My family and I stayed at this place and enjoyed everything about it. It is a big house with lots of room, hidden in a very quite neighborhood. The house is old, not sure how old but still in excellent clean condition. If your looking to camp out just for the night or nights while in Decatur, this is the place to be. Getting to it can be tricky, recommend using your driving directions on that cell. Because like I said, in a quite hidden neighborhood, and that is a good thing. Also what I liked, some of us renters leave behind things like, trash bags, paper towels, coffee, creamer, etc. for the next renter, that's a good thing, just don't leave food in the fridge. My only disadvantage was conducting business, I never used or had PayPal (but I do now) and for some reason while trying to book the reservation it would not take my VISA credit card I use for all my credit transactions the past decade. I had to use my everyday debit/credit card. Don't worry that's just me. So if you have a large family and looking to rest for a few nights while visiting Decatur. I highly recommend this VRBO.
I tried to rent this property my brother was diagnosed with cancer and my family was coming to visit him to say goodbye. I did exactly what the owner requested. However, he resented the offer of the home at the last minute. He accused my of lying about not listing the guest that would be in the home. I clearly stated in my email who would be in the home. However, I was renting the property and I was solely responsible. So unprofessional.
Six members of our family stayed in the home and all of us were coming from various other states. It made our visit to Atlanta so much nicer! The home was fully equipped with all the supplies we needed and the bottled water dispenser was a great extra convenience. We had plenty of room to spread out, and the décor was so charming. We will definitely stay in the house again.
Our family of 4 members and two other families decided to spend the long memorial week-end touring Atlanta and this house just turned out to be perfect place for our stay. What really impressed us was -
1) Excellent support from Property Manager (Wiliam) who helped us reserve the property just in time before our travel (as we planned the trip last minute).
2) The house had everything. All we needed was to only carry our luggage of clothes and other personal essentials
3) The house was kept clean and tidy
4) After service - we had left behind our ipad charger and Williams (Mananger) was very kind enough to have it sent by post to our residental address
5) Proximity of the house - it was very close to stone mountain and 30 mins drive to Atlanta downtown
Overall Assessment - I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a memorable and comfortable stay
My husband and I wanted to take our grandkids to Atlanta for Spring Break. I looked high and low for hotels/lodging in the area suitable for the seven of us where we wouldn't be "on top of each other!" I've used VRBO in the past and was successful so I checked out their ATL area listings. It was a "GOD THING" when I found this place! It was just what we needed. The owner/property manager was a joy to work with and he made reserving the house a breeze. The pictures don't BEGIN to show how nice the house really is! It's BEAUTIFUL, well maintained and very spacious. The yard, deck and patio with two swings was an added plus. Just pack your clothes because EVERYTHING else is in this house. There was even CANDY dishes (filled with goodies) in several places for the kids (they really enjoyed it). Thanks for the use of your beautiful home. I'm hard to please but I was VERY pleased with this house. Plan to maybe come back for Thanksgiving.
This property gets a 4.5 for cleanliness and distance from Stone MT. The reason for the over-all rating 3 for Average - the blind had a small section broken off when we pulling into the drive-way & the owner was not aware of the damage and charges us for the replacement. Also, the dishwasher did not clean the dishes and we would re-wash by hand and the blender did not work. The down stairs 1/2 bath floor is tilting and you sit a little twisted when using the facilities. The home is in an average subdivision vs. sitting out on a private lot. The address of the owner is next door and as a courtesy we left condiments and extra food in the refrigerator vs. disposing of it (thinking the next guest or owner would use them) and we were also charged part of our deposit for not tossing the food. Our cell phone clock said 11:08 as we pulled out of the driveway and the owner had already called reminding us we would be charged if it was more than 15 past 11:00 and that the cleaning crew would arrive at 2:00 for the next guest. The price was average to high.
