3 Double Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6, Ocean & Bay View
The Stone House is one of the original buildings in Marigot Bay, a site probably chosen for its fabulous Bay view & cooling easterly breeze.
A recent renovation has created a relaxing & inspiring home with modern day comforts & artistic charm.
The front gates open into a driveway with parking for 2/3 vehicles directly outside the house. On entrance you're greeted by an open-plan living room and kitchen area, a light and uplifting social space with vaulted ceiling & hardwood flooring.
The kitchen has unique polished concrete tops with breakfast bar & stools, the sink looks out onto an ocean view making this a pleasurable area to create cocktails & feasts, a local cook is an optional extra, you'll see how the unusual local produce is cooked & experience a delicious home cooked creole meal.
The favorite spot is usually the balcony, accessed through large sliding glass doors, you're instantly captured by the view which can be enjoyed from the lounge or dining areas situated on the balcony.
The 3 double bedrooms (King size, Queen size & Standard) all have bay views & louvered glass windows allowing you to control the welcome through breeze.
All beds are hand crafted on the island and each bedroom has an individually designed en-suite bathroom.
The house is on two levels connected by a handmade wooden spiral staircase.
The King size bedroom is on the upper level, it has AC, a ceiling fan & a large fitted wardrobe.
Both the Queen size & Standard bedrooms are on the lower level divided by another lounge/recreational area, there is a small fridge & sink, allowing you to enjoy hot & cold beverages whilst relaxing downstairs. Double doors open onto an outside deck with table & chairs, it conveniently leads to the pool....great spot to enjoy your coffee/tea after a morning swim.
The classic kidney shaped swimming pool has a salt water system, its 27’x 13’in size & ranges from 4’-7’depth. An incoming waterfall creates a relaxing sound whilst the infinity edge shelf ensures the beautiful bay is still in view.
A Caribbean home just isn't complete without a BBQ, with a pool side seating area this provides another dining option, particularly enjoyable during sunset!
The house has both 220v & 110v electrical supply & ceiling fans are fitted in every room.
Solar water heating & rain water collection tanks are one of the eco-friendly features.
Free Wi-Fi throughout, cable TV, a multi-regional DVD player & sound system with large speakers inside & small speakers outside on the balcony to ensure you can listen to your favorite music via your iPod. whilst enjoying a rum punch or local Piton beer & watching the boats, birds or night lights in the picturesque bay.

About Sabina Siddiqi
I’m a designer/artist born in the UK, hence the artistic décor & unconventional finishes. I’ve lived in St Lucia around 9 years, managing our house build then renovating The Stone House. I'm always on hand to help, advise & recommend, it's great to meet people & enthuse about the beauty of this island. Having travelled extensively, it's always fun to hear about new places & other peoples recommendations. I love snorkelling, wild life, nature and the sun! the main reasons I've been enticed to stay......it's a stunning island & Marigot Bay has an irresistible charm; it’s hard to leave & always great to come back!
Sabina Siddiqi purchased this House in 2008
Why Sabina Siddiqi chose Castries Quarter
Location!!! Marigot is a stunning location, it's also on the cost of the Caribbean sea, perfect to access both north & south of the island by road or by sea. Marigot Bay has a wonderful community, a mix of residents, visitors & locals, integrating local life with international people, an interesting social environment. I enjoy exploring, trekking through the rain forest, BBQ’s on beaches, a mud bath in the volcanic spring & adore waterfalls all of which the island has to offer.
What makes this House unique
I lived at the Stone House for 4 years whilst building another property just down the road where I now live. It's a very special home, when I spend a few days there I still find it hard to leave, especially now we've finished the renovation, it's bright, open, arty & fun. I love unusual, natural, character places, which generally tends to be older properties. The Stone house is one of the original buildings in the bay, built from stones found on the land in 1960's, I believe they followed a Canadian chalet design, it was 2 apartments, we've now converted it into one house adding an extra bedroom with bathroom. I love the fact it has a chimney & fireplace an unusual feature that gives it character, I've now installed a built-in gas oven, which signifies our changing times. It's wonderfully solid & simple, stone walls & wood floors, the glass sliding doors & louvered glass windows are great, seeing the sea, sky & trees, feeling the breeze, all this gives me a sense of space & well being. The pool is fab too, we've put an infinity edge shelf, so now it's so relaxing hanging on the edge watching the Bay.....perfect! Undeniably the best spot in the house is the veranda, sitting on a lounge chair gazing down into this stunning bay, watching the boats, birds, people playing on the beach, the magical night scene with lights & music drifting up from the bay...with a cold Piton Beer...really can't be beaten, it's captivating, relaxing, therapeutic.... indescribable!

