Why Dana L. Rees chose Noe Valley
The ROOFTOP SUNROOM is literally that, a room perched on the roof of a two unit building in San Francisco's Noe Valley. You view is panoramic from Twin Peaks looking west sweeping around to San Francisco Bay looking east.
What makes this Studio unique
San Francisco is a city of neighborhoods and Noe Valley is one of the nicest. It is in a part of The City that the sun shines brightly when much of the rest of San Francisco is in the Fog. It is a neighborhood where you walk! Walk to the shops and stores on 24th St., or find wonerful restaurants just blocks away on Church St. Walk to a cheese store, meat market, or take in the Saturday morning Farmers' Market. Walk in any direction and you will find a coffee shop where you can sit and relax enjoying your tea or coffee.

Would we recommend? Yes and Yes!!
What an amazing cute little place! Close to everything we needed. Public transportation was easy to get to. The unit is super sweet with the most amazing views. The unit had everything you will need. We shopped at the Whole Foods but we recommend that you do the Safeway instead. Still fresh foods and good variety. Clean market and more than half the price and in walking distance. Now how about our hosts!! Dana and Joe were so very sweet and patient he showed us such warm and welcoming hospitality. The stairs gave us a run for our money but I lost 2lbs!! Do not pass this place by it was great!!
The host's all-encompassing kindness was the most remarkable. Thanks
Perfect home for 2 weeks in Noe Valley for this Solo Traveller
From a wealth of information and a friendly interest prior to my arrival (including answering some fairly basic tourist questions) and then a thorough check in when I got there, Dana was the perfect host.
The unit comes with a folder of ideas of things to do in the city (which is easily accessible from the J line tram a block away) which Dana kindly keeps up to date and he also provides a "bible" of info about the apartment which includes a local map, cafe and restaurant recommendations, where the nearest good food shops are and so on.
He is on hand by text if you need him, but invisible if you dont ....a perfect host.
The apartment is lovely, a big spacious naturally lit bedroom, with a shower room and loo, and then a kitchen as well with enough mod cons to be able to prepare simple meals. There is also a hall with hanging space too.
The real selling point of this apartment in my opinion are the views and the neighbourhood. This apartment has windows on 3 out of 4 sides giving you the best possible views out of Noe Valley, and in the distance Twin Peaks, Bernal Heights and The Mission. And as night falls it just gets prettier.
In the neighbourhood there is a main street a couple of streets away (24th St) which is the main shopping area, altho there are a couple of little shops close at hand for milk etc. Getting into the city couldnt be easier, Dana will kindly lend you a Clipper card (similar to a London Oyster card) which you can load with a Muni pass and this enables you to jump on buses and trams.
There's a J- line tram straight into the heart of the city 5 minutes from the front door and buses too i daresay but i always caught the trams which are clean and convenient.
I loved my stay and would recommend this neighbourhood, this property and Dana specifically as a host, to anyone.
Thank you Dana.
This was my first guest for Great Britain and she was a delight to have. She left the room in impeccable condition when she checked out. Even though I thoroughly clean the room between each guest, (even the dishes get rewashed), it was a delight to walk into the room that had been kept so nice and neat. Unfortunately, the guest had to put up with no shade on one of the windows which was being replaced, and I am grateful for her patience. (The new shade has been installed). Upon leaving, she told me how much she enjoyed wandering around my neighborhood., Noe Valley ,in San Francisco. A delightful residential area of mix of all victorian homes and flats. I would certainly recommend her as a guest.
Wasn't kidding about that view
I stayed here a full week for a conference and found Dana to be a superb host. Welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and quick to communicate. He also knows the area really well and is happy to point you in the direction of whatever you need. SF is littered with so many interesting cafes and restaurants!
The location of the place couldn't be beat, either. It's quiet and very close to the J train, making access to much of the rest of the city quite easy. I really can't think of anything negative about the place. It was exactly what I was looking for.
This was a lovely young man from Southern California, here for a conference on the digital gaming industry. I enjoyed having him and enjoyed talking with him on how quickly things change from one generation to another, especially on the internet. He enjoyed staying here for the quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to downtown and his conference, and away from the hustle and bustle.
Can’t say enough about the property and Dana our host. Beautiful rooftop room with spectacular views; clean, bright, and airy. Was so special to experience San Francisco as a ‘resident’. Thanks for a special week Dana.
Always fun to have people respond to my rooftop sunroom like this. Their son lives in San Francisco but he had to work most of the time they were here, but that didn't stop them from having a great time. Thanks for the wonderful Review.
Stunning, Comfortable Sun Riom
I would highly recommend staying here in the sun room in Noe Valley. Upon arrival, Dana provided a wealth of information about the neighborhood and how to get around using public transportation. Whenever I had a question, he was quick with his replies.
The J Church tram is a block and 1/2 away, which I used to get to the mission district each day for my training, and can be used to get elsewhere in SF. There are numerous restaurants and a Whole Foods nearby for all your needs.
I would gladly stay here again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality, Dana!
Enjoyed have her as a guest. She was in town for a yoga workshop. Would love to have her back when she comes for additional workshops but unfortunately I'm already booked for those dates. Was really nice that her husband was able to join her for Valentine's weekend. First rate guest.
