Welcome to Heron’s Roost! Enjoy our cozy log cabin overlooking the beautiful Kootenai River in Northwest Montana. Our cabin is located 13.5 miles East of Libby, MT and is 3 miles below the Koocanusa Reservoir.

The cabin is ‘turnkey’ with a loft that sleeps 2, a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, books, games, DVD’s and wifi. There is a covered deck to watch the abundant wildlife, a propane grill for barbequing and a nearby boat launch and fishing access to the Kootenai River. Full service dining at the River Bend Restaurant is only a mile away.

Great Little Cabin

My husband and I had a lovely short stay in Heron’s Roost. We found no faults with it at all. It was very clean, in a very quiet area and suited us perfectly. We even saw two baby bears very early one morning, which really was the icing on the cake. I must just add that, as a couple in our seventies, we did find the metal spiral staircase a bit of a challenge so I can’t say I was sorry to leave that behind but, overall, the cabin is a genuine 5 star place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Perfect Weekend in Libby

These cabins are perfect for exploring Northern Montana. They are very comfortable and clean and we'll continue coming back.

Retirement adventure

Clean, cozy loved the front deck, coffee in the morning even if was a little cool. Great location for our hiking. Would book again if in the area.

Close to fishing & water fun

This property is great for those anglers and people wanting to have fun on the water. It’s close to the Dam, Lake Kooncanusa, and steps from the Fisher River. Rita is a gem and you will feel welcome and at home.
