Large and modern (Western) one bedroom apartment with large ocean view sun terrace. Just 400m to your own private beach.

Kap Mountain Apartments are located just one hour south east of Pattaya and three hours from Bangkok Suvarnabuhmi International Airport . The beautiful Island of Koh Samet is just 30 minutes away from the pier at nearby Ban Phe by speed boat and perfect for Scuba diving and snorkelling.

Located in a large tropical rainforest overlooking the Gulf of Thailand and with magnificent 180 degree water views from the large outdoor terrace. The apartment is an easy 400m walk to your own private beach . This large one bedroom apartment over two levels is fully air-conditioned and fully self contained including laundry facilities. Queen size bed and quality linen with choice of pillows included.

We recently installed a funicular lift which allows easy access to our front door via an initial 12 steps to the base station, then walkways from the third lift station to our unit. You can also use the 81 step stairs for more direct access!

Because there are many steep stairs, we do not consider that our property is suitable for young children, people with a disability or the very elderly.

Free fibre optic internet to the unit, flat screen TV,a range of movies and music available.

Relax in the onsite swimming pool or take a short stroll to the beautiful local seafood restaurant just 100m away. The very quiet and peaceful environment makes it the perfect getaway retreat. Daily or weekly cleaning is available for a small additional fee as arranged through Khun Meng our onsite manager. Wang Kaew Gardens is a gated community with 24 hour security. Room service is available from the local seafood restaurant until 4.30pm daily. 10% service charge applies.

We can also recommend a private car pickup from Bangkok with direct transfer to Kap's Mountain Apartments with an English speaking driver. Car and scooter hire at competitive rates available through Khun Meng.


Whether you choose to use the lift or take the 81 steps to your front door, the breathtaking views are worth the effort.

About Ian Boardman

We had been looking for an Asian home for more than two years and had explored extensively throughout South East Asia. Then in late 2014 we were invited by friends to stay at Kap's Mountain Apartments...and we fell in love with the place. Within weeks we had made an offer on a vacant apartment, and over the next year we renovated our new home to a standard that pleases us. We plan to spend a lot more time here once our children - who are young adults still studying - are self sufficient. Meanwhile, we are pleased to share this piece of paradise with discerning holidaymakers who value a quality lifestyle lived in a serene and peaceful environment.

What makes this apartment unique

Serenity. Tranquillity. Seclusion when you need it, with low key options for the more active life, for socialising and eating out, only a short distance away. The lovely island of Koh Samet with its turquoise beaches is an easy day trip. The entire area is set up for cycling, with good roads and generally light traffic.

If you crave the fast lane from time to time, Pattaya is an hour's drive away, and Bangkok is 90 minutes beyond that.

The local roads are lightly trafficked and generally safe for cycling. Bicycles, motor cycles and cars can be hired locally. Similarly, with the ocean all about you, it is possible to hire a boat and skipper for your own fishing expedition. It is even possible to hire a boat and skipper from the local fishing co-op, just a few hundred metres from the Apartments, to take you to the beautiful island of Koh Samet for the day.

As beautiful as ever

After four years of visiting this place, we still have not tired of its serenity and peace. Tranquil rainforest walks and miles of white sand beaches. Great seafood. Great street food. Great local markets. Upmarket cocktails for the occasional splurge.

Very Nice Apartment, Quick Response Time

The Apartment is Located at a quite Location and is wonderfull for Relaxing and Enjoy calm Holidays.

The Complex has a Nice Pool and the Owners of the Apartment Respond very quick.

Security is Good and the Apartment has already everything u need for Cooking, Relaxing and have a nice quite Holiday.

The only thing i would suggest is that u have a Car or at least a Motorbike for go outside and look around, because, quite means u need to walk a lot for some Stores or a Restaurant :)

but its possible to reach them...

I will sure come back there, if i come back to Rayong country and the apartment is up for that time i come.

Fin lägenhet i mycket lugnt område.

Fin lägenhet i två plan med rejäla utrymmen för två personer. En härlig stor balkong med morgonsol utsikt över havet och fågelkvitter över träden. När vi var där var vi så gott som de enda i de 24 lägenheterna. Uthyrarna (Ian och Louise) var måna om att ge oss all den information man behöver (om transport, restauranger i området, faciliteter i huset m m). Rent och snyggt och all den utrustning som man kan behöva inkluderande sängkläder, handdukar och slutstädning. Man behöver en ("moppe" som vi hyrde av vaktmästaren Mr Meng) för att ta sig till restauranger m m eller till andra badställen som Kim,s Beach, CocaCola Beach eller till Mae Pim. 400 kr/natt var ett helt OK pris för våra fem nätter. Rekommenderas!

