About Suki Stobbs
Tim and I live on site with my family in The Farmhouse. We were born and brought up in Scotland. Property is our business and these holiday rentals are part of that business. I work from home so am delighted to bump into guests and have a chat! Feel free to ask about things to see and do in the area or further afield. You will spot me walking the dogs! Tim my husband is now totally involved with the business and can deal with any queries and all maintenance issues.
Suki Stobbs purchased this Cottage in 1995
Why Suki Stobbs chose Perth
We moved to this location from Fife. We wanted great views and country location. In fact the location is a winner for most people who come here - we are perfectly set up for the fabulous wedding venues in the area - especially Guardswell which is next door. Some guests want proximity to Dundee, others want easy access to Edinburgh and others want to be able to get to St. Andrews and all of the golf courses over in Fife or here in Perthshire or Angus. We took a few years to convert an old farm steading into the holiday cottages called Pitmiddle and Outfield. We are delighted with the result and opened for business way back in 2005, can't believe it is that long ago. Honeysuckle always existed as a little bothy so we decorated it in the same colours and promoted it from a long term rental to a holiday let. We have tried to cover every eventuality offering a 1 bedroom cottage, 2 bedroom cottage, 3 bedroom cottage or the 2 joined together to give a 5 bedroom cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
We have evolved into a wellness retreat with 3 wood fired hot tubs and a wood fired sauna along with our wellness gym. There are plenty of cycle routes and walks from your front door. As you walk around up here you have the most fantastic views towards Abernyte village, The River Tay and King's Seat. You feel on top of the world - almost alpine (especially in the snow!). All guests can use the summer house above the tennis court and take in the rolling countryside around us. We are however only 20 minutes by car to either Dundee or Perth city centres. We now have the V&A museum in Dundee city centre - 20/25 minutes away We are 'quite green' - you will spot our wind turbine which we hope will cover our electricity costs - it's only a little one but we have high hopes! All properties have reclaimed wooden flooring and use a soak away drainage system. We also have our own private water supply with its water treatment room where the water is constantly filtered and backwashed daily. Pitmiddle and Outfield also benefit from underfloor heating powered by the ground source heat pump in Outfield. We hope too you will enjoy the animals round about. We had our own alpacas and hens but now we just have a few pet sheep and in the summer our neighbouring farmer puts some of his sheep in 1 of our fields. We do also provide satellite wifi for our guests which is now something I believe people come to expect. Help yourselves to logs, they all come from here.

We booked Outfield cottage for a friends very special birthday weekend away. The cottage and facilities were absolutely fantastic and situated in a stunning rural part of Perthshire! Could not fault anything the whole weekend. Suki and Tim were just amazing and very helpful. Excellent holiday cottage, would very highly recommend a stay at Outfield Cottage.
Thank you for taking the trouble to review. We welcome lots of groups here and we are delighted your weekend was such a success. We can accommodate 2 - 12 people on site.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, its a beautiful remote cottage with everything you need for a relaxing time. We all loved the hot tub & tennis court. Comfy beds and fluffy towels
Good to meet you all and glad the half term break was a success and you found things to do. Thanks very much for reviewing.
A beautiful cottage in a fantastic location with great views from the living area and lots of walks round about. The hot tub, sauna and gym are great additions. A great place for a break away with family/friends.
Delighted your short break went well and that you managed to enjoy our views and facilities in and around Outfield, thank you for reviewing.
Location, photos, description and reviews were accurate!! Our stay was focused on attending Solheim golf @ Gleneagles GC in Perthshire. Easy travel, with car hire, to Perth, Dundee, Angus, Carnoustie, St Andrew's, etc.
Suki & Tim were wonderful hosts. Just enough info & suggestions for our stay. Balanced with respecting our privacy so we felt like we were home! We ran out of days to take in a hot tub, sauna & hike. Which in our book means a return visit is in our future!!!
Communication & attention to details was much appreciated. Suki was great about managing a frozen freezer on day one!
A real positive in our book was the `green approach`to this property. Cheers to Suki & Tim for being conscientious property owners.
Only con were a few spiders but given the location we managed to reside in harmony during our stay.
We stayed 9/11-9/18.
We very much enjoyed meeting you all - this was a big trip you were on and so glad you managed to pack everything in and that you appreciated your surroundings. Thank you so much for the comprehensive review.
Relaxed rural charm
We had a great stay at Outfield.
Incredibly relaxing and perfect for us all including the two dogs.
Tim and suki were welcoming and friendly hosts and the accommodation was great - both cosy and big enough for us to get away from each other if needed.
We had a great time with the hot tub, sauna and dunking in Tim’s outdoor bath with a view!
Would definitely recommend and we can’t wait to come back!
We love seeing people enjoying their surroundings and making use of all the facilities. Very much hope to see you again.
This property is on a small farm in The Carse of Gowrie only a mile from Abernyte. We are 20 minutes from Dundee city centre and 20 minutes (by car) from Perth city centre. Although rural we are about 7 minutes by car to the dual carriageway and then it is an hour to Edinburgh or an hour and a bit to the outskirts of Glasgow or within an hour you are up in the Highlands. Golf in Blairgowrie is 20 minutes away or golf in St. Andrews is 40 minutes away. Fishing in nearby lochs or on The River Tay is all within easy reach.
Other Activities: Shared table tennis and pool table on site as will as tennis court and walking
Golf: Blairgowrie golf course is within a 20 minute drive, it has the superb Rosemount and Landsdowne courses as well as the Wee Course. Visitor rates can be found on their website.
There is also golfing at Piperdam resort and then 40 minutes away you have all the courses of St. Andrews.
Ski: Just over an hour away you have the slopes of Glenshee. Or the far side of Edinburgh you have the artificial ski slope at Hillend.
