The private guest quarters sits on 10 acres and is easily accessible on a maintained road just 10 minutes from downtown Pagosa Springs. During the winter months, 4X4/AWD and/or chains are strongly recommended.

The Guest Cabin is a 500 square foot rustic cabin and the perfect place to stay when looking for a peaceful and serene location. The cabin has a private entrance through the garage. It has a bathroom with shower. A newly renovated kitchenette with handmade wood cabinets and an Italian tile counter top. Also a small refrigerator, new sink & disposal unit. Dishes and cooking utensils are provided. The cabin has one Queen size bed & one full sized sofa bed with all bedding provided. We also provide high speed wireless internet and cell service. The views of the mountains are spectacular! .

The cabin is tastefully furnished with cozy furnishings, a leather couch & coffee table and Internet TV (Netflix available) with DVD player and a wide variety of DVD's available. There is no cable or satellite service. There is a wood burning stove also a small but very efficient infrared heater is also available.

Pagosa Springs is a magical place to visit any time of year. In the spring, summer and fall, choose from rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing and hot air ballooning just to name a few. The Hot Springs are open year round. In the winter months, there is skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice-skating, ice-fishing and cross-country skiing to enjoy.

About The Owner

The owners love the outdoors and nature. We are very pet friendly with 4 dogs, three horses and 2 goats here on our property and we welcome yours! . We are thrilled to be able to share our wonderful Guest Cabin with fellow travelers and we will do everything to make your stay memorable.

One of the reasons we decided to buy this property was because of the wonderful privacy and extraordinary views.

What makes this guest house unique

River fishing is available in town on the San Juan River. The quality waters of the San Juan below Navajo Lake is world renowned for the incredible trout fly fishing. Wolf Creek Ski area boasts the most snow in Colorado, with an average of over 600 inches per year!

The Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles away and the main roads are always kept clean. This ski area gets more snow than any other ski area in Colorado, on average.

Pagosa Springs is a magical place to visit any time of year. In the spring, summer and fall, choose from rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing and hot air ballooning just to name a few. The Hot Springs are open year round and they are a few minutes from the ranch. In the winter months, there is skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice-skating, ice-fishing and cross-country skiing to enjoy.

Amazing Experience

Jason and Juliette are some of the niceSt people you could ever do business with. We had some issues with the 4 wheel drive in our truck. They graciously allowed us to use one of their pickups for the entire 4 day stay. Without that generosity we would have been stuck in the driveway.

As far as the cabin goes, it was absolutely the perfect romantic getaway. The wood stove cackling as you go to sleep in a quaint little log cabin made the entire experience. The views are also beyond amazing. It snowed almost 3 feet during the 4 days we were there. It made it truly a winter wonderland.

Beautiful Countryside Property

What a great place. So quiet and peaceful. The cabin is in the back of the garage but that helps buffer any sounds that might come from the main house. Once inside the cabin it feels like you're all by yourself on the mountains. Juliette and Jason are both very personable providing great insight as to what Pagosa Springs has to offer. Hope to be able to use this CA so again on a future trip. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Cozy cabin with great views and wonderful hosts!

Red Paws Ranch is my new favorite getaway! The cozy cabin was perfect for my girlfriend, my dog, and I to get away and have a relaxing weekend. The property has incredible views and a picturesque barn with 3 gorgeous horses. Juliette and Jason were very welcoming, very helpful with things to do and places to go around town, and wonderful to get to know. The place itself was amazing, but the wonderful hosts really make the place perfect. We will definitely stay here every time we come back to Pagosa Springs, and we can't wait to see it in the winter!

An unfortunate review. NOT a Cabin. No exits to the outside world.

We would really prefer not leaving a negative review, but in this situation, this is information that all travelers should have.

This cabin is NOT a cabin. This is a room in the back of a garage. Entry is via the owner's garage code wherein you enter through the garage, walk past their cars and misc garage junk, to a room in the back. We might encourage the owner to add a picture of the inside of their garage to the listing.

After being shown the room by the home owner, we left to never return. Give or take, we were out the door in about 2 minutes. It is a shame they have listed this as a cabin. I would hope you don't get misled like we did.

A couple things to note:

1. This is NOT a cabin. There is no exit to the outside. If you want to step out for fresh air or to have a coffee in the outdoors, you need to exit through their garage. Their driveway will be your patio. This was, unfortunately, not the romantic peace we were looking for.

2. If there was a fire or any accident of any kind, you have NO exit. You would be trapped in a back room in the back of the garage. Fire code should require proper exit from this property.

3. When using HomeAway, we prefer to stay with good people. Just as, working with good people is the foundation of my business. We immediately requested a refund because this property is improperly listed as a cabin and would not work for us. The owner denied this request. We offered to split the difference with 1/2 refund merely to move on from the situation, and again we were denied. It is a shame these individuals will go to such lengths to take money for a room that we barely set foot in.

This was advertised as a cabin, and it is very clearly NOT a cabin. We are in the process of filing a formal complaint with HomeAway.

Best of luck in your travels. I would not recommend this room to anyone.

Owner's Response: We are truly sorry that our property did not meet your “expectations” of a cabin - when it is in fact a cabin – with a garage attached. The access to the cabin through the garage has always been clearly stated in our description as “The cabin has a private entrance through the garage.” And for the over 60 reviews of previous and satisfied guests, they too call it a cabin with comments like “Fantastic cabin close to Pagosa Springs” “Cozy and inviting cabin in the woods!” “Cozy Little Cabin” and “Nice cabin space on a secluded range property.” As for outside seating we offer a table and chairs and acres of property where most of our guest have had their morning coffee, snacks, meals and cocktails watching the sunset. These options were presented to you and your guest along with all the amenities, places on the property to take your two dogs for hikes and dog friendly restaurants to visit during the over 20 minutes that was spent with you - not the 2 minutes which you state in your review. The last words you said, was that you were heading out to grab some dinner and you never returned. What’s so unfortunate about your review and statements about “staying with good people” is that you claim we are not good people because we didn’t give you a refund. Your expectations of the accommodations were seemingly very specific; nevertheless you did not take the time, prior to booking during our peak season, to read the description and reviews from the other previous guests and reach out to me with any questions or clarifications you might have had, especially with what you deem is a correct description of a cabin. I would have gladly answered any of your questions and provided photographs should you have required. Instead you arrived, said nothing to us in person about your displeasure and left. Only to text me about an hour later to say you were not returning and then expect to receive a full refund. In our description and policies, we clearly state our “Cancellation policy is: 4 weeks before check in 50% refund. Less than 4 weeks no refund.” I am sorry you cannot accept this and feel you needed to file a formal complaint with HomeAway suggesting our description is misleading and that we were difficult to deal with as owners of the cabin - that couldn’t be further from the truth and I am shocked that you would resort to being untruthful to make your point.

Great Base Point

Juliette & Jason were very friendly and informative. They shared some good advice for our reactive dog and provided insight on the local real estate market that interests us. Unfortunately, we didn't get much time with them as we were out around Pagosa most of the time and didn't cross paths often. The facilities were great.
