Why Susan Warren chose Florida

This log cabin is unique because every log was harvested locally and put together by hand. It is situated on the beautiful Chipola River near the Dead Lakes. This is some of the best fishing area in the world. It is surrounded by a forest with a variety of trees and wildlife. It is not unusual to to see deer, wild turkeys, owls, and a quail families nearby. Some of the trees are over 100 feet tall filled with birds native to this region.

What makes this house unique

It is uncommon to find such an abundance and variety of wildlife in one area. The house has a wrap around porch and is within 50 feet of the Chipola River. There are steps leading down to the boat dock on the river where kayaking and fishing are popular. If you would like to view a you tube of the cabin and surrounding area, contact me and I will email you a video.

Absolutely Charming! Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful property! This is exactly what my husband and I were looking for to spend our New Year's weekend. The moment we turned down the long driveway I could feel the real world just melt away. It's so private, serene, and peaceful. Susan has the house decorated beautifully, the photos do not do it justice. The rustic charm extends to the outside premises as well. We loved that our greyhound was welcome. She enjoyed the long walks all over the property alongside us. Susan was very helpful as well, and was available via phone call if needed. We will surely be back for some more R&R! Thank you for offering us this gem of a place to stay!

Beautifully, secluded property with an outdoor bathtub!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a place in the woods where we could spend a couple of relaxing days together. And, this place was perfect. The acreage surrounding the log house thick with trees making us feel completely sequestered from the rest of the world and all of life's cares. Even though the weather was a bit chilly during our stay, we took advantage of sitting on the spacious porch to enjoy the view of the property and the river. When we got too cold, we would retreat into the warm and cozy living room and sip our hot tea next to the wood-burning stove. Idyllic is the word that comes to mind. The house was meticulously clean and welcoming. The surprise of our visit, though, was the outdoor bathtub! What a treat to slip beneath the bubbles and enjoy seeing the birds flitting about all around me. And, with the added comfort of knowing the property is so secluded that there wouldn't be any unfortunate surprises of a neighbor wandering in and spoiling the privacy. We highly recommend this property to those who are seeking tranquility and restfulness.

Beautiful, Peaceful, Relaxing & everything that is needed for a great getaway.

  • 5 of 5

The log cabin is beautiful and is well stocked up with toiletries, house and kitchen needs. Kitchen is amazing! This place would be my #1 choice for a family gathering. There's more than enough room to host a party for 30 or more or like we did just take in the beauty of calm and quiet. This place has everything I want in my dream home a wrap around porch with a swing, huge fire pit and a pole barn with grilling area counters and sink. Out at the pole barn there is a claw tub that has running hot and cold water. It's out in the wide open but there are no neighbors so you can enjoy the serenity of the river and outdoors while relaxing in a bubble bath. It really was an incredible vacation. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Warren for sharing your amazing home with us. We will definately be back in the near future. Happy New Year.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent two wonderful nights here. It was very secluded and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities that you would need. We ate most of our meals on the porch so we could enjoy the view of the river. There is also a lot to enjoy outside...swings, an outside shelter with tables, a grill and also a fire pit (it was too warm to use this trip). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a place to get away from it all.

Cannot wait to go back

The pictures do not do this home and location justice. Nice and secluded. You can tell the owners take pride in this property. Extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Perfect for rest and relaxation. If you love privacy and room to explore you will not be disappointed. Next time we plan to spend longer than two nights.
