About Liz Murdock
I purchased this property after I stepped out on the deck and couldn't say no to the view and the relaxation that is intrinsic to this community. I currently live in South Boston and grew up outside just outside Boston so the Cape has always been familiar.
Liz Murdock purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Liz Murdock chose Buzzards Bay
I chose this cottage as a "home away from home" because of the proximity to the water and all that entails, as well as the centralized location to other great towns and adventures. The inside woodwork and craftsmanship feels a little bit like being on a boat and the simple, 'beachy' design makes it comfortable and not at all pretentious. The community, Hideaway Village, has a deep sense of belonging and welcoming - everyone is friendly and looks out for one another. It's a place that makes you never want to get back to the real world!

This cottage made for a perfect summer getaway. There are great waterfront views from the windows and yard, and the sand beach is only a few steps away. Liz took great care of us, providing a very clean house and a great welcome guide to the area.
Great little cottage
Our 4th year at this cottage! A great place to stay! Small but everything you need is there with a view you can’t get enough of! The owner keeps it very clean and well maintained, perfect for a quiet getaway.
Excellent view, friendly neighborhood
Was everthing advertised, loved the view from the cottage. Beach was wonderful, no crowds, just a few local neighbors.
Wonderful place to relax!
We so enjoyed your cottage Liz. My 2 girls and I had plenty of space in the house. The location is perfect and easy to get to everything. The bay is lovely and it was wonderful to wake up and see the view and drink my coffee on your deck or the beach. And kayaking was an added bonus.I hope to come again very soon!
I'm so glad your family was able to enjoy the cottage and the surrounding area. It sounds like you had a great time and I'd love to work with you in 2019. It's always meaningful when people find joy in my home. Thanks again for making it easy!
Perfect location, cute little cottage!
This cottage was perfect for a relaxing week in Cape Cod. There is a beautiful view of the bay and it’s the perfect spot to get beach time without crowds of people. It’s an hour or so from Provincetown. Lots of great hiking and kayaking spots in the surrounding areas! The only downside was not being able to bring my dog.
Thanks, Mara! It sounds like you really took advantage of all the fun things to do and natural resources during your time away. You were a pleasure to host!
This cottage is part of a welcoming community with direct access to the bay whether you want to set sail on two provided kayaks or relax in the sun on the beach just steps from the cottage. There is a small playground and basketball net down the road as well.
Buzzards Bay is centrally located to so many exciting outdoor opportunities and activities. The businesses in town are eager to rent you a Stand Up Paddle board to take out on the bay, a bike to ride down to the Canal, or there's always Water Wizz to get the adrenaline going. If you're looking for a lower-key activity, there are many retailers in town who have the perfect antique keepsake to remind you of your time on the Cape. The weekly Bourne farmer's market, the National Marine Life Center, and a round of mini-golf are also popular ways to explore the immediate area.
There are lots of places to eat in Bourne. While seafood is the most obvious and delicious choice for this part of the world, there are also many great eateries that don't specialize in seafood (although still have it!) - Leo's for breakfast, Captain Al's for lunch, Ella's Wood Burning Oven for dinner, and Betty Ann's for a cone of soft serve.
Bourne also provides the perfect jumping-off point for exploring all the Cape has to offer. You can catch the ferry for Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket in less than 30 minutes, and reach the famous Cape Cod National Seashore in less than an hour. There are local breweries, drive-in movies, vineyards and old-timey band concerts all across the Cape. Heading west, Newport, Block Island, and Providence are all within an hour's drive. You really can do it all from Bourne!
