A deal for the money

  • 5 of 5

For the price, it's a fantastic stay. Right on a nice beach in Joyuda, not Cabo Rojo. The condo is decorated very nicely, the kitchen is well equipped and the balcony is worth the price of admission. There were plenty of towels and beach gear if you need to borrow. There were a few minor issues that we found that could be easily fixed: First, the check in w/Anna was completely rushed. She met us in a parking lot, never got out of her car and we had to hold her up to explain the directions again so we could write them down. There was no apt # on the door and the provided english directions are bit dicey. Check out is also funny, you have to wait until the cleaning service arrives at 11am unless otherwise scheduled. A key drop box would be an easy remedy. The living room furniture seats about 10 people! The sectional pieces sit on hard plastic feet which make the seating scoot around the tile floor like they were on ice. And while they do not claim to provide TV or WiFi, we would have happily paid a few dollars more for internet service. It helps us travelers research the day and stay in contact. We did poach the Light House Hotel's wifi in Cabo Rojo. The front desk was happy to provide the password.

The condo is close to some good restaurants, the best of which is Tino's. Do not go to El Gatino! Took a day trip to Boqueron, nice beaches and a great party town. Fresh local oysters & clams from street vendors. It is worth the drive as is Rincon.

Would we go back, yes.

The Perfect Place For Beach Lovers

  • 5 of 5

When I decided to stay at Paradise at the Beach I was expecting a nice place by the seashore to stay with my family. The first night we arrived there, tired and wear out by the air trip and driving from San Juan we just looked a little around and just went to bed to sleep. In the morning when we wake up our eyes could not describe what we saw. The appearance and beauty of the condo was just way beyond my expectations; simple, comfortable and tasteful. It is very hard to find a place so well prepared, good decoration with good taste and with all equipment necessary for a perfect vacation time. We love the beach so much that for us and for beach lovers you will not find a place like this. There was nothing missing. Everything was there. But biggest detail that just blew my mind was when I went to the balcony and saw that view. There was no price to put on what we saw. The ocean, the sky, the beach, the boats, the seashore, the wind, the green and well taking care of the common areas of the complex, the clean and beautiful swimming pool, WOW. There are no words to describe it and again the pictures on the website cannot capture a paradise like this. I have visited Puerto Rico many times but it have never passed through my mind that such a paradise could existed, it is just so beautiful. I’m surely going to miss the nighttime we spend talking at the balcony with my family and the view that even at night it is just out of this world. Thanks for sharing the opportunity and privilege to enjoy such a place with other people. We just look forward to future visits to Puerto Rico in which we will arrange our vacation according to the availability of this unforgettable paradise or in Spanish "Paraiso Inolvidable". Is obvious for the comments of my wife and children that this experience will be treasured in our hearts for the rest of our lives! That is why Paradise at the Beach for me and my family is now our number one destination to stay in Puerto Rico. Take my word for it. Thanks very much. PS Day fishing was good, but night surf fishing was excellent!

A really nice place, it is more lovely than the pictures show

  • 4 of 5

I found many of the previous negative reviews of this property to be misleading. Many of the issues like too many people, no towns close by or limited snorkeling opportunities are far beyond the owner’s ability to control. Do you want a review of the property or of the surrounding area? It is the traveler’s responsibility to do their homework about the area in which they will be traveling and the attractions close by. The property Owner is only responsible for the things that they can control.

A review of the property can only begin with it’s lovely location. The pictures presented do not due the property justice. The location is MUCH more beautiful and right over the beach. The apartment is located on the third floor and was plenty big enough for my Wife and I. The doors between the balcony and the living room can fully open (see picture) creating a wide open feeling.

When we arrived we found the apartment to be spotless with every utensil we needed to cook all of our meals. There is a full size refrigerator, cook top and a microwave oven. There is an air conditioner in the living room and in the bedroom that both work very effectively. There are also ceiling fans in the living room that really helped to circulate the air when AC wasn’t needed. It was obvious that a lot of time went into the lovely décor, as it felt as if we were in someone’s home. There were plenty of towels, linens and sheets for us to use. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment.