Wunderbares Apartment - wunderbare Umgebung - netter Vermieter - der Geheimtipp für Rayong

Das Apartment liegt in einem großen Regenwaldgebiet direkt am Meer. Es gibt dort mehrere herrlich Sandstrände, die meistens menschenleer sind, da das ganze Gebiet nur von Bewohnern der Apartments oder der Häuser betreten werden darf. Es gibt an der Einfahrt 24 Stunden eine Eingangskontrolle. Man fühlt sich in der Anlage daher sicher. Die Apartments gehören meisten Thais aus Bangkok, die oft nicht anwesend sind. Das Regenwaldgebiet hat ferner etwa 30 kleinere und größere Ferienhäuser, einige direkt am Strand.

Es gibt eine größere Apartmentanlage direkt am Strand. Das von uns gebuchte Apartment liegt wenige Meter vom Strand sehr schön im Wald an einem Hügel.

Das Apartment ist auf europäischem Level, ist sauber und modern eingerichtet. Es verfügt über ein Schlafzimmer mit eigener Dusche und Toilette im Erdgeschoss. Man erreicht das Wohnzimmer über eine Wendeltreppe zum 1. Stock. Dort befindet sich eine weitere Dusche mit Waschmaschine, eine modern eingerichtete Küche, ein extra Schreibtisch, eine großes Sitzgruppe und ein Breitbildfernseher mit Computer und vorinstallierten Filme (wir hatten nicht das geringste Bedürfnis, das auszuprobieren - wir haben lieber die Rundumsicht genossen). Wir hatten unsere eigene Musik dabei (Bluetooth-Lautsprecher). Es gibt einer große Terrasse mit 2 Liegestühlen und einer Tischgruppe. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend.

Das Apartment ist bzgl. Preis und Leistung kaum zu toppen. Man geht genau 81 Stufen über eine lange Treppe an der Hausseite hoch. Wir sahen das als ein willkommenes kleines Training für die Beine, man neigt in Thailand automatisch dazu, sich eher etwas zu wenig zu bewegen. Die Koffer können über einen am Berg schräg verlaufenden Lift an der anderen Seite des Apartmenthauses bequem hochtransportiert werden - der freundliche Thai-Hausmeister hilft dabei.

Es braucht wie fast überall in Thailand eine eigene Transportmöglichkeit. Wir mieten immer ein Motorrad und kamen damit überall hin, auch zum einkaufen.

Das Apartment ist nicht geeignet für gehbehinderte Menschen, die schlecht Treppen steigen können. Von den Vermietern sind keine Party-People erwünscht - das würde in die ruhige Anlage auch nicht passen. Hierfür gibt es genug Alternativen in Thailand mit bum bum den ganzen Tag.

Der Kontakt in Englisch mit dem freundlichen und akkurat antwortenden australischem Vermieter war angenehm und problemlos. Alles Beschreibungen in seiner Präsentation sind korrekt - eher ein Understatement.

Wonderful apartment - wonderful surroundings - nice landlord - the secret tip for Rayong. Stayed: December 2016. The apartment is located in a large rainforest area by the sea. There are several beautiful sandy beaches, which are mostly deserted, as the entire area can only be entered by residents of the apartments or the houses. There is an entrance control at the entrance 24 hours. You feel safe in the area. The apartments include most Thais from Bangkok, which are often not present. The rain forest area also has about 30 smaller and larger holiday houses, some on the beach. There is a larger apartment complex right on the beach. The apartment we booked is located a few meters from the beach very nice in the forest on a hill. The apartment is on a European level, is clean and modern furnished. It has a bedroom with private shower and toilet on the ground floor. You reach the living room via a spiral staircase to the first floor. There is another shower with washing machine, a modern equipped kitchen, an extra desk, a large seating group and a widescreen TV with computer and pre-installed movies (we had not the slightest need to try it - we preferred the circular view). We had our own music (Bluetooth speakers). There is a large terrace with 2 sun loungers and a table set. The view is breathtaking. The apartment is in terms of price and performance hardly to beat. One goes exactly 81 steps over a long stairs at the house side. We saw this as a welcome little training for the legs, one tends to automatically move in Thailand to move rather little. The suitcases can be transported comfortably via a lift at the slope at the other side of the apartment house - a friendly Thai caretaker helps. It needs as its own transportation possibility almost everywhere in Thailand. We always rent a motorbike and went everywhere, even to shopping. The apartment is not suitable for handicapped people who can climb badly stairs. Of the landlords are no party people wanted - that would not fit into the quiet area. For this there are enough alternatives in Thailand with bum bum all day. The contact in English with the friendly and accurate responding Australian landlord was pleasant and problem-free. All the descriptions in his presentation are correct - rather an understatement.

