each guest feels welcomed and comfortable. We would definitely stay again!
We want to thank you for a great stay !! Our experience with Stephanie and Calvin was great. Great communication when we booked, greeted us when we arrived, and we enjoyed our serene stay with the waterfalls, pond, fishes and turtles ! And what a view of the country !! We took some great pictures ! There was a spa, but ended up not having enough time to try it. It is a walk out basement, and the hosts live upstairs, but they were so quiet with their Golden Retriever Rosie, we didn't even hear them at all during our stay ! We were stunned to see the size of the basement ! There was 2 bedrooms ( 1 Queen and one full size ) , nice decorated bathroom, good size kitchen with 2 tables and 4 chairs, and a huge living room with a futon full size bed, also we noticed a twin folding bed that could be used if needed. The sliding glass door in the living room lead to the patio with a couple tables and a BBQ grill. The house had everything we needed ; pots and pan, dishes, towels and linens, hair dryer, books, movies, stationary bicycle, we even had a piano on premises that my dad loved playing ! We were close to Lancaster, and about 18 miles from Hershey. We will definitely come back if we ever go to PA.
We met friends at this property and all of us were thrilled with the accommodations. And the close proximity to a great little country store was a special blessing.
We had a blast at their house..we we're a family with 3 kids,..they were waiting for us when we arrived and walk us throughout the apartment and welcoming us with so much love.....they have everything you could imagine in the house that u need for cooking, sleeping etc.... love the outside since he has a turtle collection and he was so nice to come and tell us everything about them even their names....definitely will stay again !!!!
