Best sunset view in Santorini

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay. Best vacation, starting from breakfast at the pool to ending your day with a sunset view from private balcony. Our 12 y/o son loved the top floor bedroom. Very convenient to shops & Amoudi Bay.

The views are to die for, and the entire staff is top-notch

  • 5 of 5

I would love to give this property even more stars if I could. We absolutely loved our stay here. As other reviewers have mentioned, we were treated like family by the entire staff. Actually, better than family - more like the most special guests they could have. We always had reserved lounges by the pool and the best reserved table to view the spectacular sunsets. This was our week to relax and we spent a lot of time at the pool or out on our two balconies, just enjoying the views.

Having breakfast included was a treat, especially since the kitchen was really too small to consider fixing much. My husband even had waffles with ice cream and Baileys one day - very unlike him but he said it was delicious. Even if we ate dinner elsewhere, we almost always came back for dessert. Both the molten chocolate cake and the warm brownie with ice cream are wonderful! Both George and Thomas saw to it that our glasses were full and there were snacks on the table.

You are in a quiet spot here, but there were still many people who stopped to take a picture of the windmill. It IS a unique spot, and a unique place to stay. The stairs might not be for everyone, but you can avoid the steep ones by using the second entrance. We are both 70 years old and got along just fine. Both beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked well. There is no washer, and no laundromat in Oia, so come prepared with enough clothes to wear, or wash out some things in the sink. A small price to pay for your beautiful surroundings.

Manos will arrange taxis for you and make sure everything is right with your stay. His Mom and Aunt Ellen cleaned for us every day. On our last night they invited us in to say good-bye to everyone and see pictures of the renovation of the windmill and pool property. And a special thank-you to Auntie Ellen and Manos' brother Jaco for meeting us at 3:30 a.m. to help us carry our bags to where the taxi could meet us. I told them it wasn't necessary, but they insisted. All the family was so kind. if we can ever get back to Oia, I would love to stay with them again.

Felt Like Home

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4, husband and 2 daughters, 20 and 16, visited Oia and stayed at the windmill for 5 nights in August. The only negative thing I can say is that we didn't stay long enough! The welcome we got from Manos and his family was exceptional! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was to our liking. I've never been treated so well! Free breakfast every morning was fabulous. We had the whole pool area to ourselves for breakfast, since the only property they own is the windmill and the pool bar, and the pool bar didn't open until 10 am, so when we got to the pool at 9:30, we were the only ones there.

The windmill is 3 levels, but tight. We quickly got used to it, and honestly, who wants to stay inside when you've got the most incredible view from both patios! We actually never watched the sunset from the pool because we liked sitting on our patio, enjoying our cocktails that they would deliver to us! The location of the windmill can't be beat. There is a mini market just steps away that we used a lot to buy water, ice cream and other necessities. We could easily walk to Amoudi Bay to go swimming, which was so nice.

I could go on and on about how much we loved staying here. It truly felt like home, and Manos and his family felt like family. I can't wait to return!

Great stay for our family of four.

Highly recommended. Stunning location, great pool. Our teenage sons loved it. Not for those with even moderate mobility issues, and avoid large suitcases, because of narrow, steep stairs/ladders. A short distance from the most crowded/busy part of Oia. Friendly useful staff and owner/management. Best breakfast (free!) in one month spent in Greece. 1 minute walk to very good and fair-priced restaurant (Elinikon).

Stunning location.

  • 5 of 5

The windmill is in a stunning location, at the edge of the caldera on the tip of the island. Having access to the pool in the adjacent resort is also very nice. Inside, the windmill is compact -- it is not spacious -- but for us this was fine as we were outside on the windmill's terrace admiring the view.

Can't beat this place

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely amazing time in the windmill. It featured breathtaking and unforgettable views. Manos was a wonderful host and very responsive, he helped us with whatever we needed. The pool was a great place to relax during the day or watch the sunset. The staff were all very nice and having breakfast each day was a treat. The stairs in the windmill were a little bit steep but never posed a problem. AC and Wifi were both good. Thanks for a great stay!
