The renovation of the house has been a rewarding experience. It had been left to ruin and many villagers thought it would have to be torn down. We have kept as many of the original interior features as possible.
In this apartment the massive cantou fireplace with its stone sides and huge wooden mantle now houses the kitchen units. The original stone sink now features below a new cabinet with original stonework on one side. The high ceilings of the kitchen and living room have the original exposed ceiling beams which are quite large in diameter. The lobby and stairwell back wall is of pointed stones. The colombage facade is original except where the bedroom is as this part of the house had fallen away.
We hope you enjoy the experience of living in a medieval village in a 15th century house with all the modern comforts and conveniences.
The colombage facade stands out boldy above the cobblestone lane. The wood carved window surrounds on the first floor date to the 15th century and are a rare example as most preserved ones are of stone. Each level of the house was built in a different era as we saw in the construction methods during the renovation. It is a little piece of history in a picturesque village. Being located in the old centre it is off the main road and an easy walk to everything you need especially the boulangerie just meters away! Our neighbours are all local residents, friendly and what makesa village come to life.

Appartement top classe, cosy, très bien agencé. On s'y sent bien. Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir.
Beaulieu est un superbe village avec un programme d'animation très varié. Région très belle avec une multitude de villages qui valent le détour, sans oublier les restaurants.