Cute place. Well laid out with great amenities.
Very clean and cozy (not in a “small” cozy way, but spacious and truly “cozy”). Spectacular view of Marigot bay off the expansive deck. Sabina a gracious host. Great place for a family or couples. Thanks!!
We had a wonderful time
Sabina (The owner) is great and can organise everything for you. We were three couples and the house is perfectly adequate in terms of size and facilities for us all.
Fabulous views across the bay and the beautiful super yachts.
Definitely trust Sabina for organising airport transfers as the house might be difficult for a driver (who doesn't know the area) to find.
It's a lovely quiet location and benefits from a nice cool breeze in the evening.
Wonderful stay at The Stone House
Absolutely fantastic holiday in a lovely villa. Sabina was very friendly and welcoming, and we saw her a couple of times during our stay. She recommended trips and places to eat around Marigot Bay. Sabina helped organise our taxi to/from the airport with Anselm. Sabina also provided a local mobile phone to easily contact local tour operators.
The villa itself was beautifully designed with some lovely touches. The view over Marigot bay was spectacular. A highlight was watching the sun set from the balcony with a couple of bottles of Piton lager.
We would love to stay here again, sometime!
From the day we arrived to the day we departed, our time at the Stone House was magical. Sabina our hostess was absolutely wonderful, and happy to answer any questions we had, whenever we had them.
We initially thought to rent a car, but Sabina gave us the name of a driver who handled all of the details from getting us to and from the airport, drove us around on day tours, and even offered to come over and cook dinner for us.
We will definitely be coming back to this wonderful gem of a home in St. Lucia. Thank you Sabina for making our honeymoon extra special!
Escaping the Cold
Escaping the cold and snow in upstate NY is always a dream, but the warmth of Sabina’s welcome was even more than we bargained for!
Three couples/friends spent a week (Saturday through Saturday) at the Stone House and it was fabulous! Sabina helped us arrange Anslem to pick us up at the airport, and he was awesome! On the way back to the house, he stopped by a lookout point for us to take pictures, and then a local roadside bar/restaurant where we picked up some artesian fresh-baked. bread - YUM! Sabina met us at the house - so welcoming - and showed us around a bit, complete with ideas for dinner.
On Sunday, Sabina stopped by to bring some things over...and joined us for a wonderful conversation poolside! Then accepted our invitation to join us for dinner at Chateau Mygo — again, can I say YUM!!!
The reset of the week was a combination of relaxing in the sun, by the pool or in the shade of the veranda. Marigot Bay was a wonderful place...exactly what we were looking for...not overly tourist-y.
If I have any regrets, it’s that we didn’t take further advantage of Anslem’s services. He did pick us up and bring us to Soufriere one day, where we enjoyed a delectable lunch at a local restaurant. He and his wife cook and bring it to the house, if you’d like — but we had plans most nights, so didn’t take advantage of that. He also offered to take us to the Friday Fish Fry up in Castries, but we declined since we had to travel all day Saturday and didn’t want a late night. I highly recommend using his services, as he seems to know a lot of people in town.
So to sum it all up, I cannot say enough good things about Sabina and The Stonehouse! She and the house were amazingly awesome!
We have just spent a blissful four weeks at The Stone House. It was everything it said it was and more.
The house is well situated in Marigot Bay, with stunning views over it. It is exceptionally well equipped and was a pleasure to stay at. It is within easy walking distance of the marina and all its facilities.
Sabina, the owner, was the perfect host. Giving wise advice and making sure that we had everything we wanted. She addressed any issues immediately and provided a perfect service. Our only regret was we failed to heed her advice on a restaurant until the end of our stay - if we had we would have gone for dinner there too!
Sabina's local taxi driver, Anslem, was a delight too. He provided us with an excellent service throughout our stay. In addition he and his wife cooked and joined us for dinner, with their family, which was a lovely occasion - the food was delicious!
We would highly recommend The Stone House. It's rare to find a holiday rental with so much character.
