About Tracey

I found this property and fell in love with it the minute I pulled up. There are two houses that sit on 4 acres, placed in between streams on both sides of the cottages. It is a very special place and I am lucky to be able to share it with people

Tracey purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Tracey chose Poconos

The neighbors also say the original home was built by the famous local writer Zane Grey for his mistress so he could ride up and visit her a couple miles from his home down the river. I still haven't confirmed this information but many of the locals have told me the story behind three bridges. If anyone find out more info for me, please let me know!

gem in the woods

i would absolutely recommend this property to anyone in search of a quiet getaway. the cottage was just as the owner described. we had an amazing time in the country. its super cute and clean, just like the pictures. the rolling stream sounds at night were such a peaceful break from the cacophony of nyc life. we'll probably stay at the cottage every fall now that we've found it!! thank you tracey!!

idyllic family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at the Three Bridges Cottage. Prior to our arrival I had a million questions about the area and the owner got back to me promptly every time. In the end, my husband and two children and I spent most of our stay right on the property playing in the woods and resting on the hammock. We did tear ourselves away to enjoy the pool and the nearby petting zoo. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay.

Perfect Poconos Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely magical few days in Tracey's cottage. After a series of friendly, comprehensive emails from Tracey, we headed for PA. My girlfriend immediately dropped into the hammock the second we arrived, as our city existence melted away. We spent a peaceful few days taking day excursions to the river, cooking while drinking wine in the cute little kitchen and making fires in back. Tracey sent a helpful, well-curated list of things to do and places to eat nearby. (Be sure to eat at The Heron -- we did twice in three days!) It was really tough to leave when it was time to go home, but there's no doubt in my mind that we'll be back. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us, Tracey.

Hard to get past the mice infestation and lack of accountability by owner

  • 1 of 5

Property was cute and just as pictured. However, it's not obvious from the property description that the cabin is only seperated from the cottage (seperate rental) by a raised deck (part of the cottage rental). This was not an issue for us as we ran into the other renters only once. However, what was an issue were the mice. We found mice poop everywhere - in candles, pots and pans, floors, counters, railings, in the master bedroom ontop of the table, ontop of gloves located ontop of the fireplace tool chest, etc. we had a dog with us and even after cleaning down the kitchen, leaving all lights and tv on (for noise) we returned after an hour to find mice poop on the kitchen table and counters. Needless to say we ate all our meals outside or at restaurants, kept the place spotless, had to keep all our food in the fridge or locked in our luggage or coolers, tried to keep all our belongings packed up and raised off the floor (or in the car) and slept poorly. (We could also hear the mice running around at night). Having to deal with all that on vacation, and then have to deal with the hassle of disinfecting everything when we came home was the opposite of peaceful, relaxing and romantic. Not to mention when I notified the owner, her response was to suggest I mention the issue during my next stay for a discount. Even though the 40 decaying pellets of poop in a house candle jar proved this was a long term sysyemic problem. I had coughing fits whenever I was in the rental and believe this was a health hazard given the amount of feces all over the rental and that my coughing stopped soon after I came home. The front screen door had the top screen loose and the bathroom door (accordian style) had a tear at the handle. Again, although these were preexisting problems, the owner gave me no assurances she was going to return my security deposit. Over $1000 to live in a health hazard and not even a sincere apology for what we had to go through. To future renters, huge risk with not much reward in return. I have absolutely no confidence the infestation will be addressed and at minimum, would suggest you insist on a clause regarding rodent removal / alternative housing should you entertain staying at this location.

Owner's Response: Sadly, we believe this guest was being unfair and we have been informed they are not accurate in their review. The cottage at Three Bridges has been booked back-to-back this summer as well as vacationed by hundreds of guests consistently over the past 6 years. During those years, we have had only two or three mentions of mice sightings and have always taken proper action to avoid that from reoccurring. Until this stay, we had not heard any mention of a mice issue this year. For two weeks prior to this stay we had kept the cottage vacant while a new exterior paint job was being done. This was mentioned upon the guests booking as we were excited to have them as our first guests in the newly painted cottage. Unfortunately, it seems during those two weeks, a mouse and possibly his family moved in. The guests stayed the weekend and we were not made aware of their mice issue until after they had left and checked out. Within hours of receiving their email, we contacted our cleaning service, as well as our handy man and our extermination company with whom we are on a yearly contract which includes unlimited visits. Rich from Pocono Pest came out to the cottage the next day to assess the problem. He reassured us that this was not an infestation at all but rather a smaller and very addressable issue and he took all extermination measures necessary. We take these accusations very seriously and would never want our guests to feel uncomfortable. Our cleaning service is keeping an eye out and making sure the cottage stays extra clean to avoid future mice problems as well. We also purchased and installed sonar mice repellent devices around the cottage as well as added all-natural eco-friendly pellets in problem areas to deter them from entering. We always address any issue asap and all of our email correspondences with this guest were either within minutes or hours of their communication, never exceeding the 24-hour correspondence suggestion by HomeAway/VRBO. We believe we were very fair and kind in all our correspondences as well as quite expressive of our apologies and our immediate attention to the issue. We are happy to forward these correspondences to any future guest who might question this review as well as our exterminator’s notes and mice repellant receipts. We truly value our reviews and take pride in the very high ratings our home has received over the years so it saddens us to come across what we believe to be an unfair and inaccurate rating and review.

The property is beautiful and peaceful.

  • 4 of 5

We were a little surprised at how close the main house was to the cottage and that it would be rented as well. Kids loved going for hikes in the woods surounding the property. Our little one loved how close the stables were and enjoyed petting the goats and ponies. The community lake was nice and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming.

Quaint Cottage - Perfect for Small Group

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a Fri - Sat night weekend getaway, and enjoyed the cottage. The property is nice, with the streams and surroundings - the pictures are accurate to what you would expect. We brought our dog, and took advantage of the hiking nearby and then the house itself. The cottage is a perfect size for two - four people I would say.

When we got there, there was a beehive above the door, and I am allergic - I told Tracey about it, and she had the exterminator come out the next morning first thing and remove / spray the house. I thought that was nice. She was very responsive.

There is firewood, hammocks, grills (gas / charcoal) and utensils / pots pans for you to use. I would bring a lighter, there is not one there. Also, make sure you bring sheets and towels.

Overall, we liked. It would be an interesting place to go in the winter too, I would think.
