About Philip & Janine Murray

We are a family who live in Aberdeen and rented Firbush lodge from the previous owners and immediately fell in love with the surroundings and all you can do in this area. We have been down numerous times over the last 8 years and never get fed up of returning, just wish we could do it more. The Murrays Aberdeen

Philip & Janine Murray purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Philip & Janine Murray chose Perth and Kinross

We loved the location, the fantastic views, the peace and tranquility - and when the children were small we loved the fact that we could just open the door and let them out to play on their own while still being able to keep an eye on them. Now they are bigger and interested in water sports and cycling the lodge is still ideally situated.

What makes this chalet unique

At Firbush you can watch an ever changing but always beautiful landscape from a breathtaking summer sunrise, an amazing mist covered autumn loch to a stunning winter snow scene from the comfort of the balcony. With or without children, for a few nights or for a longer stay, it is the perfect location and base to discover everything Perthshire has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Had the most perfect summer holiday. Weather was amazing. Lodge was so homely and welcoming with amazing views. Got up really early some mornings just to sit and watch the sun rise. Kids were outside from morning til night, swimming in the loch, playing on the field and walking in the woods. Lots of lovely barbeques on the little beaches that can only be reached by boat. Boat trips and canoes were great fun. No-one wants to leave. Can't wait to come back.

Relaxing, beautiful and centric

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at the lodge for a week with my wife and 3 kids.

The kids were able to go out and about by themselves and really enjoyed just being able to explore around the area.

The views are absolutely amazing and we didn't want to leave. The kids kept on asking if we could stay there forever.

The lodge is very comfortable, fully equipped, spacious and has a very relaxing feel to it.

You can plan activities at the lodge, stay and relax or can also go on day trips to the sorounding areas. We went to Fort Williams, Stirling Castle, Horse Riding and many other things.

Wonderful place to stay in beautiful surrounding

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is very clean and tidy, equipped with everything we needed and more and really decorated with love. It's close to the waterfront, so you have a stunning view over Loch Tay. There are ducks and birds to feed (a joy not only for kids), there are plenty of possibilities to get sporty, and the whole site is very family-friendly. And on top, the owners are really friendly and helpful - thank you so much!

Absolutely amazing and homely! It couldn't have been better. Perfect for kids, dogs and parents.

We arrived on Saturday 23rd July and followed Janines advice with regards to an Asda on line shop, which was waiting for us when we arrived. Good advice. The lodge was just perfect. Neil walked in and announced that he wasn't going home. It was so comfortable and homely. We felt relaxed immediately. The kids loved it as there was plently for them to do. Building dens in the wood, frisby golf, putting, paddling and swimming in the Loch. The dogs loved it too! If they weren't playing cricket or golf with the kids they were swimming in the Loch. The site and lodge was so clean and tidy. There is certainly plently to do or if you prefer to just sit outside with a good book and just enjoy the specatular views. I would never get tired of the views. There were plently of books, games and DVD's in the lodge. The onsite Bistro was excellent for food.

Janine and Phil we could certainly never thank you enough for allowing us to holiday in your beautiful lodge for 2 weeks. It had to be one of my best holidays and favourite places.

The service and communication that we received from Janine and Phil could not be faulted. They were so helpful and Janine it was lovely to meet you. We will most definitely be back and will most certainly recommend you and your beautiful Firbush lodge to family and friends.

Thank you again for an amazing, relaxing holiday!!! The Aston family xx
