We loved this cabin. It's a short drive from Sunrise Park Resort. The home itself is secluded, in the middle of a narrow valley surrounded by hills. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully stay again.
Perfect cabin for a large family! Secluded location...yet close enough to stores, ski resort and restaurants. Everything you need for your family (and fur babies) to enjoy a home away from home including a crib and highchair and dog crates of all sizes! Everything you need to make delicious meals and a nice size TV to watch football! Would absolutely rent again! Wouldn't even consider any other cabin! Owners very informative.
This is a great place to stay! Wonderful amenities for kids and dogs alike. The property is fun to explore and unique in its design. There are lofts and little nooks for kids to discover and play in, there are lots of toys for little ones, and a great indoor patio for the pups. It's not hard to find - it's all about that mile marker! We were comfortable and had plenty of room and privacy with our party of seven. The owners were very prompt in responding to emails and even went out of their way to post my son's suitcase back to us...which we realized we'd left behind once we got home! The Christmas decorations helped make this already welcoming property even more so. We will definitely be back!! This is the perfect property for groups to spend time together and relax without giving up privacy or the comforts of home. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us this holiday season!! :)
Six of us stayed at the cabin while doing some work in the adjacent Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. We were very impressed with the spacious bedrooms, kitchen with all the amenities, and the overall comfortable living arrangements inside and out. It certainly felt like a home away from home. We would definitely consider staying here again!
Truly exceeded all of my expectations and more. We are from Tucson, my family and I travelled up north for the weekend for an elk hunt. The boys came back hungry! The barbecue was perfect and the kitchen was roomy. It had all the essentials to whip up a big meal and so much living space to relax after. The walk in concrete room has huge windows with amazing views. Our dog loved sitting there and watching the horses at the next lot. I'm sure my 2 year old appreciated the toys and games available too. I truly loved how this home had extra baby clothes, if needed, a crib with a huge fluffy bunny, and a changing pad. We all loved it and the owners are super easy to contact and work with. My family and I are already planning next years trip and plan to reserve this again!
Sometimes owners post all the perfectly lit, filtered, and cropped photos, so when you arrive, you're slightly disappointed. When we arrived for our long weekend, we were blown away by how beautiful and well-appointed this cabin actually is - better, I think, than the photos show!
Three families gathered here to celebrate two big birthdays, surprising the guys with a fishing trip for the weekend. We almost didn't want to leave the cabin. The kids played in the sun room with the thousands of toys, explored the overgrown gardens out back, and even hiked up the ridge behind the property. We cooked up a storm, never eating out once, and played cards and had a lot of laughs in the living and dining rooms. Fireside cocktails on a chilly night were the perfect way to unwind after the kids ran off to bed in the Bear Room, where I'm sure they stayed up playing for another hour, haha. There were even perfect accommodations for our big fur baby.
The fishing was okay... We caught a couple at Hulsey Lake and a couple at Nelson. Perhaps next time we'll trek a little farther to follow some of the owner's recommendations. There WILL be a next time!!!
I did have one question for the owners, and they did respond promptly. My only suggestions to others would be to bring your own knives if you plan to cook much. While the kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING and more, I had a hard time without my own sharp knives.
Thanks for a weekend we'll never forget!
Nutrioso is at 7500 feet elevation, the wildlife in the area is incredible from the Majestic Elk to Mexican Wolves. Many neat places to Hike including some areas that have caves ! Will have info at the cabin for you on trail system! Fishing/Fly Fishing is also awesome. For those who are into Hunting, this is the place for you! Elk, Bear,Turkey, Grouse, Waterfowl, Deer... and much more! Incredible bird watching here as well... Overall, just a great place to get away from it all! Nelson Reservoir is 2 miles from cabin on same side of hwy. It is stocked by fish and game in the summer 20,000 trout. Yes, 20K.
