My husband and I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the Villa Alize. It was a spectacular week. We loved the location, the views, and the well-equipped nature of the wonderful cottage. Francis and Andrew could not be more helpful. Francis met us at the car barge and then waited while we did some quick grocery shopping. Driving in St. John is an adventure and the driveway to the cottage should be in a Jeep commercial, but the location on the peak is totally worth it! We've already booked the Villa again for next winter.
Everything worked as expected. The view is great, but better than that, the breeze:) The house is positioned well on the hill allowing it to take full advantage of the trade winds. You can not find a better location if you are there to take in the beaches/hikes St. John has to offer. We will happily stay there again.
We shared this rental place with another couple/friend. Francis was kind and met us even though we were fairly late in arriving due to a ferry from Charlotte Amalie that unexpectedly did not show up. The views were very nice. It was peaceful, quiet and mostly clean. The grill was a good one and we used it for dinner one night. The hot tub was pretty cold, even after was "turned on", but we did used it one night and became used to luke warm temps. The patio/gazebo is a nice space to have for dining, reading and relaxing. Nice to have the option to do laundry. It seemed the villa had been sprayed for "pests" prior to our arrival, we did find a couple of cockroaches early on. Owner was notified, responded quickly and was taking measures to treat once again. This did cause some anxiety, since we certainly did not want to bring back any "hitchhikers". We never did find a dishwashing cloth anywhere, used paper towels to wash our dishes, our fault we kept forgetting to ask. We enjoyed the proximity to several good restaurants in the area. The beach chairs were good to have as well.
It was our first time visiting the USVI, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Andrew was very hospitable and quick to get back to us when we had questions leading up to our trip. He also provided a very detailed and helpful booklet with guest instructions and things to do around the island. The friendly concierge, Francis, met us at the port and directed us all the way to the house. He was even kind enough to show us around for a couple hours, as we were unfamiliar with the island. The villa is just as advertised- clean, comfortable, and the view REALLY is that good. We very much enjoyed staying on the “quieter” side of the island closer to Coral Bay, instead of near Cruz Bay where tourists flock. Two thumbs up for Villa Alizé, Andrew, and Francis.
Great vacation home for my wife, 11 year old son and me! Very clean. Very quiet. Killer views. My son really enjoyed the hot tub! Good sized kitchen was perfect for us. Owner was very responsive and helpful as needed. His contact on St. John was great also. I asked that a blender be provided, since it wasn't listed, and this was taken care of by the owner no problem. Everything was as promised. Highly recommended.
My wife, along with 2 6 year olds spent a week at Villa Alize. We had a terrific time. We have stayed at numerous locations across the island (chocolate hole, bordeau mountain, coral bay), but this location was perfect. There is quick access to the north shore beaches and is also close to Coral Bay. We enjoy hitting the spots in coral bay after a day of beaching and swimming. Skinny Legs and Miss Lucy's are a couple of our favorite spots.
Our 2 girls enjoyed roaming the property while we were at Villa Alize. It is situated right at the top of Carolina and at the end of a road. The property is isolated and a great play area for kids. We enjoyed the hot tub and star gazing.
The description of the property is spot on and the photos are accurate. While we spent little time at the house, the accommodations were in good order. Andrew was super responsive with any questions leading up to the trip. Upon arrival Francis met us at the car ferry and took us to the house...the meet up and check in was flawless.
I would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to get away to St John for a great value. If you love going to St John you will enjoy Villa Alize.