If you have done your homework and you want to stay in Western Puerto Rico, then this property should be definitely considered. This is a very nice place that is very cost effective.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

Since this was our first visit to Puerto Rico, we had no idea how long it would take to obtain our rental car and make the trek from San Juan to Paradise on the Beach. Since both Leida and her sister Ana were out of town, arrangements had been made for Nydia to handle our check in and out. We truly appreciate her patience as we arrived much later than we had anticipated. However, as soon as she helped us into the apartment, it seemed familiar and very comfortable. It was all and even more than had been portrayed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen more than adequate. Other than the grill being out of propane, everything we needed to make our stay ”the best” was provided. We spent countless hours on the balcony both reading and observing those on the beach below. The beach . . . how do I even begin to talk about the beach. Let me just say that we loved it and can’t imagine better water for early morning and late night swims. During our week in Paradise, it would be rather crowded mid-day but all the people were wonderful and it was always easy to get our share of white sand.

This will not be our last visit to this wonderful country and when we return, we will certainly be staying at Paradise on the Beach.

Nice layout, not what we were expecting

  • 3 of 5

Pros: sun-filled living room with beautiful sunsets, calm/warm water, great balcony w ceiling fan, plenty of room for 2, snorkeling equipment was in good shape

Cons: lots of people on the beach and up late at night under our window, ANTS in the apartment that required constant vigilance, no door knob on the front door made it very difficult to open due to swelling, many utensils but only 1 six-inch pan for cooking (no pots, no pans, literally that's all), sofas were not comfortable to lounge/read on because the sections easily separated, beach was closed off on both sides (no beach walking possible), a few restaurants but no real town. Snorkeling ok for absolute beginners but nothing to write home about.

If all you want to do is drink cocktails and lie in the sun, this is a nice place, though we did have some issues with noise at night. If you like to get the feel of a town, have a more secluded beach with more space, partake in water activities like surfing/kayaking/boogie boarding this is not the place for you. Facilities were decent but you can find better.

Owner's Response: Reviews are always good to improve any service given to our rental-guest. As per you stated on check out you were more than happy with the stay, express good comments & wanting to return.I want to clear some cons on your review 1. Ants:First complain we have about this matter, if you would had called us immediately we would have sent an exterminator to fix the situation. As per the housekeeper have advise after your check out, there where ants because residuals of food were left all over the kitchen, 2. People on the Beach: unfortunely we have no control over this, in Puerto Rico beaches are not private, but yet public. You could have done 3 things,a. Close the window & turn on the air condition, b. call us for us to call the police for disturbance of public in your behave,or c. called the police which we have a phone number inside the wood key box at the entrance of the apt, 3.Door Knob: On April we did some renovations and change the knob,4. Pans and Pots: there are 3 pans and 2 pots, beside the rest of utensils for cooking, if you had called, immediately we would had satisfied your needs, 4. Sofas: As sectional off course if the person do not make correct use of it they will separate, 5.Beach was closed off on both sides(no beach walking possible): not true, once you open the gate if you decide to make a right you can be walking on the sand at least 2 hours and you would not finish the complete sand side with clear and crystal waters, if you decide to turn left once you reach the palm & condos you keep walking on the water of 1 feet depth and you can walk at least 15 minutes or enjoy of some clear and not deep water and wild life,6. Few restaurant no real town: Probably you did not read the description of the condo on our page, off course Joyuda Road is not a town it is a road that leads you to Boqueron, La Parguera, to the town of Mayaguez & the town of Cabo Rojo, 7. Snorkeling: maybe you did it at the shore which is good for beginners, because kayack and sknorkeling are my favourite and when I snork I go at least 20 to 30 feet far from the shore and what you can observe is just amazing, some of our rental-guest have sent us great pic of there experience, even this week there was a Manati near the shore,8. Water activities: most of the owners of the condo have boats, kayack, boogie boards, water mobile, & even public bring them and have great fun, so it is not correct that it is a close beach and no water activities can be done. Regards Leida
