Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin is located in a very convenient place, within walking distance to the association beach, close to the Northway and town. It has very good conveniences, such as clothes washer and drier and a dish washer. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill on the porch we used. We were 3 adults, but it could easily accommodate another couple in the upstairs bedroom, which has a bathroom. Downstairs, there is 2 bedrooms and a full bath. There is a convenient heat setting, which we used for the first few days of Memorial weekend.

There are also air conditioners in each bedroom which we didn't have to use. We took a trip to Ausable Chasm which is an awesome place. The outside porch has a very beautiful view of the surrounding forest. We enjoyed walking to the beach, and might have taken a quick dunk if it were warmer outside. The owner, Ted, was very helpful, and though we had a problem with the Wi-Fi, he contacted Time Warner. They came too late for our stay but the Wi-Fi is fixed.

Well, together with the fine dining ( at Sagamore, and at Bolton, and our own cooked meals, using the outside grill), the very interesting sights, and the outdoor ambience, we are looking forward to revisiting the scene next Memorial Day.

Thank you Ted.

Perfect Cabin for Perfect stay on Lake George

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Ted's cabin in Bolton and it went beyond my expectations. The cabin is spacious, well appointed with very comfortable bedding. It is well equipped with everything you would need for a perfect Lake George getaway. The cabin is a very short walk (maybe 50 yards) to the most picturesque, spectacular view of Lake George!! There lies a nice beach perfect for swimming and enjoying Lake George. One evening it got kind of warm but NO PROBLEM with an air condition unit in each room we all slept like babies. Ted was awesome answering all of our questions and giving excellent recommendation for rafting, fishing and even the best place for ice cream!! What a great experience and I would highly recommend this cabin for the perfect Lake George escape.

A nice and pleasant stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for couple of days over the weekend for fall 2016 and really enjoyed our stay. We could walk to the lake in less than 5 minutes for beautiful view. We had extra guests wanting to join at the last moment and the owner didn't mind at all. Owner was very responsive to our questions about our stay prior to coming here. Enjoyed the barbeque grill outside on the deck. The view from the living room was nice. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.

My husband and I were looking for a pet friendly location in Lake George. We rented this Bolton Landing property for a week at a cost of $3,000 under the impression it was a 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bath home with a view of Lake George. We were excited to be back in Bolton Landing and took my 75 year old Mom and 85 year old father to join us. Upon arrival, we were shocked to see that the house was set in the middle of a street full of trees located on a steep hill. When we entered the house, the owner was kind enough to leave three sets of keys and directions to the beach. We decided before going to the beach to inspect the house. Unfortunately, the house was NOT clean. Mom and I spent two hours scouring the refrigerator, sinks and tubs. The wood floors in the two downstairs bedrooms were full of dark long hair. We vacuumed and washed all of the floors before washing and changing all of the sheets. Following the full clean out, we decided to purchase groceries and return to inspect the beach. While putting away groceries, we notice mouse droppings in the drawer next to the sink. Upon further inspection, we notice more droppings under the sink. Yuck and double yuck to say the least. OK, more cleaning. We decided to head down to the beach to take a look. Unfortunately the beach was located down two steep hills and a staircase. Neither of my parents ever made it down to the beach, they were too busy huffing and puffing and had a hell of a time climbing back up the mountain to the house. Needless to say, they never made it to the beach. My husband and I only went one time because there was no where left to sit. We left one day early after finding dead mice in newly tiled first floor. Love Bolton Landing and Lake George, but felt that this rental was misleading especially because it was nowhere near the lake and the house itself was filthy dirty. The exterior of the house had wood, gas cans, tools, hoses, etc. strewn about. Not very safe for children or pets. We couldn't even make a pot of coffee until the pot was thoroughly cleaned and the coffee maker rinsed with vinegar!!! So disappointed....we need a vacation do over!!!

Owner's Response: This is a completely bogus review and I am more than happy to provide additional pictures to futures renters in request. 1. The renter complained the house is in the woods but all houses in Lake George area are in the woods. I am adding a profile picture of the described hill and view from the street. If your 85 I understand a little hill looks like Mt. Everest. 2. Yes, the house is very cleaned and I was stunned at her comments. My cleaner is a personal friend who works for Holiday Inn cleaning. I went with my new wife, as I got married 2 weeks before, to help clean and insure everything is in good order. She said crazy stuff like she washed the floors... I have hardwood floors, 1 st we sweep, then vacuum and then use a swifter. The floors are beautiful.. See pictures. 3. The renter said her parents "huffed and puffed" all the way up the hill but never got to the beach. Impossible, where did they walk back from, Disney World! Also, they can simply drive 30 seconds down to the beach and drop someone 150 feet from the beach. Also , the renter did not leave early as I drive by the house early and their car was still in the driveway the morning of departure. Complete fabrication is this renters idea of review. 4. The sheets are always clean. She did not wash the floors, nor the sheets as the house was clean. 5. The refrigerator is both new and clean. I will add a profile picture. She did not clean anything because the cleaner and I always make sure it is clean. 6. She said she was under the impression it is a 4 bedroom house. Complete lie.. The house is listed as a 3 bedroom. 6. The coffee maker is new and clean as is the grill. I get a new one of both every summer. 7. The house, inside and outside, is safe for pets and children. In reference to what she mentioned about tools, hose and empty gas can outside. I have a huge deck which wraps around the house.. On the far side of the house, under the deck, was a garden hose, empty can.. For lawnmower, and a few tools. Those tools were there, because the downstairs recently had slate floors installed so I put a hammer there by mistake.. It was away from everything and not possible to be reached by children.. Under my deck in a hidden area! I keep an empty lawnmower can outside instead of inside because it is safer. I need to keep it somewhere and this seamed like a better idea. 8. There are no mice. I have a company come every few months to use preventive care so there are no ants or mice!
