Great winter weekend

  • 5 of 5

Loved the complex (esp. the large hot tub above the main pool area), and the condo was super quiet and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and a very helpful/responsive owner. A perfect place for a long weekend with the family!

The chalet was very nice. It was equipped with everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay.

  • 5 of 5

After reading some of the earlier reviews, I was nervous it wouldn't have everything we needed, but it did! It's clear to me that Rijn (Ryan) really pays attention to the reviews and makes changes based on them.

The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and it was very clean and well cared for. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, as well as hiking around the property and Trillium Lake.

In addition the enjoying the place, Rijn was very easy to work with and extremely accommodating to us, which we really appreciated! We would definitely stay again and I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay!

Accessible Mount Hood Lodging

  • 4 of 5

The townhome was clean and in a great location. The pictures really didn't do the grounds justice, as just a short walk away there is a lovely pond with views of the mountain. It was a great place for a jog or an easy hike with kids through the woods. Our 2 four year olds enjoyed it as much as we did.

The living space, master, and secondary room were comfy, and the kitchen was equipped well enough. Our only real complaint is that the kids' "room" with the bunk beds is more of a curtained large closet in the hallway with no ventilation or sound proofing. I suppose in the winter it would be a great room to stay warm, but during the summer the girls found it pretty stifling in there. The light in there was also super dim and took 15 minutes to brighten up too, so that space was pretty useless for us. We also found it a little odd that we had to make our own beds when we got there, and searched the place to find the towels still in the dryer. But maybe we caught the cleaning crew on an off-day or the people leaving before us got out late. It wasn't a big deal.

We were really in it for the location. The home is an easy short walk to Gov. Camp restaurants and shops, as well as Ski Bowl theme park. It took about 10 min to get to Timberline too. Parking was easy - one car in the garage and one in the nearby overflow spot. The fire pit was nice and, while we didn't make use of the hot tub or pool, they seemed to be clean and popular hang out spots, as advertised. As a whole, the community feels pretty family and ski-traveler friendly, offering the basics with a good location.

A dude's place for dudes

  • 3 of 5

A fantastic place owned by a dude, designed for dudes. But perhaps missing a few key amenities that a family might expect: wash cloths, hand towels (kitchen excepted), spatula (plenty of fry pans though), strainer or colander, scissors, hair dryer, etc etc. Also found it strange that the instructions state that one must ONLY use pool towels for the pool, but there was only one towel that I would define as 'pool'. And I mean one pool towel for the entire condo - not one per person. Smoke detectors were all missing or dangling from the ceiling with batteries removed.

Could not get the fire place working (spark but no flame) but the pool key was easy to find as was the wi-fi. We would stay here again, but definitely pack differently given the sparse amenities. Nice resort though (popular with teens who are there for ski racing school) and a fantastic location. Watch out for them playing ball in the street.

Glad it was warm as there were only two blankets despite there being 4 beds!

Owner's Response: Hopefully this response will clear up some of the things Barbara had concerns with. Our unit is made for families. We have 12 children between the two families and they love the chalet. I feel bad because had I known Barbara was not finding things, I would have helped. I have added pictures of our towels and the hair dryer. We also have all of the items necessary to cook a Thanksgiving dinner including a colander and spatula. As far as blankets go there are two on each bed and more in the closets inside the chalet and storage closet. During the summer we remove some of the covers because it gets really hot upstairs, but they are still accessible. As with all of our rentals I am very accessible. If there is ever an issue I will work very hard to help. We have a lot of renters and sometimes they put things in places that make it hard to find. If you feel that our place should have something, but can not find it, it probably is just misplaced. Call us and hopefully we can help.

Good condo, resort and location

  • 4 of 5

If you plan on doing anything outside of the place you stay near Mt Hood then Government Camp is where you'll want to be and this condo fits the bill very well. It looks good, is comfortable and the resort is well taken care of, plus you can walk to anything in Gov't Camp, which is a bonus. The owner is very responsive which is also a bonus. You probably want to pack some soap, shampoo and maybe a hair dryer!
