I first visited Tomahawk with a load of boys headed to Zingers Paintball for a birthday party. While they played, I rode the Bearskin Trail on my bike. By the time I reached the pedestrian bridge just before the Windmill Ice Cream Shop and Schaefer's Wharf, I was already sold on the area. Just 40 miles from Wausau, and the airport, and just over 2 hours from Green Bay, it is a true 'northwoods' retreat.
I wanted to thank you for giving me and my family an opportunity to stay at you cabin in WI, we had a great time. The place was very lovely and will look forward to coming back some other time. Will definitely recommend it to my other family and friends. Thank you.
My sister and I rented this great cabin on Lake Nokomis from July 2-July 9, 2016. We had a wonderful time. The cabin could not have been more accommodating. Everything was just as Susan said in the listing. We will certainly rent this property again.
This was the perfect getaway - we enjoyed the entire experience. Sue was very responsive to us and the cabin is wonderfully stocked so you never have to worry about what you might have forgotten. I am excited to return to the area again.
The owner, Sue was a pleasure to deal with. She was able to quickly respond to our e-mails concerning the property and the area.
The property was as represented by the pictures and descriptions. This is not your typical Wisconsin fishing cabin But rather a well built comfortable home on a lake. Lake Nokomis is an excellent fishing lake with plenty of room for the occasional jet skis and water skiers we saw.
We tried several of the area Supper Clubs and found them to be better than average to excellent. Billy Bobs bar and grill serves the best burgers and sandwiches for lunch. The windmill house ice cream parlor is going to be a danger to your diet. The servings are enormous, tasty, and reasonably priced
My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay, and have been happy to recommend the entire experience to our friends and family.
Dale and Sue Lavan Woodstock IL,
Sue was very nice and gave us all the information we needed about the area. She also was kind enough to mail back a piece of clothing my wife left in the cabin. The cabin was nice and clean, and close Tomahawk, so you could take quick trips into towns as needed. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Our only quibble was we wish the cabin description had included a mention that this is a cabin directly connected to other cabins on either side -- not a separate cabin. So, it had a more condo feel than cabin. It also wasn't shown connected to other cabins in any of the VRBO site pics. So when we arrived, it was a bit tighter than we expected, but the neighbors were all nice, and we had a good time.
Sue provided an amazing kayaking getaway for my daughter and I. The rental process was easy. The cabin was clean and beautiful. Access to the water was effortless. We loved listening to the water and sitting out in the moonlight snuggled up on the loungers. We kayaked around the little Islands and saw lots of wildlife. The best part was being together and spending time with God. We found the peace and comfort we were seeking. Sue provided lovely hospitality and a perfect reminder to have courage! Everything was just perfect!
