A modern, bright air-conditioned apartment in a charming & luxurious complex. Situated in the elegant, historic & unspoilt town of Tavira. We have 1 Dble Bedroom (King size Bed) & 1 Twin Bedroom with a further Dble Sofa Bed in the living area. Our apartment is family friendly with cot and high chair available. There are 2 bathrooms, dining area, balcony & a very well equipped kitchen (including washing machine & dishwasher!) The apartment is in the quiet, tranquil setting of Tavira Garden with immaculate mature grounds. Facilities on the complex include BBQ area, children's playground, 2 large pools with children's pools attached, Tennis & Football Courts, Boules pitch, Gym, Restaurant and Bar. There is a large new supermarket 2 mins walk from the apartment. In the area are plenty of good restaurants, bars, historic sites, water sports, water parks & golf courses. The nearby beach on Tavira Island boasts 18km of golden sand that gentle slopes into the sea making it perfect for children

The air-conditioning unit in the living room also has heat so is suitable for winter let. There is an iron and ironing board available (sorry can't provide someone to do it for you!!) We can also recommend and help organise a car rental company, we have no affiliation with them but have used them ourselves many times and recommend them to many renters with 100% satisfied customers so far! There is ample free, safe parking right outside the apartment. Please note there may be a small charge for the use of the Tennis Courts (Racquets and Balls can be hired) and Gym. We have books to read, children's beach toys, sun shades, mats and a cool box and ice packs all available for use. There is internet access in the bar / restaurant area.

Very nice apartment, with plenty of room and great location for the swimming pools, bar/restaurant and local shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and rediscovered life without the internet - the wifi is really so poor that we resorted to reading books, playing games and not wasting our life looking at a screen! The swimming pool was great, as were the beaches a short drive away and although we are old hands at visiting Tavira we always find something new to see or do, most of which is within walking distance.

To summarise: we would definitely stay here again and love the area. The lack of decent wifi was not the end of the world and even our teenage sons quite enjoyed doing other things. Only note of caution I would add is that walking into town is quite dangerous due to the busy road, however taxis are very reasonable.

Very nice apartment

Very nice clean apartment and owners very friendly, accessible and quick to communicate. There is a 20 minute walk to town which is fine but taxis are about 5€ if you prefer. Nice pools and good to have a bar/cafe onsite. Cheap beer, toasties/burgers etc. Wifi doesn't really work but if you have a dongle, you can get a lot of data for good value in the nearby shopping centre. Short walk to an even closer supermarket. There is a small balcony which you don't see in pictures - nice to have this to sit out on. It was quite hot at night as AC is only in the living room but you do get acclimatised after a couple of days. Only slight bug for us was we had to lift a buggy up a lot of steps as no lift or sloped access. Good exercise I suppose!. Thanks Emma and Sergio!

Clean and spacious, good location.

We had a lovely five day break in Tavira.

The owners mother in law met us at the apartment and even though she didn't speak English she made us very welcome.

The apartment was very clean and rooms were spacious. Great having two bathrooms too.

As it was very hot when we were there 36 degrees at 7 o clock! It was great having a pool, and access to a bar.

Only downside was bad wifi for some of my friends who had to do some work from apartment (almost impossible)!

Great location, poor internet

We arrived in Faro from Lisbon by train and picked up our rental car at the train station. The owner Emma had told me about a local rental car agency that would bring the car to the train station (vs. the airport) which was very convenient. The location of the apartment in Tavira is very convenient. The supermarket for groceries and cash machine (for foreign cards) is a 5 minute drive and you can be in the center of Tavira in about 15 minutes. The main reason why I have not given a higher rating is that the internet connection didn't work for most of our time there. The signal is not provided by the apartment itself but by the reception of the apartment complex and in this case didn't work well. The internet may not be an issue for anyone looking to disconnect, but it was important for us at this time because we had to connect to family around the world over the Christmas holidays and was not able to. The apartment was also didn't warm up sufficiently and so was very uncomfortable on cold days.

Wonderful apartment, exactly as described.

This apartment and facilities were perfect and spotlessly clean. The complex had everything that we needed, café / bar for lunch and swimming pool.

The location was great. Beautiful town, traditional Portuguese - a vast array of restaurants to choose from. Friendly locals...... Could not have asked for more.

Perfect holiday with a group of friends. Although this apartment and location would also suit families with young children or those retired. Beautiful quiet spot on the edge of town.

Wonderful hosts, easy to contact, great communications... rectified a problem that we had straight away.

Would definitely go back.

Tavira is situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and is famous for being one of the best 'unspoilt' areas of the Algarve. The town has beautiful architecture, historic sites, many old churches and art galleries. The area is also a 'Hotspot 'for bird watching. There are lots of good bars and restaurants which cater for most tastes, as well as a nightclub on the outskirts of the town. Bikes can be hired in the town centre. During the summer months there is free live entertainment most evenings in the vibrant, picturesque, town square. The beach boasts 18km of golden sand with popular water sports available as well as showers, restaurants and bars. There are three Golf Courses within 5 mins drive of Tavira Garden. A new shopping centre is currently being built and will be completed by 2009 in the meantime there is a large shopping centre in Faro (25 mins drive). Spain is only 20mins to the East & the beautiful Seville 2 hours drive away.