Wang Kaew Gardens National Park, in which Kap's Mountain Apartments are located, is entered through a security gate that is staffed 24 hours a day. The Gardens comprise of a couple of hundred acres of rainforest and sculptured gardens, surrounded by water.

Wang Kaew Gardens has two private beaches easily reached by walking paths that meander throughout the estate. The nearest private beach to our apartment is an easy 400 metre walk.

Even closer than the beach is Wang Kaew's own waterfront restaurant with gorgeous views across the bay. This restaurant is open for lunch but closes at 5pm most days. Near to the restaurant is a fishing co-operative from which the colourful and photogenic fishing fleet launches itself each evening. In addition to a mixed Thai-Western breakfast, the restaurant serves delicious Thai lunches and is open until 5pm. Home delivery can be arranged.

The Province of Rayong is known as the food bowl of Thailand - try the fresh fruit, vegetables and abundant seafood. You can buy freshly caught fish from the co-op just metres from your door and cook it yourself.

Additional 1 bedroom apartments in the same complex can be arranged for larger groups, subject to availability.

Minimum of one week rental is preferred, with an absolute minimum period of three nights.

There are a number of local eating places in the villages close by the entrance to Wang Kaew Gardens. Here you will also find a small grocery store that sells beer and other provisions. There is also a part time internet cafe.

Turn right out of Wang Kaew Gardens (towards Mae Phim) and follow the road to more shops and eating places. Turn left towards Ban Phe and follow the road to the Marriott and the turn off to Kim's Restaurant. These are absolute beach-front and in addition to good Thai food, they also offer pedicure, massage and beach activities in season.

You can walk along the beach from Kim's to the two international resorts - the Marriott and the Novotel.

Further afield is Mae Phim, only 6km by local transport, cycle or car from the entrance to Wang Kaew Gardens. At this lovely village fronting a gorgeous 2 km beach, are many seafood restaurants, an excellent coffee shop and our favourite Italian restaurant.

The local roads are well maintained and not busy out of holiday season. It is easy to drive in this part of Thailand. You may wish to hire a cycle or car for part of your stay. We always hire a motor cycle or car when we visit. Be sure to get an International Driving Permit before you leave home.

An iconic form of transport used by many locals, is a motor scooter with an attached passenger frame large enough for the entire family. These can be hired by anyone confident and skilled enough to ride a motor bike with sidecar - Thai style!

Alternatively, you can hail transport that the locals use from the entrance to Wang Kaew Gardens. These taxi-trucks pass in both directions every 30 minutes during the day. Different taxi-trucks will take you to Mae Phim (6km), Ban Phe (13km in the other direction), or even further to the provincial capital of Rayong. The taxi-trucks use set routes, with different coloured trucks travelling to different destinations.

Coffee shops, restaurants, ATM, bank, supermarket, travel agencies & health centre are all available at Ban Phe 13km away. Ban Phe, which is the port for the 30 minute ferry ride to the beautiful island of Koh Samet, has a famous daily fish market.

An easy day excursion will take you to the lovely island of Koh Samet, which attracts many Bangkok based Thais on weekends and during holiday season, as well as many backpackers and foreign tourists throughout the year. We recommend it.

If you really need a taste of fast paced city life, replete with international restaurants, escorts, a busy beach-front and a bar scene that extends to the early hours, you just need to travel the hour to Pattaya where you will have all this and more. Pattaya is not our "cup of tea", but we have ex-pat friends who have since retired from Pattaya to a quieter life at Wang Kaew, who speak very fondly of the city. There are a number of excellent restaurants with an international reputation.

All in all there is much to do if doing a lot is what you want to do!

Be warned however, Wang Kaew weaves its own magic, and most days all we want to do is to cook our own meals, then sit reading our Kindles while listening to the quiet lapping of the waves from our balcony.

We recommend you bring your own books: we have yet to develop a guest library although there are a few paperbacks slowly accumulating in the apartment, and more in the common room by the swimming pool.

From the apartment you can access free and reliable high speed internet from a shared fibre optic connection.

Cleaning during your stay can be arranged with the onsite manager for a small fee. An exit cleaning fee of THB2500 is payable upon departure.

Private car transfers from the airport can also be arranged for a fee.
