Overall impression is that this property needs a deep cleaning and many more amenities to qualify as a VRBO/Home Away rental property. I've stayed in many across the country and have never encountered one so ill prepared for guests. I would probably not stay here again.
As a side note confirming what a few other reviews have stated, the owner is also the property manager and has several other properties. He suggested 36 hours before our arrival that we move to another one of his properties because of a hot water heater issue. My daughter checked the alternate property out and it wasn't acceptable so he agreed to keep us at the original property located on Oliver Street.
Overall our stay was a positive experience. A few small hiccups...the entry code provided was incorrect so had to call owner on arrival to gain entry.
We came home one afternoon to a duct cleaning crew occupying the home. We had not been advised that this would be occurring. The trash cart was full when we arrived so our trash had to be piled around the cart.
The house served our purposes well though and we would stay again.
I had reserved and paid for this property in May of 2016. As my trip was approaching in July, I received an email from the property manager telling me that the property had been double booked and that they had to move me to another property. After some arguing back and forth, I agreed to move to the property managed by this same person on S. Glendale also listed on VRBO. On July 11th I went to the property on S. Glendale. My wife and four kids and I went into the home and found that it was already occupied by a family who had also booked the location. These people told me that they had booked the property on a different service from the same property manager.
The property manager was absolutely no help. He tried to put me in another property in a bad part of town with no hot water. This was the worst experience I have ever had with VRBO. DO NOT TRUST THIS PROPERTY OWNER!
We had several problems with the house immediately. First of all we couldn't get in because the deadbolt combination had been changed and the check in procedures hadn't been updated. We were pretty quickly able to get ahold of Tim though and got in to see that the house had not been cleaned. Again we got a hold of Tim and he sent someone over to clean it. After a very long hot night we realized that the AC wasn't working so we called Tim but unfortunately it took all day to have someone fix the issue. So thankfully our last night was air conditioned. Tim did try to fix problems as they arose there were just to many issues that could have easily been fixed by someone checking on the property before we arrived for me to give it more stars 😕 I feel like because of the AC problem I did not get what I paid for.
Good location & nice character in the house but is sorely lacking electrical outlets (upstairs bedroom didn't have any) & no working overhead lights in the living room & hallway outside the bathroom made the place rather gloomy-looking. Be sure to bring your own towels or else be prepared to make a run to Target.
