Our 'paradise' is only 25 minutes from Keene and 100 minutes from Boston.

Our pet-friendly private, peaceful, pond-front home with Monadnock view is only 15 miles from Keene, NH, and 100 minutes from Boston.

Tranquility awaits – Ours is the last home on a private drive with 426 feet of water frontage on Scott Pond. A must see for all bird watchers and nature lovers and we regularly have blue herons, geese, ducks, the beavers visiting and especially enjoy seeing the painted turtles sunning themselves on the turtle raft. Our niece came to visit and was thrilled to catch her first large mouth bass.

There is a beaver dam across the peninsula which limits the kinds of boats that visit our part of the pond keeping it very private and peaceful.

The aluminum rowboat is available for use by guests.

There are two swimming ponds just 5 miles away and one is especially dog-friendly.

Also nearby is a pick your own berry farm which has raspberries, gooseberries, currants, and blueberries.

The Cheshire Rail Trail which is 21 miles long and goes from Keene through Fitzwilliam on its way to Northfield.

What makes this house unique

Privacy and peace for you and your dog.

Google shows the road to be a loop but it actually ends in our driveway so the only people coming up the driveway will be you and your guests.

No other houses are visible to the left of ours or across the pond and only one house is visible to the right and that house is over 500' away through the trees.

Happy wife, happy dogs. Happy man.

We wanted to get our city dogs out to the country where they could be off leash.

This being the last house on the road helped us to feel comfortable letting the dogs run.

We _loved_ sitting in front of the outdoor fireplace throwing the ball for the dogs.

Very surprised that there were very few (almost no) horse flies or mosquitos.

We used the charcoal bbq for dinners but mostly went to the local diner (FlipSide) for breakfasts.

This summer had very hot and humid moments but the AC kept the house cool.

Keene is a very nice small city with a welcoming main street with reasonable restaurants, a co-op, theatre, and my wife especially enjoyed the 2nd hand shops for vintage clothing.

We are looking into returning during the foliage.

Happy vacation at Fitzwilliam, NH

My husband and 2 children and family canine enjoyed our weeks' vacation in Fitzwilliam, NH, in the peace and tranquility of this charming and well-appointed vacation home on a dirt road.

I have rated our stay as 4 stars, rather than 5, because of the potholes in the dirt road....really not much of a detractor from our overall experience.

The kids loved the pond (in the back yard), fishing & throwing rocks for the dog to chase.

We spent some quiet time simply paddling the kayak in the warmth of the sun.

The owner of the property was courteous and responsive to our questions.

The home was very clean and inviting, and all necessary details were attended to in order to make our stay a positive one.

We enjoyed our breakfasts at the Flip Side, and Papagallos was our dinner destination; a lovely dinner with leftovers for lunch the following day.

We highly endorse this vacation home, and plan to return.
