Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin is unbelievable! My boyfriend took me there for my birthday where we stayed for four nights. We are a young, active and outdoor loving couple and this was perfect. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the drive to Linville Falls and Caverns the first day. The scenic 30 minute drive was a vacation in itself. Also in the four days, we visited Chimney Rock, Downtown Ashville, Downtown Blowing Rocks, hiked Grandfather Mountain and DuPont National Forest where we hiked the 3 best falls in Western North Carolina (Triple Falls, High Falls and Hooker Falls). All the places we visited took about 30-45 minutes to get to. However, we very rarely got on the interstate roads. We live in a busy city near the beach so for us, the drive through the mountains to get to where we wanted to go was ideal and then we could escape the tourist attractions to go home to the cabin. This cabin was conveniently tucked away in the middle of the mountain, not too high up where it takes a long time to get to the roads but not too close where you hear traffic. It was perfect!

The owners of this cabin did a wonderful job decorating with theme rooms like horses and bears. The 3 bedrooms are decorated with a country mountain feel, Wi-Fi was included so we could still communicate with home, a huge kitchen to cook in, a fireplace to warm up to and most importantly, a breathtaking view of the mountains from their front porch rocking chairs. There are local grocery stores nearby so we did a lot of cooking and this kitchen had everything we needed. We would hike during the day and come back at night to relax, cook and have a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and cabin. Early in the morning on our way to our destinations, we saw deer, bobcats and other wildlife.

"Grizzly Den" is a perfect mountain getaway for any time of the year, any age and any activity level. We are already communicating with the owners to visit again in the summer with our children, ages 8 and 13. We picked up many broachers for our next trip which include area attractions like zip lines, Carowind's theme park, geming, hiking, caves and white water rafting that our children can't wait to visit! All of these things are relatively close to the cabin. Overall, this cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway, family getaway with kids, outdoor lovers, retired couples looking for peace and quiet or anyone who just wants to escape to the quiet and beautiful North Carolina Mountains!

Beautiful cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is tucked away in the woods but not so secluded that you can't find your way in an out. The owner was so easy to work with! The cabin was very beautiful, spacious, clean and stocked with linens. We will be back!

Beautiful home

The home and neighborhood is a beautiful place! Just a quick drive to many locations through the blue ridge mountains. Neighbors are very friendly and the gated neighborhood is very secure.

beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a secluded and beautiful newly developed housing development. All the houses around are cabins and miles apart. This cabin has a beautiful view. It is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities!!

I would stay here again. Hopefully my next visit will be in the winter to see the view covered in snow!!! Our family loved this cabin!!!

Secluded but worth the effort

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was everything is was advertised to be. Seems to be new and was very clean. It didn't have the best view of the mountains but it did have a view. A little remote but that was what we were looking for. Owner was very helpful with directions and instructions.

Beautiful cabin - so much to do

  • 5 of 5

By far the cleanest cabin we've ever rented. There was more to do than could be fit into a week. But in that time we explored Lake James, Asheville, Hendersonville, Little Switzerland, Blue Ridge Parkway, Harper Creek Falls, Chimney Rock, Rainbow Trout Fishing at Buck Creek Trout Farm, North Carolina Arboretum, and more. The home had everything needed plus Battle Ship :)
