Panorama Mountain Village is best known for its deep-powder downhill skiing and snowboarding.
However, the village's snow conditions and varied terrain are also ideal for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. As well, heli-skiing operators extend skiing and snowboarding opportunities well beyond the confines of the village.
In the summer, Panorama offers excellent hiking, mountain biking, horseback trail rides and golfing.
Skiing and Snowboarding
Enjoy Panorama Mountain Village's 1,220m/4,000ft of vertical and expansive downhill skiing and snowboarding terrain. Night-skiing is available from late-December until the end of the season. Cross-country ski at the Greywolf Nordic Centre, or take the kids on a guided snowshoe tour through the forests west of the village. Cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals are found at the resort.
More Winter Activities
Toby Creek Adventures offer half and full-day snowmobile and ATV packages. Keep an eye out for the abundant local wildlife.
Take the free Mountain and Valley Shuttle Bus to Invermere to access additional restaurants, shops, funky cafés and galleries. Check out the Skate the Lake skating trails on Lake Windermere (skate rentals available). The shuttle runs multiple times per day.
On a hot day, stop for a swim at Lake Lillian, located between Panorama Mountain Village and Invermere. The views of the Rocky Mountains are spectacular and the water is lovely. Try whitewater rafting with Kootenay River Runners on the upper sections of Toby Creek. Spend a challenging day at Greywolf Golf Course.
Check out the lift-assisted mountain bike park at Panorama. From the Mile One Quad, a total of 20 trails weave down the mountain.
