My son ,Ledger, and I keep this apartment for occasional business in DC.
I am semi retired, working as a contract consultant for a local commercial bank.
Ledger is a partner at a venture capital firm in the DC area.
I'm the old guy in the picture with my sons and grandsons at Ledger's graduation from Georgetown Business School. My younger son (Blake) is a an engineer with a Silicon Valley Startup and a talented musician.
My wife is a nurse for Johns Hopkins. My daughter in law, also a talented musician, is a piano instructor. My two grandsons are geniuses (whose aren't?).
I have a philosophy degree from Johns Hopkins University where I was an instructor before I became a banker. I enjoy fly fishing, golf, and learning.
Our stay went well with this apartment being centered near all the sightseeing locations. The apt was mostly clean besides a lot of sand under the carpet and the kitchen has all the utensils you need. The main negative is that this complex does not allow vrbo stays so you can't go thru the front door near the security guard. We didn't know this at first because directions had not been sent to us ahead of time on how to get into the place. We were questioned a lot by the security guard which made us feel very awkward after our 6 hour flight to get to D. C. Other than that, all went well.
This studio was perfect for a long weekend in DC for my wife and I. The location is close to the White House, Lincoln Memorial, and Georgetown.
We used the DC bike share which has a station on the same block as the apartment and it made getting around inexpensive and easy.
The parking in the building is not open on the weekend so don't plan on that but there are several garages in the area. We found a very reasonable one run by GW a block away.
The owner, Bill West, was very responsive during the booking process and following up to ensure our stay was going well.
Some of the interior is dated but this property is clean and well stocked with the items you expect in a rental.
We would definitely rent this apartment again.
We found the apartment to be perfect for our stay in Washington. Our family stay in Washington was short only 3 days, so by staying so close to everything was excellent! The apartment had all the amenities we needed, and plenty of room for the futon lounge to fold out for our 10 & 12 year olds to sleep on. Washington Mall was only a 10 min walk away with great local resturants all within a short work. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful weekend in DC made possible by having a perfect location to stay. This studio apartment is within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and then some. The building and immediate neighborhood were quiet. The check in process was easy. We plan to come back.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The bed was comfortable and the space was sufficient for our family of 3. The location was ideal with an easy walking distance to the mall.
