great value awesome accomodations !

  • 5 of 5

the location was phenomenal if you enjoy a break from the inundating noise of cars, construction, and everyday noises that infiltrate our senses. the peace and quiet was so refreshing ! the night time view of the stars was unmatched. the accomodations were very adequate, spacious, clean, and inviting. the owners took time to make it feel like home. the major attractions were a bit of a drive but we enjoyed kayaking, horseback riding, peach picking, and wine tasting within a short distance. golfing ,hiking, and local decent eateries were very accessible. the only mild blemish I could find was lack of wifi and television access. it was not a problem for us as we did not come to watch t.v. and our phone service gave us internet service. all in all the value was good and the owners made themselves available to answer any questions.

Owner's Response: We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and discovered so many attractions nearby the area. Thanks for your great compliments on our farmhouse. We have now replaced a more powerful Antenna so our prospective gusts can watch more TV channels. The fall colors of Blue Ridge Parkway and Peaks of Otter are amazing. Many apple orchards nearby the area are ready for pick-u-own festival soon. We looking forward to host you again.

Perfect Family Reunion Gathering Place

  • 5 of 5

This home was ideal for three families who came from Pensacola FL, Lakeland FL, and Atlanta GA to have plenty of comfortable space to eat, sleep, and play! Our goal was to be able to bring my 94 yr old mother out of the Bedford County Nursing Home to spend the daytime with family. We cooked, played games, shot pool, and watched college football. On Sunday, the weather cleared and warmed up for fun times outdoors. All the young folks took a ride around the lake on the paddleboat and then we all sat out in the sunshine for cornhole challenges. My grandson and his Dad caught and released some fish in the lake while both grandkids enjoyed feeding apples and carrots to the neighboring horses and donkeys. Mom got to spend relaxing hours with the three great-grandchildren in a house that was very accessible for her with her walker and oxygen tanks. Everyone slept comfortably and we would love to come and stay in this quaint farmhouse again!

Enjoyable country setting

  • 5 of 5

Sit at the pond and enjoy the wildlife. Listen to the cows. Feed the neighbors donkeys. It was the perfect getaway.

It was clean, quiet and welcoming

  • 4 of 5

I would love to come again sometime. It was clean, the floors were gorgeous and the surrounding were beautiful. Only reason I gave it four and not five stars: no internet (which we knew ahead of time) and no Pyrex baking dishes, at least if there were, I couldn't find them.

Private, cozy, and lots of fun!!!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the lake farmhouse. It was so nice to be in a private location, yet very close to Smith Mountain Lake. This was only a 3 night stay, so we didn't get to enjoy all of the things the area had to offer. The horses and donkeys are very friendly. We did spend a lot of time fishing on the property, and that was a lot of fun, but that is also our favorite past time. You know you are having a great time, when no one turns on the tv. I would give our stay a 4.9 star if I could. If you are wondering why not 5 stars, well I wasn't crazy about the decor, not that it's important, but that was my first impression. The atmosphere and time with family, far out weighed the decor on the walls. I would definitely stay at the lake farmhouse again, and would recommend it. Thank you NA, for allowing my family to make more memories in your home!!!!

Can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a private, quiet, and spotless place to enjoy the country, this is it!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our stay couldn't have been more perfect! The only problem was picking our favorite part:

the friendly neighbors (horses and donkeys) that greeted us and enjoyed apples that we shared from the backyard trees,

the private dock with paddle boat,

the peaceful bench swing under the tree,

the pretty vegetable and flower garden,

the sun porch overlooking a second pond,

the close proximity to Smith Mountain Lake, Roanoke, Salem, and Natural Bridge, or

the details that made this house a home.

Thank you, Na, for a fabulous experience at your beautiful property!
