About The Owner

We are long time Phoenix Arizona residents, and have always loved to escape the summer's heat by treking north to Arizona's Rim Country. We love taking long weekends just to escape the heat and relax in the high country. Without the lights of the city, the stargazing is crystal clear and dramatic.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2005

Why The Owner chose Arizona

This property is relatively close to the Phoenix Metro area (only about 90 minutes depending on valley location) , so getting there is quick and ideal for long weekend escapes.

What makes this cabin unique

While at the cabin, we love to relax outside on the deck and take long walks in the cool weather. Swimming in Fossil Creek is fun and a regular activity for us. The water temperature is always comfortable. See the virtual tour for Fossil Creek pictures. If you've never seen Tonto Natural Bridge, you've missed one of natures wonders. It is just minutes from our cabin

Very cute cabin but disconnected

  • 4 of 5

I wish I could give two scores for the cabin. It gets a 5 for being a nice rustic style cabin for a getaway. Then I give it a 1 for its ability to access the outside world. The ad stated it had internet but I found out 2 days before we went it didn't. Apparently you have to "hover" your cursor over where it says it has internet under Amenities for a pop up to come up saying it doesn't. After calling the owner to confirm, he said it did have a good Verizon signal, so I was hoping to be able to hotspot to my laptop. But when we got there we had no phone connection inside the cabin and one lonely bar out on the porch, which resulted in some successful calls and a lot of dropped ones. Unfortunately because I still had business to take care of while there that required a lot of driving back and forth to town to get a connection.

Other than those issues, it was a nice little cabin with the TV and other amenities to have a comfortable visit. My request to the owner was to make it VERY clear for future renters what the cabin actually had and didn't have.

We visit your cozy cabin at least once each summer. It is thoughtfully stocked w / utensils, bedding, books and games. The TV, VCR/DVD player and radio are very easy to enjoy. We were blessed with cool rain this week -- got down to 62 degrees. Always peaceful and quiet. Thank you Tim & Ann.

Fantastic Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a real gem! Pristine condition, nicely decorated and well equipped. Great location, close to restaurants, hiking trails, sight seeing or just relaxing in the cool pines enjoying the great views. Tim and Ann were very responsive to our last minute reservation request and made the process a breeze. We will be back! Hopefully this fall.

Thank you

A place to unravel and disconnect yourself from the world!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot describe how peaceful it was out here. The house is perfect for couples. My husband and I, both of us have hectic office life and staying here away from our computers and smartphones was one of the best weekends of our lives.

The cabin is very beautiful, well decorated, felt like home. It has a fully equipped and organized kitchen. I had a great time cooking. There was a barbecue which we used once. It was very nice and clean.

I lit scented candles. They were so fragrant!

The restroom was neat. There was a washer and dryer which was a plus.

Don't forget to sit out in the bench on the side of the cabin. Every morning we watched the birds, hares, and The evenings are amazing. Just sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air hinted with the scent of pine is refreshing. We saw an elk in the Fossil creek road on the evening haha!

We visited Pine, Tonto Natural Bridge. They are located pretty nearby. The Isabella Hunt Memorial Public Library was a cute library which had information about the Fossil creek trails (very informative).

There are wonderful local restaurants. I tried out the Old Country Inn. The music and Pizza was great.

We didn't have internet or Phone service (T-Mobile) but that is what made the vacation peaceful. I had made sure to take printouts of all the things I need. They have a bulletin board which gives all the information we need.

Thank you Tim for such a beautiful cabin! Definitely a memory to cherish a lifetime!

Very nice cabin and outside deck, very enjoyable place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was very pleasant and modern, comfortable bed and couches, unlike some cabins we have rented! The kitchen and dining area are roomy and well stocked with everything you need. Two lovely decks/porches where you can sit and read, watch the birds or look at stars at night Also has a very nice grill. Nicely situated, not too close to town, and close to Fossil Creek Trailhead, a beautiful hike, but a strenuous hike back up, so be prepared! Also worth visiting, especially with children, is the goat farm just a minute from the property. Would definitely rent this place again.
