Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Montelibretti

1 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 3 Sleeps

Charming, independent apartment in the medieval town of Montelibretti, in the Province of Rome. The area is full of history and tradition and the town is sorrounded by a stunning landscape and by an almost intact countryside. The three storied apartment has wooden ceilings and is finely furnished. There are a kitchen with an old fireplace, a big and refined living room, 1 spacious bedroom 1 family bathroom and 1 toilet. On the first floor there is a small balcony from where it is possible to enjoy the athmosphere and sounds of a typical Italian ancient village. Montelibretti is sorrounded by intact olive groves and immense prairies. It is famous for its oil production, for its landscape, for an Etruscan archeological site and for two huge State properties. One is the second biggest and most prestigious Lipizzaner stud farm in Europe, a bewitching place where you can see a herd of wild horses galloping against the setting sun and enjoy the power and beauty of undomesticated nature. Being of the the few places in the world where you can easily see so many wild horse in a context of beauty and freedom, several International documentaries are being shot here. The other is the Italian Cavalry School, which can boast of the Italian most beautiful and valuable thoroughbreds horses and most famous Italian riders.

In Montelibretti area you can also: visit the fantastic Sabina oil museum and learn about ancient methods of olive production or simply take part to an olive harvest, visit an old olive mill and finally taste some freshly produced olive oil; visit a traditional Sagra (food festival); relax in Sabina's nature; swim in wild streams with beautiful waterfalls; hike, ride or cycle across the stunning and peaceful contryside; visit Colle del Forno archeological site; visit the archeological Museum of Fara in Sabina

Untouched by mass tourism, Sabina Region is an unspoiled part of Italy that lies in the heart of Rome countryside. Its hills and historical sites are the ideal location for a slow travel. Sabina is a heaven of peace and tranquillity, visiting it is like taking a step back in time. It can boast of the most stunning landscape of Lazio Region and many spectacular medieval-romanesque castles. That date back to the 10th or 11th centuries. To mention only a few, Castello Orsini in Nerola, Castello Ducale in Fiano Romano, Castello Catino, Castello Baronale in Montenero Sabino, Castello di Rocchettine, Castello Savelli in Palombara Sabina and the imposing Castle of Roccasinibalda, which is the most significant example of military architecture in Upper Sabina. The whole village is shaped as a fortified hamlet and the fascination of this place encoureged throughout the centuries the belief in mysterious voices and apparitions. In the heart of Sabina, 30 minutes by car from Montelibretti, in a mystic athmosphere of silence, stands the Abbey of Farfa. Its firs foundation took place around the middle of the 6th century. In 1928 the Abbey was declared national monument for its architecural and artistic beauty and nowadays thousands of visitors go to Farfa to admire the cultural and artistic heritage and to spend some time in its peaceful atmosphere to rest their mind and soul.
