Beautiful, rustic, and peaceful property

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to get away for the weekend and found this gem! As soon as we arrived, Deb greeted us and showed us around. There were so many special touches that made this place so great! Deb made us an organic breakfast each morning that was absolutely delicious! She made wonderful recommendations for restaurants, trails, and things to do. At the end of each night we settled down in front of the furnace with our unlimited hot cocoa/tea and took a dip in the hot tub. We both felt so relaxed and refreshed leaving! We can’t wait to come back in the spring/summer!

Our expectations were exceeded in every facet. I would strongly recommend this place to everyone!

The property is absolutely beautiful. It is so peaceful & serene. The babbling brook with waterfall is so relaxing. There are multiple places to sit outdoors & enjoy nature at its finest. From the benches, to the hammocks, to the fire pit. We couldn't ask for more. The loft we stayed in was warm, cozy & comfortable. It is the perfect amount of room for couples looking to connect with each other. Deb, our hostess was absolutely amazing. She made us breakfast with fresh eggs from her own chickens. Homemade breads with apple butter & fresh jam. Deb made us fell very welcome & comfortable. She made excellent suggestions for things to do, places to go & places to eat. We honestly couldn't ask for anything more. It was such a relaxing, peaceful weekend. We hated having to leave & definitely plan on coming back. We would strongly recommend this place to all of our friends.

Unspoiled beauty

  • 4 of 5

Deb was a wonderful host. The property was serene and featured a lazy stream with a small waterfall running through the yard. The room is in a renovated barn and is very quaint. Deb made an amazing, fresh, organic breakfast. The room space is not large, but large enough for a couple to spend a weekend. Understand that you are not getting a hotel room; not everything will be perfectly new, but you will be provided with a great environment to relax to spend quiet time with your loved one.

Owner's Response: Thank you for visiting, it was wonderful to meet you on your short getaway. You are so right, we are proudly a bed and breakfast retreat, not a hotel by any means, a unique historic dairy barn that is a blend of new and shabby chic designed to make you feel instantly comfy :) We've been lovingly restored to bring the structure and the history back alive. The upstairs two rooms are about 450 square feet between the two rooms.... with pretty high ceilings in the room with the original chestnut beams exposed. You'll have to return in the winter and enjoy the woodstove downstairs in the lodge area with exposed fire on a snowy evening. One entire wall of books greets you, and we hope you will grab one off the shelf. Glad you caught the brook on a quiet day, it has a mind of its own and is a tributary of the Paulinskill River. it can be a force to reckon with at times! The trout seem to love it though and it is an important body of water in the area that is highly protected by the state, since it's an ideal habitat for native brooks and browns. The three small falls that lead up to the big drop that was built circa 1900, probably for power or a mill. Glad you had a wonderful time and enjoyed our farm to table breakfasts, please keep us in mind if you wander back to this area again.

An incredible setting for some much-needed R&R

  • 5 of 5

The minute I stepped out if the car, I knew I'd made the right choice. I could hear the gentle sound of the brook and smell the freshness of the air.

Deb came out to greet me as soon as let her know I arrived. She gave me a tour, and provided me with lists of restaurants and points of attraction in the area. Knowing that I am a photography buff, she pointed out some other areas for good photo ops.

The living space is cozy, but it's all the space you'll need to kick back and relax. There are many seating places outside, my favorite being the Adirondack chairs by the side of the brook. The breakfast that she served was incrredible--everything is organic and delicious.

My stay was fabulous, and I am already planning to come back next year!
