About Sara Silva
We currently live in the area and often have family and friends come to visit. They always leave with plans to come back and enjoy the lake and the many outdoor activities that are available at our doorstep. Like many New Hampshire residents, we're "out-of -stater's" who grew up visiting the area for camping, hiking, biking, skiing, swimming etc. As we started to raise our family our vacations centered around "lake-living" and the sense of peace it always provides. We hope you'll feel the same.
Sara Silva purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Sara Silva chose East Wakefield
This property is directly on Belleau Lake with it's fine fishing, boating, swimming and spectacular sunsets which can be seen right from the large deck overlooking the lake. Belleau Lake is a 290 acre private lake in the Lakes Region of NH. Its typically a quiet lake with average water craft traffic during peak seasons and weekends, and very little traffic during the week and off season. It is one of the more peaceful lakes in the area which is one of the reasons that we chose it.
What makes this Cottage unique
This cottage has been renovated from top to bottom. It's neat and clean and ready for you to come in and make it "home". It is located in East Wakefield and is convenient to Wolfeboro, Conway, North Conway, The Outlets at Settlers Green, Sanford, ME and just over an hour to the White Mountains. During fall foliage and the many fall fairs in the area you can experience what its like to live in New Hampshire among the beauty of the hills and mountains. Take a ride up Rt 153 to Conway during any season and you'll see beautiful scenery and maybe some wildlife. The Cottage is also located just off of Corridor 19 for snowmobiling. The Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club grooms many miles of trails on the NH trail system and from the Cottage you can get to just about anywhere in the state, depending on the amount of snow. In the summer and fall those trails are available to mountain bikers and hikers and also shared by a variety of wildlife. King Pine Ski Area is also located about 15 miles from the Cottage and has a wide variety of outdoor activities during the winter months.

Wonderful Cabin on a Lake
Sometimes pictures of houses can look great and you get there and its not so great. This is not one of those cases. Stayed for a weekend but wish it could have been longer. Amazing cabin. Absolutely nothing to criticize. Perfect in everyway. View over lake from the master bed room in the morning is incredible.
Oh, this makes me so happy! I’m glad to know you enjoyed your retreat! You came at just the right time for the foliage. (Each season is beautiful in it’s own way.) Thank you for coming and for writing this review! You should come back when you can stay longer!
Another Day in Paradise!
Sara met us with all smiles at the cottage, gave us a 5 min verbal cottage introduction and was on her way. The cottage was exactly as pictured on VRBO. Waking up to the view of the lake in the morning, through the bedroom French doors, to wrapping up the early evening watching the sunset from the porch or the dock - another day in paradise. The lake is bigger than we expected , making for a adventurous adventure along with a nice work out kayaking, if your into that. For you Bass Fisherman, the quality of fish was astounding. Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass ranging from 3-5+ lbs.!! All caught from a canoe in the weedy flats. If you have a boat, make sure to bring it. The dock is efficient to hold close to a 20'.
Close by, within 5 mins, is a great place to have a breakfast/lunch (Cindy's) and dinner (Blue Bayou). The Blue Bayou doesn't look like much from the outside, but, the food and the service was impeccable. Speaking of food, if your a seafood nut and want to save some green, you 'll have to stop at Jena's in Ossipee, NH (20 mins away). Make sure to say "hello" to Angel. Also in Ossipee, is the closet major grocery store (Hannaford) and 2 gas stations. If you want to get dressed up (most people wearing shorts though) or celebrate a special occasion, the Wakefield Inn and Restaurant is also close by.
If your looking for thing to do besides relaxing on the lake:
1) Castle in the Clouds- built in 1914 with beautiful views and all modern devices from that era.
2) Waterfalls/Hiking on Castle in Clouds property- 7 waterfalls from .2 to 1.2 miles in.
3) Mountain biking or walking on Cotton Valley Rail Trail, trail is 12 miles long and goes from Wakefield to Wolfboro, bring a bathing suit because there is a nice beach for swimming and/or having lunch near mile maker 2- no bike? Nordic Skier in Wolfboro rents them no more than $25 for the day! Wolfboro is also the nearest major town at the foot of Lake Winnipesaukee for you gift shoppers. Plenty of shops and restaurants, but crowded.
All in all, the weather was wonderful and the cabin was beautiful and equipped with anything we needed.
Thanks Sara and Steve
My goodness! You certainly made the most of your stay! What a pleasure to know you enjoyed all the opportunities that surround us here on Belleau Lake! We hope you'll come back for your next vacation. Consider a fall or winter trip for a whole other experience. Peace!

The house is just perfect.
It is in a excellent shape, charming furnised, spacious, well equipped kitchen, clean...
We loved the view overlooking the lake. We used the kanu and kayak provided and had a great time on the lake closing with a barbecue.
Sara is a very friendly and helpful host.
We did enjoy quiet and relaxing days and can really recommend staying in this house!

The perfect getaway
What a wonderful stay! We enjoyed kayaking and exploring the island; we even saw a bald eagle! Very gracious and approachable hosts. We wish our time there could’ve been longer and look forward to visiting again in the near future!
Thank you for coming! So happy you saw the eagle and enjoyed the lake. It was nice seeing you out there!
Best.Place.Ever. Relaxing. Rejuvenating. Restful. Beautiful.
Yay!! All our favorite words!!
What a beautiful cottage. Loved our stay. Although it was too short.
Thank you for coming, Maria! We hope you'll come back when you can stay longer!
This is one of the snowiest areas in the State - when we get snow. The cottage has direct access to Corridor 19 which connects to most of the groomed trails throughout the State; Seven Lakes Snowmobile Club is the local club here. As the lakes and ponds freeze access to other parts of the State become available and access to the Maine trail system is also available. There are plenty of destinations to head towards; restaurants, Wolfeboro, NH, Poor Boys Pub, Castle in the Clouds etc. There's a network of clubs that groom all of the major corridors and side trails all the way up to the US border - snow conditions and property owner permissions are a factor. All clubs require that snowmobilers abide by all of the rules especially staying on the trails. We've found that most corridors aren't open unti there is ample snow to groom, so check with us for conditions. Here's a NH map of the corridor system with many of the signs and legends; https://www.nhstateparks.org/uploads/pdf/NH_Snowmobile-Corridor_Map.pdf
One can also check out the NH Parks & Recreation's website for conditions and trail etiquette at; https://www.nhstateparks.org/about-us/Trails/
Hope to see you soon!! Think Snow
Additional pricing information
A one month rental is for a total of any four consecutive weeks. We've chosen the the lowest level of insurance offered because this is a new home with new systems and appliances. Rather than ask for a security deposit, which would be added to the rental cost, taxed, and then refunded, this provides the best low cost, less headache option for both parties. Also, the Governor of the State of NH, requires 9% on all vacation rentals to balance his budget!! He thanks you very much for you support!!
