About Matt & Brian

We are a couple of science nerds living in Boston who needed an escape destination in our favorite place on Earth - Provincetown. Matt is an analytical chemist and I'm an oceanographer teaching Physics here in Massachusetts. After a long, record-setting winter of drives to the Cape we finally own the place of our dreams. Our new puppy, Salem has not yet been to P-town, but we are working hard this summer to train her for the hustle and bustle of Commercial Street and the wet and wild beach days that are sure to appear on our agenda frequently.

Matt & Brian purchased this condo in 2015

Why Matt & Brian chose Cape Cod

Needless to say, Provincetown is a singular kind of place. I've been vacationing here regularly since moving to Boston for graduate school, and it never ceases to amaze me how the sun always seems to shine just a little brighter and the birds sing just a little livelier than any other place I've visited. The property itself is a gem in that it is on the beach side of Commercial Street, extremely close to the ferry, just east of all the late night action, right across from the library, and next to Wired Puppy - one of the many excellent coffee shops in town. We love the feeling our new place evokes that we're away from it all, yet nothing is more than a 10 minute walk from our secluded slice of heaven.

What makes this condo unique

Although the condo is aptly described as a pied-à-terre , there is ample room for 3 people, and the nicely appointed kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, is more than adequate for preparing your own food if the restaurant scene is not your preference. The unit is nestled among 8 others in the complex. A large inlaid stone just outside our front door is rumored to be the actual geographic center of town! The complex is quiet yet central, and when we saw that the unit had a deck and private beach only a few paces from the door, we were sold!

Small and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This place provides everything you need - a bed, a couch, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Neighbors are friendly, location is close to the hustle and bustle of Commercial street, but insulated and quiet.

The home was wonderful. I was looking for a comfy place that was close to town, clean,

and easy to take care of. This place had it all.

The owners were so kind and easy and made me feel welcome. I would recommend

their home to anyone who wants a little getaway in Ptown.

Cozy, Snug, and Warm for the Winter

  • 4 of 5

I always visit Provincetown in February. This year was spectacular.

What made it so, was this gem of a unit. While its physical address is on the town's main road, Commercial Street, it is nestled behind a gate, down a pathway into an area of quiet serenity.

Because it was winter, I didn't have occasion to use the gas grill and lounge chairs that were there on the front deck, but its nice to know they are available throughout the year. I feared the unit would be too small for myself and my husband, but it was perfect. The Murphy bed that folds away into the wall is ingenious, and allows you to create more space during the day.

The fireplace was lovely, especially during the blizzard that hit this week. The power was down all over the area, but i was warmly sitting by the fire, having a glass of wine and listening to mystery podcasts on my ipad.

Despite the units size, it boasts a large refrigerator, oven, and microwave in the kitchen area. The dark counter tops were spotless and everything we needed was here-including a full bath, which is nice, as I like to read in the tub.

If you are looking for a quiet place in the bustle of Provincetown's in-season, or just a quiet escape in the off-season, this could be your place. The owners are completely accessible by email and phone if need be, so I was able to communicate any questions I had.

In the last 5 years, I've stayed in the West End, the East End, the condos near Stop and Shop at Capt. Berties Way. I have to say this has been my favorite place, I think, and I will definitely be returning for my February vacation again next year.

A Snuggery in Provincetown!

  • 5 of 5

From the introductory email instructions to enter the property to the very well-equipped studio, it was clear that Matt & Brian are very detail oriented gentlemen. The space itself is adorably cozy and well appointed. It's was a perfect place to relax in front of the fire over the chilly New Year's weekend. We can't wait to return!
