Only steps away from sugary white sand and turquoise Gulf water! Newly renovated cottage will have yourself begging to be in a 'Pickle'. MBR has King suite, private bath and balcony overlooking the ocean and breathtaking San Blas sunsets. Two Queen bedrooms have newly added decks for enjoying unobstructed bay views. Kids room has Twin/full bunk.

Smell the loamy odor of the bay side air begin to mix with the salty astringence of the sea breeze, as the mainland starts to heat up and pull the breeze in. But inside the 'Pickle' the smell of coffee is giving way to the aroma of Old Bay as the place comes to life in that lazy summer-at-the-beach way. Each morning, the most important question becomes (after lunch is resolved) should I walk or ride my bicycle to begin intensive shelling?

Why The Pickle chose Port St. Joe

While exploring the area, we discovered San Blas. So we vacationed here 3 times Summer of 2011. We purchased our house late September and began renovation in December 2011.

Mary and the folks at Coastal Joe where wonderful. We did have a few issues and they were able to take care of most of them. The hot water heater was broken and a plumber was sent to repair. Vacuum cleaner broken and they sent over a substitute. These were all minor issues that they took care of immediately. The outside grill was non functioning and the property should not have been listed with a gas grill. The most serious issue was the beach access. I have a bad knee and was not able to drop the four feet to the beach. This is not a fault but an act of nature. However, I was not happy that all the money I paid did not able me to walk on the beach. The Pickle is a delightful home and very clean. The layout is wonderful and so well decorated. The owner did a very good job and we loved every minute except of course for the beach access. The younger folks were able to enjoy the beach. The owner left many movies and books for us to enjoy I love the Pickle and love the folks at Coastal Joe. We intend to book for next year but do need to have beach access and Mary said she would help me. Wonderful time.

Beautiful home, very spacious and location was awesome! The view was breathtaking, even during the hurricane. Coastal Joe was awesome, helping us to extend our stay. They were prompt in replacing the chirping smoke detector batteries for us. My only recommendation would be for the owners to think about building a boardwalk walkover to the beach. Highly recommend this property.

Property location is fantastic! House definitely needs attention. We've stayed at many properties on The Cape and this has been my least favorite. My biggest issue with this house is that it has mold around the majority of the air registers and mold on the ceiling in the closet in the living room. This makes me question the quality of the air being circulated through the home. Other issues include dirty air returns, plumbing fixtures loose, broken blinds, worn carpet, damaged walls from doorknob, and shoddy repair work. And although a personal preference, the mattresses are akin to sleeping on a floor. Property management was ok. My first contact when I booked was very nice and responsive. When we arrived, we had a concern and left a message with the company and never heard back from them. Overall cleanliness was fair. Not happy about the used bandaid and Skoal can found on the floor in the bedroom. We really should have better than "fair" and "ok" for price of this rental. All in all, this property has the potential to be really great! Hopefully, needed improvements will be made. But at the moment, there are plenty of other properties nearby that are much nicer and less expensive!

This year's Sport's Illustrated swim suit edition was photographed just a 20 minute drive away in world famous Apalachicola which is known for its oysters; 4 miles to the St Joe Peninsula State Park; Tupelo (indigenous tree to this area not the city in Mississippi) honey; enjoy Scallop Season July through September
