Lovely home in residential area close to downtown and the Ingersoll business district. Newly remodeled, this 3 br, 2 bath home will easily accomodate 10 people. Comfortable beds and nice linens await you. Sun room has 2 queen sleeper sofas, all bedrooms have queen beds. Laundry facilities for your use. Within walking distance to a grocery store and the Ingersoll business district and 1/2 mile from Drake University or Des Moines University. Large deck and gas grill. 15-20 min. from any where in the Des Moines metro area.
We are a group of 6 women who travel together for one long weekend each year. Such a beautiful property with wonderful , comfortable beds and bedding to sleep up to 10.
The house is just a few miles from downtown Des Moines and the East Village shopping area, Riverwalk, the Capitol, Terrace Hill and the botanical garden. We enjoyed being close and yet in a neighborhood. It is surrounded by other homes, quiet and pretty. It is safe to walk and jog in the neighborhood. There is a grocery within 1/2 mile. There are numerous places to eat out nearby as well. It has a nice deck and peaceful back yard. Parking is adequate on off street driveway for about 3-4 bigger cars, we had 2 van size vehicles and it was plenty for us.
The home is a wonderful older style home, but has been fully renovated and beautifully decorated.
3 upstairs bedrooms with comfortable queen beds and a full bath. Lower level has a room with 2 comfortable queen sleep sofas and a bath with a large shower. The kitchen is well equipped and was what we needed to have meals at home away from home.Cooking spray, some basic spices, a huge fridge and freezer, decent knives and all the serving ware you will need for a stay. Leslie even supplied laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap and all linens and towels.
We loved the dining area right off of the kitchen,as we could all sit together to have our meals. The living area has an open sitting area where we could all sit together to chat and catch up, as well as relax to read or do hand crafts. You can even do a spot of laundry if needed as washer and dryer are also available.
Leslie the owner is very easy to reach and provided us with a gift of local chocolates and coffee. It is easy to get into the secured entry and we had free run of the entire property. We had no problems during our stay, but I have confidence she would have promptly replied and resolved them if we did. Check in 4 pm but she let us in a bit early since no one stayed just before us. Check out 11 am and no big requirements to check out, just empty garbage, put dishes in dishwasher and run it, move used linens and towels to laundry area, lock up and go! We had a very peaceful comfortable well appointed stay and if we ever travel to Des Moines again, I would definitely stay here again. We would recommend this location to anyone!
We rented this home to spend the week in Des Moines for our son's wedding. It is a beautiful home, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. 8 adults slept comfortably but there would have been room for 10. Large gathering areas also provided room for other out of town guests to drop in for visits and meals during the week. Although the 3 bedrooms and 1 bath are upstairs the large downstairs family room had comfortable sofa beds and there is a great bathroom on the main floor. Centrally located with quick access to the freeway in a lovely, quiet neighborhood I would stay here again. Thanks Leslie!
Our in-laws stayed here for our wedding. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had about the property. Clean, great location! Fit our large group well! Thanks!
This was a perfect location for our group of 9 adults and one infant. Seating was ample in both the living room and at the dining room table, the kitchen was well-equipped and well-stocked with basic cooking requirements, the mattresses and bed linens were good quality and quite comfortable, and the interior of the house was very clean. Its central location (i.e., within easy walking distance of a large grocery store, several restaurants and two excellent coffee houses, and easy driving distance of airport/freeway access/downtown) could not have been better for our purposes. The owner was very responsive at every step of the way--pre-visit, while we were there and post-visit. All of us were very happy to have had this as our home-base during our stay in Des Moines.
We rented the property for our 30 year Roosevelt High School reunion and the house was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Leslie was fantastic to work with and even left us excellent coffee and chocolates. I will definitely rent the house again and have had several friends ask for the contact information so they can rent it for their next visit to Des. Moines.
Located within the historic North of Grand Neighborhood the 32nd Street home is within walking distance of the Ingersoll business and entertainment district, depending on your destination. Drake University is aproximately 3/4 mile north and Des Moines University is about 1/2 mile south. Very convienent, central location. 1/4 mile from I-235.
