About Eli Kent

We love to travel within the US and abroad, often using VRBO for our own travel bookings, most recently in the Exumas.

We are an active family, enjoying the many things to do in the great outdoors of the Woodstock/Barnard area. Skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, horseback riding and swimming are among our favorites.

Eli Kent purchased this cabin in 1997

Why Eli Kent chose Eastern Vermont

My husband grew up in Woodstock and we couldn't imagine a better place to escape from our busy life in Boston. His parents live at the property next door and are the caretakers of the cabin, ensuring all your needs are met.

We got engaged here on the top of Mt. Tom and have created many priceless memories in this idyllic setting.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is private, yet within a 15 minute drive to the town of Woodstock, Quechee, Mt. Tom and Suicide Six.

There are plenty of activities to do right outside the cabin. You are welcome to use our snowshoes, canoe and chairs/floats etc. to swim in the pond. We are a short and beautiful walk away from Lime Pond.

There are numerous wonderful restaurants and seasonal activities to enjoy. We are happy to suggest different dining options to you. They range from upscale to casual family pizza restaurants. Some

activities include the summer concert series at Suicide Six, The Chili Cookoff, The Covered Bridge 1/2 Marathon, Visiting the Mt. Tom Farmers Market, Billings Farm, The Woodstock Farmers Market.....

Great cabin and property = real getaway!

  • 4 of 5

Lovely property with million dollar views. Want to come back in winter! Quaint and charming cabin is well appointed with nice kitchen. Rustic only in sense of one bath (downstairs) and sloped low ceiling in bedrooms upstairs.

Excellent place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

Hearing the waterfall while enjoying the night sky next to the fire melted any stress we had away. The place is a perfect cozy getaway from the world's noise. We had a great time canoeing and hiking in the area. Woodstock delivers on excellent dining. A great time!

Great house on a waterfall!

  • 5 of 5

We have a great time at this cabin! Lots of natural light, beautiful deck overlooking the waterfall and a grill where we did all our dinner cooking. Full kitchen is also available where we made breakfasts. Amount of space was perfect for husband, me & 2 little kids. We went on hikes close by in Woodstock and had lunches at the Farmer's Market. Would definitely recommend this place!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin truly is charming! It sits up on a nice quiet area w/ a waterfall right next to it. It has plenty of natural lighting and has a good amount of space for four. The kitchen was nicely stocked w/ plenty of utensils and such. It has a gas stove, which is the main source of heat, and a wood-burning stove in addition...charming!

Christie was pleasant to work with and relatively quick to respond to any concerns.

We came to ski this time but would love to return in the summer some time!

Wonderful winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is in a beautiful secluded area with all the amenities you could want. Wood burning stove is great, plenty of wood available. The kitchen is well equipped and even has a cheese grater which is good because we forgot ours! 2 bedrooms are comfortable if a bit snug for the taller folks. Bathroom is modern and plenty of hot water. There are lots of fun activities to do and good places to eat in Woodstock and beyond. If you came in summer there is a nice looking pond. A+
