About Sam & Laura

This house has been a home to us for many years and we have loved every minute of it. Now that our children are grown and we have downsized to a smaller home nearby, we would like to share the beauty and peace of the mountain with our guests. My wife teaches at a local university and I work in quality control for a national corporation with offices in this region. We love nature and enjoy hiking the fantastic trails in the area. We also love to travel, especially to Italy. We like to make our guests comfortable and be there whenever they need us while also giving them their space and privacy. We are only four miles away if they ever need anything.

Sam & Laura purchased this house in 2003

Why Sam & Laura chose Asheville Area

We love the tranquillity and beauty of the mountain. In every season there is something beautiful to witness. The chance to be so close to the natural world has been a great blessing to us and has enriched our lives in ways that cannot be expressed in words.

What makes this house unique

The chance to watch the changing view of the valley and distant mountains, to hear the wood thrush in the morning and evening, to hike the trails and be in the natural world ,while also having easy access to downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore House, Cataloochee ski resort, white water rafting, and all of the other great attractions in the Western North Carolina mountains has been one of the best things about life on the mountain.

Great house with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 4 days in this wonderful home and were so sad to leave. We had 4 couples and the 4 bedroom, 4 bath plan was perfect for us. Also, having the powder room on the main level was also very nice when we were playing games or eating meals. We prepared breakfast every morning and found everything we needed in the kitchen. We were lucky enough to see a thunderstorm come across the mountains last evening, which was amazing! The ladies enjoyed time on the top deck and several of us played corn hole on the lower deck. The ping pong table got a good bit of use also. It was nice having the kitchen table in addition to the large dining table. Eating on the tables on the porch was a real treat and coffee in the mornings was delightful. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

Beautiful secluded area

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything you needed and a lot of extras. Local owners, Sam and Laura, went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed. No need to stop by store for dish detergent or laundry soap. They even provided hand soaps, toothpaste, soap and shampoo for all the bathrooms, which I have had to go out and buy at other VRBOs. The view and outdoor living area was the best.

Family Get Together

  • 4 of 5

Our family came together at this beautiful scenic mountain home for my Mother''s Birthday. The home was clean and had everything we needed. It was close enough to everything for our day trips and close to a grocery store. Very nice and secluded with a million dollar ever changing view.

Fantastic house with a view that takes your breath!!

  • 5 of 5

Our group, four couples, had a great time in the Ashville N.C. area with this beautiful house as our base. Everything worked and the owners met us at the house and went over everything with us. Sam and Laura, owners, checked in with us a couple times via text to see if we needed anything. All bedrooms had bathrooms which was a high plus for us. Loved the living area with the wood burning fireplace. It is close to all of the attractions near Ashville. We would highly recommend this house!!

Awesome View, Very Private, Great Home

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I celebrated Christmas with our 3 adult children and their spouses at this beautiful property. This is a huge private home with beautiful views. The home is well stocked and very clean. This was our first trip to Ashville. We toured the beautiful Biltmore. The wood burning fireplace makes the home very cozy. We would have loved a hot tub on the deck. Sam, the owner was super nice. We will return.
