Beautiful, authentic three story A-frame on 6/10 ths of an acre of wooded property 15 minutes from Bass Lake and thirty minutes from the main gate of Yosemite National Park.
Come enjoy the cozy but spacious "Lair" while listening to the backyard fountain, warming up to the huge woodstove fireplace, or playing a game of relaxing pool or darts in the basement. While barbecuing, look for deer and wild turkey wandering about.
Enthusiastic hiker and nature lover who enjoys basking in the glory of Yosemite National Park , water skiing on Bass Lake, or just puttering around his tri-level mountain cabin while entertaining friends.

The perfect architecture and fit for a person of taste and an excellent place to accommodate large groups.
Great backyard, beautiful well-decorated common areas, fun recreation room, cozy and renovated bedrooms and remodeled bathrooms. If you like games, there are an abundance of them inside and out, not the least of which is the new horseshoe pit.
The loft looks down on a living area decked out in eclectic furnishings from Texas and Asia, while on all the walls and carpets are the indelible signs of an African safari.
Have a coffee on any one of the three patios or decks, watch a DVD in the loft or simply snooze in the hammock and garden while listening to the water fall of the newly refurbished fountain.
Please note the property finally does have wifi and internet capability. You can stream net flix on the flat screen television in the loft. Cell phone reception is best with Verizon but T-mobile can be problematic.
This was a great place for our three families with kids to hang out together for a few nights. The layout was very comfortable and the owner, Marc, was super easy to rent from. It was an easy <90 minute drive to Yosemite Valley and it looks like Bass Lake could be a great place to return to during the summer. Thanks, Marc!
This was a great house and I would stay here on future visits. Very convenient to Bass lake and a nice drive to the Yosemite Valley.
The area has lost a lot of tree cover so it does get a little warm during the day if you are going to hang out at the house. However the nights are cool and good for sleeping.
This is a great house to rent. We had 3 families and it fit us nicely, very spacious and comfortable. The inside was very clean and tidy.
The house had a stocked kitchen with NICE appliances and pots and pans and several kitchen gadgets that you don't normally see at a rental place. Big bonus for us since we cooked most of our meals. Beds were all comfortable too.
The outside area was very nice as well but needs outdoor furniture. Fortunately, we brought a bunch of camping chairs, so we were ok, but if you didn't have those you wouldn't be able to hang out & utilize the backyard as much with no where to sit. We would have eaten dinner out there if there'd been a table to sit at. There was a small bench and hammock, but that was it. The deck off the front of the house was a great place to watch the stars at night but only had a couple of chairs. The deck off of the master bedroom lacked outdoor seating/furniture as well.
My only real complaint was that the house does not have AC and it was really hot during the day. There were a few fans but the place needed several more to circulate the air in such a big space and keep it cool. Also, one of the rooms advertised was really just a loft and not a separate bedroom. I didn't notice this until after we had booked it. It worked out fine but was a little misleading as it was listed as a bedroom and wasn't.
The owner was great with communication. He was very prompt in responding to my questions leading up to our stay there and had a very detailed list of specifics and directions on particulars about the house. You could tell that he cared about his house and wanted those staying there to enjoy themselves.
The directions provided by google maps were a little off and it was a little tough to find the house initially. The Lair was about 15 minutes to Bass Lake and was an easy drive. There weren't any major stores close by so it's best to bring food with you (or plan on taking the time to make a trip to the store once you are there that is a little out of the way). It was in a nice quiet neighborhood and in a beautiful location.
All in all it was a great place to rent for families or a large group and I'd highly recommend it!
We had a great time. Marc the owner was great, every time I had a question he emailed me back the same day or the next morning at the latest.
Thank you Marc for sharing your beautiful home with us. I had a really hard time finding a home in the area because every one only rents out a week at a time during the summer. So I'm really grateful since I only needed one weekend. Booking was really easy and the home in only 10 minutes from the marina where you can rent a panthoon boat for 5 hours for $290. The day swimming area is a little further maybe 15 minutes from the home. Bass Lake is gorgeous and the water is warm.
The home is very spacious we had a large group and it was not crowded at all. Every one spread out over the 3 levels. The man cave area on the lower floor was a big hit with the men who stayed up half the night playing pool and darts. Also that lower level stayed nice and cool since the home has NO AC, luckily when we were there it was only 93, but when we checked in it was hot and stuffy, we opened all the doors and windows to air it out and ended up with hundreds of flies in the house. Some screens on the doors would have been nice or AC. The nights were cool so the home cooled off nicely. Also the home had a lot of decor , statues, vases all sorts of figurines and collectibles but we had 2 toddlers with us, so as soon as we opened the door I had to run around take everything and stash it on the high fire place mantle so it will not get broken. By the time we checked out I could not remember where every thing belonged. One more thing there were a lot of cobwebs especially on the lower level windows. I have a fear of spiders so it really creeped me out. The home needs a little bit of TLC. The kitchen looks like it was recently remodeled and was fully stocked with pots pans dishes some spices. The backyard is really nice grill, fountain, beautiful stone work and a hammock. The home has every thing you need soap, toilet paper, towels just come and enjoy. We had a really awesome time and I got my deposit back in 9 days.
